this store has a better natural food section than benson hill, my usual store. my aunt lives in the highlands so i bring her here to shop instead of benson hill. i was happy to see there is a tully's coffee, but had such a horrible experience that i will never get coffee there again. DORI was working that day. man, what a BITCH! when i walked up to the counter, she and a guy were working behind the espresso machine. i stood there for a full minute, ignored, until i asked if i could order some coffee. without even looking at me she said in a snarky tone, "sure, when we finish the order ahead of you." why does it take 2 people to make 1 beverage? and why can't you acknowledge me in the first place? then the guy came over to take my order and was very nice. otherwise, the rest of the store is ok. the cashiers are friendly and sometimes there are friendly associates to help find things. the center island in the produce separating the wet organics is very confusing since the dry are several aisles away. but at least they don't put organic potatoes, avocados, garlic and onions in the fridge, like benson hill does. read more

The store is diverse in customers, and a great place to shop. Staff are friendly and the shelves are full all of the time. It is a large enough store that you can find a good selection of items whether in the grocery store or other departments. I have been coming here since they tore down the former Sears store that was in the location and have had very good shopping experiences there. read more

Store is well kept. Walk in from the grocery entrance and you instantly see all the season's fruit on display. Self check out is the way to go, especially if you are in a rush. The parking lot can be a little chaotic since it is shared with multiple businesses. read more

This is for the fish monger lady. Shes rude and tried to sell me 2.5 pounds of cod when I asked for 1.5. Got home, opened the package and ammonia smell of decomposing fish. She shouldn't be working around food or with the public. Pleasant experience with others in this store just not her. read more

I always go to Fred Meyers when they open, so there isn't any long lines when I go. I have never had any problems with there employees being unfriendly. Any chain store that you go to in Renton in the afternoon you will almost always have long lines. read more

Fred Meyers are always good. Except that in Oregon they don't carry the Kroger brand Pepper Jack that I like. Oh well. Such is life.

This place is my one stop shop if I need anything it's great and I will most likely find the items at a great price! But their customer service is not the greatest and I'm mainly talking about their security guards. They act as if they're an actual cop and handle situations like a smartass. I almost got backed into by a car that was backing out of the parking lot AFTER I started walking behind them and they still continued to back up until I started shouting for them to stop because I had kids with me still walking too. After that situation the security guard asked if I was okay and then I just said "not really, I almost got ran over but I'm alive." and then he faces his friend a Fred Meyers sales associate and says "then you shouldn't be walking in the street." I was furious, clearly I wasn't just lolli gagging in the streets I was in a parking lot where drivers should be looking out for people that are going to the store. This place doesn't have designated walkways from the parking lot that let you walk safely to the store. You have to walk through the parking lot. This dude was a major asshole and needs to get off the pedestal he sits so high on. The only reason why I give them two stars is because they have most of the products I need. read more

Friendly prompt service from the optometrist, prices more reasonable than Walmart. It was in network for my Aetna plan, however out of pocket payment appeared reasonably priced as well. Great service, good frame selection with help from the front desk. Glad I came! read more

I've been going to this Fred Meyer for about 20 years. There are plenty of parking, the aisles are wide, & check outs are quick most of the time. Their prices are low & competitive with other grocers. Besides being a big grocery, there's also a pharmacy, a bank, electronics store, and a huge separate area for clothing & big selection of shoes. They just opened up a Fred Meyer gas station near the entrance that is clean and easy to navigate. The prices here are usually one of the lowest in the area. There are other big groceries in the area but I find myself coming here most of the time. read more

I had a great visit here! I went grocery shopping and saved a lot of money with the prices they have here. Otherwise the clothes and furniture looked a little spendy. I had a sweet conversation with the cashier lady, very friendly. When I went to the pharmacy, I was all out of my medication so I wasn't feeling the best, but the two people at the counter I spoke to were very comforting. Fred Meyer's got great prices on food, the employees are helpful, and the items they have are consistent (aren't ever sold out of anything I've ever noticed either). It's an easy location to get in and out of, and like all Fred Meyer locations it is good for one-stop shopping. I just moved to this area so I thought I would check Fred Meyer out. I approached the deli and the deli worker was very friendly. I asked for "Colby jack cheese sliced thin". It was then that I started to sense attitude. There was "pre-sliced" Colby jack cheese sitting in the deli case which was sliced who knows when. I repeated "yes, sliced thin". The response was "you mean what I have here in the deli case?" (which was sliced thick by the way). I didn't have the energy to fight with the employee today. I don't want your "pre-sliced" food. I'm not in a hurry so I can wait until it is sliced fresh. So, no thanks. I will not be returning to Safeway or Fred Meyer because I have had the same problem at both stores. read more

