I went with a group of girls (20 and 21), the ones who are 21 all ordered drinks and got their IDs taken to the back and then harassed by questions about their information, asked for second forms of ID, and given no explanation as to why so many questions were being asked. Theresa was our server and was nothing but rude; came back after only 20 minutes of us sitting and slapped the check on the table and said she isn't serving us anymore. We were planning on staying all night, but felt so uncomfortable we had to leave. It felt like they were in a hurry to get us out of the door and did not want us there. read more

Stopped in on Sunday evening around 9:30. Kitchen open until 11:00. Ignored for 10 minutes just standing there. Bar tender was useless. Not sitting at bar at side table 4 people. Staff walked by twice, bar tender asked if we need anything? My wife said menus and he proceeded to grab some and shake them over that bar like come get them. That's because his lazy fat ass was too busy being cool bar tender guy to walk them over. This place never even got a shot and never will I hope it fails and closes because it's run like shit. read more

Stumbled upon this place as we were viewing the island ! The staff was very welcoming from entering to leaving ! It had a unique smell but that didn't bother us ! My husband got the salad which he said was good ! I tried the nachos ! The pickled slaw gave it a different taste along with the potato "nachos" . I would've loved to add lettuce to them but they were okay. I don't think I would try them again BUT i would definitely visit the establishment again for future business . read more

We have been "locals" to Anna Maria for about 10 years and have had about everything on the island. Since it is getting a little more popular, the mainstream sites are little too busy for us on a Saturday night. The freckled fin is a perfect place for locals, and people who aren't looking for anything family. Just good food and a good atmosphere. Saturday night was pretty busy, but the staff was phenomenal in finding us a table. The tuna tacos, were 12/10. One of the best meals I have in a very long time. Highly recommend! read more

The food was horrible!!! Ordered a Sheppards pie and it came in pieces that looked like empanadas and slop, they had the nerve to justify it by saying it was deconstructed. The grouper sandwich was extremely salty, I mean grouper is from the ocean but this was extremely salty and had no flavor to it. The Rueben appetizer bites were fried in what tasted like day old grease. This place is just a revolving door for tourists. Never again! This is one of the worse places I have eaten at, in fact the only thing that was good was the beer. I don't usually leave reviews whether good or bad, but this place was a waste of time and money. Returned for rock and roll trivia with Stone Crab Pete for the second year in a row and enjoyed every minute. Not your traditional trivia night, but lots of fun! The beer is cold and refreshing and the wait staff is always attentive. We didn't have any food other then fried pickles on this trip, but they were hot and delicious. The ambience was good for a late night on the island and the live music was a plus! However, the blackened mahi sandwich was bland. The burger came with no mayo or anything, just meat lettuce tomato in a bun. The poutine seemed to be made with mozzarella. Had a terrible visit to this restaurant. Even on a nice night the place was stuffy and smelled. Now owner will reply that since I have a bunch of one star reviews I must be lying well I only really write a bad review as I figure if you pay good money it should be a four or five star. In my first review I didn't stress how bad the guy bartender was. None of the ceiling fans were on and it was extremely hot so hot two guys next left. I went here for lunch with two friends. I had the Blackened Mahi sandwich, my friends had the Boom Boom shrimp and the tuna Sashimi. It was all very good. The two bartenders, Chris and Julie were very friendly and made us feel like a local. This place will be a new island favorite when I visit again. read more

This is mainly a bar where loud people get good and drunk and watch sports and they serve food too. The menu is average bar food. I enjoyed the steak and ale soup, as well as the club sandwich. My husband was quite unhappy, however, with his fish tacos. They were tiny! Two little tiny tacos for $18, which is not good. No complaints about anything else. Our service was good. read more

Nothing super special but not a bad pub. Only downside was it says online they're open until 2am and they closed up before even 1am. Also for some reason there was massive roaches and spiders on the walls inside by the tables which was kinda freaky. Service wasn't bad, didn't order much but we got it fairly fast. Husband had a bacon cheeseburger. They advertise the best on n the island. Smh. The bacon was so chewy he couldn't cut through it. Patty had gristle inside. Kind of gross. Good news the tator tots were ok. I had the Irish Dip. Waitress said it's really good. I really wanted it to be. I love corned beef. When I came out I saw nice thick pieces of corned beef and was so excited. Sadness fell immediately when I tasted it. It was so salty. I tried to dip in the au jus. Ugh super salty also. Enjoy classic Irish drinks, with a nice more Irish style menu, not an American-Irish style menu. They have a good size bar, a stage for local bands to play, and refreshing pub grub food that I saw more of when I was in Dublin, versus other Americanized Irish Pubs you find here in the USA. Great Irish pub!! I had the fish n'chips (tots). Nice healthy portion, not to much or too little-perfect. A friend had the rueben and that was excellent. They have a special way of cooking their corned beef. Turkey lingonberry croissant was excellent and hearty. A must Go sweet and eat! read more

Super marginal. We had a large (8+ items) take out order and there were no errors which was great, but food was all plain and boring. Shepherds pie was flavorless and corned beef was tough. Pretzel bites were dry and "beer cheese" was just like pour out of a can yellow nacho cheese. Wings were good, but teriyaki sauce (which thankfully came on the side) was terrible. Couldn't get waited on. Went inside and asked the bartender if we needed to see a hostess to sit outside. She said no so we got a table and waited 10 minutes and no one came. Went back inside and ask if they had table service outside and she said yes, she'd send a waitress. Went back and waited some more. Finally I said, "I'm done" and left. I was vacationing in FL and stopped into the Freckled Fin to watch the Big 10 hoops tourney. I started a conversation with a guy next to me at the bar because he had a Detroit Tigers shirt on and he happened to be the owner. He was a great guy and provided us lots of information about the island and local establishments. He convinced us to stay and try the food (we only intended to have some beers while watching hoops). I was pleasantly surprised!!! I'll admit I was skeptical about ordering Ahi Tuna from an Irish place but the owner highly suggested it. It was EXCELLENT. The home made chicken strips were also top notch and a huge portion. It appears most of their food is from scratch. I was with my daughter and some other college age kids so we ended up staying until almost midnight watching the band and dancing. It was very busy and a really fun time. They apparently have live music every night. Overall the place was excellent. The food was MUCH better than I would have anticipated. Prices were reasonable, good draft selection, strong drinks, fun atmosphere and live music. It was spring break so it was VERY busy but the service was great.
