I love Freddie's and I frequent the store in my neck of the woods-- Springfield, Oregon. I should probably take a star away for this review because Kroeger seems to think that every store in town (3) deserves an upgrade/overhaul except ours. I feel a loyalty to this store because when my daughter was a baby and fell ill, FM was the ONLY place in this town that stayed open late enough for me to buy a humidifier after 9pm. 11pm closure--- amazing. Anyway, they may not have the best meat department, but they try. Their produce is really good and rapidly improving. They have a deli and a bakery. Yay! They have a little bit of everything here, including housemates-- so you can shop here and get the WalMart experience without feeling like it's a cattle call. Way better than Wally's. This is the best store in the valley. It's always clean, plenty of places for an old guy to sit down for a minute, always get friendly checkers and I appreciate they have a great variety of items to choose from. My only complaint(s) is this new thing where they let people who handle food sport some real nasty looking beards. I've more or less avoided the deli for that reason. The store is a little warm for my taste and the parking lot gets a bit crazy at times and a below average bakery where the stuff is just trucked in. My grade was between a four and five start so just bumped it up because of the helpful people who work there. read more

Has anyone noticed the clothing in the recent few weeks? I do not normally shop at fred meyer. It is too loud. There is always beeping, buzzing, humming and alarms.But I used to buy all the hubbies shirts there in the big guy section. I could find stuff for me in the extra luscious ladies section. They took it all out and brought in DIP. DIP? I wandered over to my section.....blouses that looked like a couch from 1976. And 79.00 that is SEVENTY NINE!!! dollars. A whole rack of them. 2 more racks at 50 bucks each. Are you kidding me? I can get things cheaper at full price at Torrid. This is fred meyer for cripes sake. Half off is still 40 bucks. The worst parking lot in Puyallup. I have personally seen 2 accidents and one person run over in this parking lot. The aisles are crooked and narrow. The east side of the parking lot is an actual road but with no lines or definition to separate through traffic from parking stalls. We actually make jokes about how often the stop signs in the concrete blocks get knocked down (used to be daily if not multiple times a day). Today was the final straw as I was verbally assaulted and then had soda poured all over my vehicle for "stealing" a parking spot (since she was on the wrong side of the aisle to pull into the angled spot, and 3-4 cars back I'm not sure how I stole anything). The place is a mess. I have avoided that Starbucks due to traffic flow and now I'll avoid Freddie's. The parking lot in Sumner has a great layout. Maybe the franchise should go take notes read more

Used to love coming here. Now I get followed around and watched, like I'm stealing. Every, Single, Time. I have spent a lot of money at this store over the years, never stole anything in my life and never would. For them to discriminate because I have dreadlocks is not okay imo. I never used to get followed until I changed my hair. Do your job correctly and watch the people that are actually acting suspicious. I've never had a problem with this fred meyer until today. I used the self checkout that's by the flowers but closest to the registers. I was there at 1:40 pm Saturday January 22nd and the woman who "helped" me was exceptionally rude! Not helpful in any way what so ever! I'm a very polite person and she went out of her way to make sure I couldn't get ANY help. I tried to buy a 7 pack of lighters and I get that it asks for ID but I'm 46 years old! I've never been. I repeat NEVER BEEN DENIED PURCHASING LIGHTERS cause I didn't have my i.d.! Then having to fill up my water jug I asked if I could get 4 quarters cause I couldn't buy the lighters but, again can't give me even 4 quarters! I get you're having change shortage but it's not like I was asking for a roll of quarters! She was just RUDE, RUDE, RUDE! I worked in customer service for 23 years and I ALWAYS tried to make customers happy if I couldn't fulfill something that they originally came in for but I guess that's gone. I don't know why I even go into your stores. Your meat sucks! Your dog treats are insanely priced! You're out of half of stuff i go in for almost 100% of the time. This remodeled FM is beautiful and well stocked. But I was treated very poorly in the meat department as were some other customers. I planned on buying four prime New York steak, about $65 worth. But the counter clerk was so rude and condescending I went and bought pre packaged hamburgers instead. When I explained this to the store director, she said she'd talk with him. No apology, no offer to go get the steaks. In other words, my complaint was ignored. This is not exceptional customer service, in fact it's very poor customer treatment. I REALLY like Fred Meyer. We don't have them back in Michigan (back there they are Kroeger and I've never been a fan) but I like this location. We do most of our shopping here or at Walmart and have no complaints. It doesn't hurt that my bank (Chase) is also in here. I like having one-stop shop where you can get everything. read more