Don't go into the jewelry department, at the Renton center store unless you're willing to spend a lot of money. The customer service is poor. I went there to get an adjustment on a piece of jewelry which I had received as a gift. I was greeted by one person who was filling out paperwork and she had directed me to the specialist to fix my piece of jewelry. The repair specialist did not acknowledge me, I had to ask the first person who had greeted me to get the other's attention and was treated dismissively. I had been waiting 5 minutes already and then continued to wait again, still not acknowledged by the specialist, nor anyone else in this department. There were two other salespeople, who were both fawning over another customer who was spending money on some jewelry. At one point the repair person stood up to look around, saw me and didn't say anything. It had been another 10 minutes and I began to internally debate whether or not to stay. I had chosen to leave as I had other places to be. Mission not accomplished. Very disappointed and won't return to this particular jeweler. read more

This is where I shop. Why? Because it's close. But I keep wondering, when will FM Renton get its act together? The light in the Fred Meyer sign has been broken for months. A few parking spots in the lot can't be used because they become small ponds whenever it rains. Then there is the frequently frustrating shopping experience. Every time I go there, something that I need is out of stock. Yesterday, they were out of 3 items on my list, bulk raisins, the yogurt I like and serrano peppers. To top it all off, the strawberries I purchased were left out my shopping bag, I paid for them, but came home without them. read more

Scary location. Went inside a while ago and was going to let my 6 year old hang out in the kids area. Person watching the kids was alone and busy watching a soap opera. She said he was to old. I LOVE FM! Easy one stop shopping, They have an eye glass shop, pharmacy, bank, jewelers, daycare, two coffee shops, and a deli available inside. I always start my trip with CAFFINE.....as I know i will need it. I then drop my son off at the free daycare, get my prescriptions, money orders, lotto tickets and groceries. When I bring my son along they have great car shaped carts that keep him busy.Our first stop is usually the toy section and when were tired of playing we then head to the Deli for mac & cheese and sushi. After we order we take a seat in their huge seating area to eat. If you have room after lunch, the bakery is right next to you. If you pass through you cant say no,they have cocoa puff covered doughnuts, that'll make ya go nuts! When all is said and done, they have tons of checkout stands including self check-out, and the staff is always friendly. As you walk out, dont forget to stop at the redbox so you can relax and watch movies after your long day at Freddy's. I read other comments about people begging for moneyso I wanted to address this. I have lived right behind the Downtown Renton location for 8 years and I have NEVER been asked for money. I have seen homeless people with signs up by the intersection, but I have never been approched! People say it's a "bad" location. I beg to differ, what Downtown doesn't have homeless people? People that consider this a "bad' location would probebly crap themselves if they ever stepped foot in my old neighborhood in Downtown Seattle. read more

The 2 things that gets this store all of the stars is the friendly staff and the large natural food area. In most area they are just another Grocery store. They are they really fail is in their Rewards. Every were you turn they a pushing you on their rewards program. But they are constanty finding new ways to give you less and take away what you should be getting. If your not a large family who does almost all their shopping here then you might as well give up on getting rewards because they are non existant. read more

The store inside is nice, but ouitside... omg what a nightmare for drivers and pedestrians. This is a very busy store and to have 2 main driveways converge in front of the store entrance is a dream of a sadist! The only way to walk into the store is by walking through the intersection. The driveway to Rainier Ave will get you stuck if you want to turn right if the car in front of you is going straight. The cars going straight and turning right are sharing the same lane. There is also an absolutely mindless driveway to the south that leads you to nowhere. But the most bizarre and dangerous is the driveway to/from SR900(Sunset/MLK highway). The design is so outdated for the amount of traffic that passes by here. Right before you approach this intersection coming from FredMeyer, another road is merging on your left, then if you have to make a left turn to SR900 it gets very tense and confusing as oncoming traffic comes from 2 different streets. I have seen a few accidents there already. Besides the bizarre lane alignment, this parking lot has a lot of creepy characters lurking and trying to strike conversations with you. It's just a messy poorly designed parking lot with mentally ill people and obnoxious teenagers coming from transit center but they don't go inside really. The store is nice inside. read more

I never write reviews for grocery stores but today i wasn't going to let it go. I came to Fred Meyer to get pork riblets. I asked the guy working at the meat station if they had any cause I didn't see any. He came to help me, but he knows nothing about cuts of meat! Why the heck is he working there? He was lifting stuff up and asking ME if it was it. "is it this one?" Then he asked the people in the back, and she said she put six packs out earlier today. We finally found one hiding between other meats but it was four times the amount I needed. I asked the guy at the meat counter if they would be able to package one with the amount I needed. He said he will go ask. He came back and said yes they can, but they are running behind on their work, so it will be done in 1 and 1/2 hrs. Are you joking me?! Putting your laziness over a paying customer that pays for your pay check. I told him, thats ridiculous and left. I was passing by the bread going to check out and an old lady looked at me and said "smile your on candid camera." Sweet lady, noticed something was wrong.
