Miles at this location just knocked my socks off with GREAT customer service! I was shopping at this location for the "buy 2, get 2 for free" deal on the 4 pack of my favorite beverage. There were only 3 on the shelf. I asked Miles if there were any in back-stock, and he promptly checked for me, but sadly there were none left. Privately I was prepared for the usual "sorry, can't do it" at that point, but he wasn't done helping me yet- So this amazing fellow gets 4 (cold!) individual cans to "make" a four pack, completing the deal and I happily left with what I sought, in a clever roundabout way. Happy not only that your great ad price was honored, but that a younger person totally "gets" what customer service is all about! I'll always visit this location loyally, remembering Miles and his thoughtful service. How many others like him are there, anxious to find out!

As a Vegas girl who was used to having grocery stores open at all hours, I'm so grateful that Tacoma boys has adopted that Vegas vibe. Out of all fairness not being familiar with the store to find items really wouldn't be fair to deduct stars on. I was in here maybe once or twice and as to be expected in an unfamiliar store you can't find the product you enjoy right away but on the flip side when the arrangement of the store is different you also find things you didn't previously see from your favorite locations. And in the case of Tacoma Boys that really isn't an exception. But however I didn't like the arrangement in a different regard as it seemed like there were a lot of blind corners with the aisles here making possible collisions with other customers a greater likelihood and I am not convinced many people can control their shopping carts any better than controlling their cars. Which brings up the factor of congestion which is noticeably increased due to the mall and various other shops and business around here increasing the traffic volume and congestion a great deal. The Tacoma and Lakewood locations don't have this trouble nearly as much. The two factors mentioned above is what contributes to my star deduction. But still if you are close to this location and you are willing to put up with the volume of traffic then this is still a good grocery store to go to. The quality of the groceries, the produce is excellent and they have a good beer and wine section if that is something you want to explore.

For us the deli is the hub & Gloria is the best! We order multiple containers of salads & ceviche to take home. In comparison to the other Winco's, they are the BEST hands down! The pea salad is creamy & you can taste every ingredient in it. The bacon, the onion, the peas, the cheese & they meld together so good. In other Winco's, I'm sorry to say, I find them always lacking in something . The ceviche? Omgoodness! The awesome thing about this particular Winco is, they take the time to shred the crab meat. I don't know if that's a big deal for you but for us, we like to get meat in every bite of our crab salads or ceviche. The other Winco's leave big chunks of crab (to each his own) & you either get crab or salad ‍. Today when we went in, they we're out of ceviche. Gloria literally stopped making what she was making & told my hubby to come back in 15 min & she would have the ceviche ready for us. Look you can go to the other market on 70th and get very good stuff and pay quite a lot more, or go to Kusher and get a better selection and pay reasonable prices. There seemed to be no sense of order or numbers being called so we were confused after waiting 10 min. just for pastries to be taken out of the window and handed to us. But it was quite busy so we waited patiently. 15 minutes goes by and still no numbers being called so we were confused and noticed that others were standing in a line to one of the registers so I decided to just wait in line even though I waited in line already to use the kiosk and ordered & paid already. I waited about 6-7 min. in line and when we got up to the front I told the cashier that I was sorry, we did not know we had to order at the register but that we ordered and paid at the kiosk and gave her my number and my son's and she picked up our order receipts on her side of the counter and looked at them and told me that someone would help us in a few minutes and set the receipts down and took the next customer, so we assumed someone was going to work on our order. So we moved over in front of the pastries again and waited. And waited. While the girl I had just spoken to was taking orders from others in line and making and bagging/boxing their orders AS they ordered with her. Completely ignoring the fact that we had just waited in line again and had already paid for our orders and she chose to skip our order, not box them and took others orders after telling me that someone would be with us. She took several orders for about 15 more minutes and still no one helped us, so I went to stand in line again because now at this point it seemed purposeful and discriminatory as she took orders and fulfilled orders as soon as she took them and ignored us. We are not of European/Ukranian descent and did not speak the language but the customers she helped all did. So now, after being more than patient I was getting angry. We had been waiting for more than 40-45 minutes at this point. AFTER we had already ordered and PAID. I kept looking at her thinking she is going to pack our order but she kept working on others, but she made eye contact with me many times, knowing we were waiting. Finally when I was about to say something to another clerk she comes over and asks us if we wanted it packed together. Like we had not been made to wait for over 40 minutes till she acknowldged us. No apology, nothing. She packed our 3 pastries and we were not happy at all, especially after leaving a tip at the kiosk. I did not get her name but she was the only dark-haired/brunette behind the counter. The saving grace was the cashier at the front, a very friendly gentleman who saved our trip but not enough to want to come back to your market again. I understand being busy, I work in the food industry-but to have no direction, no sense of urgency, no customer service skills at all and to be made to feel like the bad service was purposeful, no thank you. We don't need to visit again. Which is sad because I love to learn about other cultures and enjoy their cuisine and the market was delightful and everything we purchased was delicious but we know when we are not welcome at an establishment so we will spend our money elsewhere. After posting this review I went and read how many others felt discriminated against as people of color(we are Asian), and see a theme here. If more than one customer has felt this way, obviously this is an issue that has not been addressed. Again, the cashier at the market was very friendly but your servers behind the cafe/deli counter need some training on customer service and discriminating practices. Such a shame for a business to allow this behavior to continue.

Actually bought a lot of Chocolate, Christmas wrappers, a Big Christmas Tree, toys for kids, and souvenirs all on sale!!! Pretty good deals for all of the stuff we got. Browsing around was a little bit of a hassle since there were a lot of people, but we were able to find what we liked. The Checkout process was very good. The cashier was kind and super speedy. Very friendly and provided us with great customer service.