Love this place! I've been shopping here for countless years and I have never had a bad experience. I've literally bought everything and everything here. I've bought Shoes to Starbucks, from plants to produce, from CDs to cereal, I swear they have everything here. First off the store is HUGE! I mean, HUGE! It takes you a good ten minutes to get from one end of the store to the other. With all this walking I would recommend getting a Starbucks by the pastries...lol. Customer service is great. I would also highly suggest the deli. It's really fresh and yummy. Their clothes section feels like its own desperate store within the store and same with the electronics department. They also have a pretty big selection of books and magazines surprisingly. Overall, great store. Awesome place for grocery shopping....and everything else! read more

Besides the frantic, accident-waiting-to-happen parking lot, this FM beats all others hands-down. Conveniently located and just across the bridge from the DC. That certainly helps with out-of-stocks especially on the sale items. The meat and produce sections are extraordinary. The wine and cheese depts. rival Metro Mrkt or Tacoma Boys. The olive bar is a Mediterranean smorgasbord. Everyone appears to enjoy working there which is rare this day and age. Happy associates make happy customers. Keep up the good work. read more

It should be obvious most of us dislike them (I hate them.) because at peak times, the lines for a cashier checkout are painfully long and there are self service ones open. read more

This FM is awesome. I've always been a big fan of FM but I like them even better since they started remodeling some of the older stores. I really like this location a lot...the produce has really fresh stuff. I like their little deli section that even has a spot for you to sit down and eat. The staff are also super friendly. I even like the variety of household wares - furniture, rugs, decor. I will be stopping at this location more often. The only thing I didn't like was the parking lot....total cluster. I'd given it 5 stars if it weren't for the layout of the parking lot. read more

This is about the Pharmacy in the Fred Myers store in Puyallup, WA on River Road & the one in Tacoma WA by University place. My wife had a Knee replacement operation & was prescribed a pain drug that they hate prescribing for pain because its a narcotic. The pharmacy in Puyallup said they couldn't fill the prescription when it was sent to them & sent it to the pharmacy in Tacoma, so we went to the one in Tacoma to get the prescription & they told me they didn't have any prescription there. After awhile we called them again & they now told us that they sent it back to the pharmacy in Puyallup that they couldn't fill it, because it was first ordered through them. So I called the one in Puyallup & they said they were going to fill now, that there was a mistake to begin with. So I traveled back down to Puyallup to pick up the prescription & now I was told that it was sent back to the pharmacy in Tacoma. I was very mad at that point & told them they didn't know what they are doing there & got some lip back form the Pharmacist. My wife called them & told them that she needed the medication that she was in a lot of pain & they basically told her they were not filling the prescription that was sent there by the Doctor to begin with. A very cold blooded bunch at that crummy Pharmacy I would have to say, wouldn't you! We got the Doctor to send the prescription over to Safeway pharmacy & they gladly filled it for us the same day. I'd give them a zero but it wont let you do that here. There eye glasses prescription store doesn't do very good work either. We live in a day & age where business is just about money & not about professional services & manners. read more

My family has gone to this Fred Meyer for years! They are the reason why where ever I go I always try to find a Fred Meyer before I go to a Safeway or another store! Even though we have gotten to know some of the employees over the years I have seen them be so kind to all the customers that come in. I have also been using the deli more often over the last few years and they always want to help you whether its give you some extra sauces or make your sandwiches thicker than they should be! They have also come in clutch for me when I've needed different clothing. I usually shop at Nordstrom Rack for clothes but when I've needed a dress shirt or snow gloves they always have great stuff to choose from! Also now that they have a gas station that is the only place my family goes for gas groceries and anything else we need!! Plus this place is always in amazing shape! read more

