I try to go thru the one closing explain why, Sorry Iam closed. I run up to service desk, sorry I can only ring 5 items, remember I have 8, I explain why I came to her looks at me and repeatedly says only 5. She says there are 5 lanes open,again for the 5th time I say they are minors. No budge, no customer give a crap and no one else is in line, just me.So I go to quick check wait in line again to pay for 3 items. I have made a decision, Winco has some good prices but my time and the way Iam treated is worth more than they can give in prices. When people used to tell me they refuse to shop Winco I didn't understand but OH I do now. You won't catch me there again. Fred Meyer Is up the street And prices are looking pretty good. Stopped by the cafe inside the market and ordered an Iced Lavender Matcha and the famous chocolate chip cookie 'The Cookie'. The Iced Lavender Matcha was good. However, it was VERY SWEET. You could definitely taste the lavender syrup that they used in the drink. The lavender flavor overpowered whatever amount of matcha was in the drink. The Cookie was great! Love eating them warm!

I tend to only shop here when I need certain food items, such as milk, eggs or certain fruits or vegetables. I've been living down in this booney area due to a new job relocation, and hence, have to put up shopping for groceries at this store. Most of the workers (but not all of them) here are rude, racist and prejudice. They don't even give eye contact to me, and don't even greet me when shopping. Terrible. I just went to this store 30 minutes ago, and this is probably the 100th time I've been here. Your typical white/haole customers standing in front of me can't even place an item divider at the check out behind their food. Yet, when I do the same thing to them when they're behind me, they give me the stink eyes. What hypocrits. The cashier guy, Mike Baker, also didn't even greet me with a good morning or "how are you today?" greeting. Terrible customer service. Great place to shop if you're a white redneck - typical of puyallup, washington locals. read more

It's not a very large store, but it's good enough to serve the Northshore neighboring community. I've found their staff to be friendly except one guy in the hot deli department. One of my visits he came off rather abrupt and rude but everyone else was nice, so maybe he was having a bad day. I haven't seen him in a while. I'll be back!

Grocery Outlet sells them for $6.99 per 1# box and says on the price card You save 1.63 or something similar. NONSENSE. Every grocery store in town sells them for $5.99 or less and the one grocery store that has a name that starts with "Win", sells them for $4.89. So HOW is Grocery Outlets price 40 to 70% off? It's not. You can do that with 95% of everything in the store. It is a scam. Additionally, many of the items they sell are near the expiration date or are weird brand names you've probably never heard of (pickles from India). Some non-food items do have good prices, but mostly this place is nothing but false advertising. On occasion you can find sale items that are close to the same price as your local grocery store (5% savings maybe), but again, nowhere near 40 to 70% off.

This is not surprising since Filipinos have lived in the south end (Algona, Auburn, and Kent) since the early 1900s. The community has grown since then. Everyone has a reason for standing in line. The bag drops are cultural moments. It's someone is sacrificing their time for the elders. It's a reunion of friends and family. It's having conversations with strangers. It's a social event. I've witnessed it, experienced it, and embraced it. The two employees managed the mini tote bag distribution pretty well. An excited ajumma tried to grab the bags Black Friday style. The first employee went into linebacker mode and protected the bags but also themselves. The secondary employee politely and respectfully spoke with the customer in their native language. I'm guessing the conversation was about the process because the customer paused and listened to him attentively. I'm surprised there isn't a TJ's in Renton or Southcenter. Just like in football, this is a missed opportunity. If I were living in a state or country that didn't have a TJ's, I'd do a shopping haul before getting on the plane at Sea-Tac.