Our wedding was on March 31, 2011. The Fred Meyer in Puyallup is amazing. The wine steward/manager there went above and beyond to get us the wine that we wanted at our wedding. I recently moved back to the area and went to the Fred Meyer in downtown puyallup today. It was so busy the customers and employees were rude. When I got to register the rug I had didn't have the SKU, the cashier rolled her eyes and sighed. At that point I had enough I said " its ok I don't want the rug this is the worst experience I have ever had at a Fred Meyers" (I still was not rude when I said told her) she said "ok" rang my stuff up and handed me my receipt... This Fred Meyer has the friendliest staff i have seen in many Fred Meyers. Christina (the checker) and Boris (Electronics) are very helpful and considerate. The staff, as a whole, are friendly and willing to help. Lines are usually not too long and there is always killer clothing sales going on. read more

My favorite place for groceries, especially if I'm cooking up a special dinner for guests. Probably one of the better places to buy produce in Puyallup. It's not Whole Foods but I'm usually able to find what I want with decent quality (I'm a bit picky as I worked in a high end store in produce for about 10 years). The wine department rivals Metro Mkt or Tacoma Boys (amazing selection and really good prices and something is always on sale). The cheese selection is second to none - better than Met Mkt in Tacoma. (I can get Spanish Manchego, quince paste, marcona almonds all in one spot). The olive bar is the best! Service deli has a nice selection. Meat dept and bakery are pretty good. (I like Top Food's bakery better). Fill up the car at the gas pumps with your 10 cent a gallon discount for FM Rewards - retail prices are decent. Down grades? To quote Allen B they have a "frantic, accident-waiting-to happen parking lot." Checkers are OK and fairly competent (Top Foods' have them beat) Never get in line with customers that have lots of GM items - there always seems to be a price check looming..... Pharmacy - plan to wait a looooong time. read more

When my husband was deployed And i needed help (my hands were full with twin babies) the staff worked as a team to ensure that i was able to get from point a to point b with everything i needed. The staff are always polite and kind, i love the natural food supply. Their prices actually arent much higher than walmart AND the lines are much shorter. The only thing i dislike is the wait at the seafood dept, there has been countless times where i have been ignored or not even serviced at all :( read more

This downtown Puyallup Fred Meyer is disgusting. A health hazard continuously violating public health and safety laws and inspections by the Health Dept. People bring in their pets, dogs mostly, but even others such as a pony. Management are afraid to challenge customers. Animals are in the shopping carts in the produce, deli and bakery section. The carts are not washed after. A checker told me she almost git bit by one dog. I personally saw a dog fight in the canned food section. A disgrace. Management simply dont care, neither does their HQ at Kroger. read more

Its even more convenient because there is a Chase bank right here. Its also like 2 mins from my house! The main draw back is the parking lot its little hard to navigate but over all not terrible. We have been shopping at Fred Meyers on Meridian for several years. I really like the updated remodeling and layout of their products. The reason to drop two stars is the increase in tweakers and money beggars asking for change. I am also bothered by vendors at their gas station pretending to be dressed in their yellow and orange safety vests walking around bugging you to sell their amazing car products! I normally would give this FM high marks, but a recent furniture purchase went so badly that I have to warn others. When buying items for delivery, know the following: they will call you (or not in my case) a week after you buy and pay for your order. After they call you they will schedule a delivery appointment in another 2 weeks. Sounds crazy, right? After calling customer service and not getting an answer and after writing 2 emails to corporate with no response, I cancelled the order and purchased furniture at Mor. They delivered the same day. Got the goods cheaper and same day delivery. By the way, the customer service guy who handled my refund was great and so was the manager. That's why I give them 2 stars instead on none. read more

Got here at 10:30 pm (finally getting home after leaving at 5 am to avoid traffic). Was followed around & harassed by a store employee asking same question over & over. Made the mistake of answering this person. So she got right up in my face repeating same question over & over. Turns out she did not want to know the answer to this question. Instead, she was trying prevent me from walking past the closed registers. No idea why. Why not post a sign if something is off-limits - or else just inform people in a straightforward manner?? Finally found customer service desk (which has moved), but decided I did not wish to spend any more money in a store where I am followed around & harassed. Have literally been shopping here my entire life, since infancy when it used to be called "HiHo". Could produce many & many a receipt to prove it. Don't plan to return. read more
