He was the only mechanic in Pomona that actually explained to me the whole process of what might be the issue to my vehicle when I brought in my codes (basically the diagnosis you get from Autozone or O Reilly's) to him. Freddie is a blast from the past - Honest, and Caring personal attention, no BS. We recently purchased a used Prius. I wanted to know about the car, so I purchased all the parts - oil/filter, cabin, and engine filter. Unfortunately, most shops wouldn't do the job with my parts. Fred was sympathetic, as I'd ordered the wrong filter. He ordered correct filter, had it delivered and installed in no time. He was very busy, we arrived around noon. Fred and his mechanic were amazing. I was actually able to see where parts were removed and replaced (This was very helpful, as I wanted to know about the Prius) - "Try doing this at the dealer" A bigger issue was discovered - Large battery under trunk has a filter that cools batteries many cells. We will bring car back next week AM; and they will clean this filter, as it will save the most expensive part on the car. read more

I have a BMW X5, I took it in to replace valve cover gasket . I don't know Freddy and I usually have trust issue with mechanics or shops, but I never got that vibe/feeling with him. I was spending a few days in the quinte area with my wife when we had car trouble. It happened at 6pm when they were closed, the tow truck driver left our number on the car. 8 am as soon as they opened, I got a call from Dale asking about the car, he told me they would look at is as soon as possible, by 9 am they called me back, told me the problem, and they fixed it quickly. First he said it was the hose so I paid170 . light came back on than he said it was water pump  which said was going to be 900 dollars !!!! So i decided to take it to another mechanic and the water pump was just fine .I would not recommend ! Be very cautious !!! I tried so hard to write a review without bashing !!! He likes to educate his customers so you know how he prices his services and so you know what is normal and what isn't (so thankful). I am commenting again because we just got a fresh one. There are those that say that Freddie can work automotive miracles. Let me give you an example ... the car's electrical system is seriously on the fritz. The drivers side headlight is out, the car was having trouble starting up, and finally it would not start at all. All manner of home diagnostics were undertaken. We swapped out the headlight bulb, had the charger on the battery, checked the fuses, and checked the various connections with the volt meter. Nothing worked, and the problems seemed to be getting worse. After almost a month of this, we took the car down to Freddie's. Got a call maybe 2 - 3 hours later, the same day, saying the car was ready to be picked up. Headed down there, and Freddie said he couldn't find anything wrong with it. No charge. It's been fine ever since. "All he did was look at the car and it fixed it". read more

Well - back here again and can't say enough for Freddy and his crew in Pomona. I also hear about him from friends we referred to go there. They all come back to thank us for recommending him as he is honest, reasonably priced and to the point. His secretary at the front desk, Mary, is a great help now and she expedites the service and is a welcoming presence to a great place. We have tried other mechanics because we now live over 35 miles away but we have learned the hard way to stick with Freddy. Some of the other places tell you one thing and do the other or overcharge or try to sell you a bill of goods of ALL the things that need to be fixed when that is not true. Freddy will tell you when something needs to be replaced or repaired and on more than 6 or 7 occasions when told by others it needed to be totally replaced he said it just needed to be repaired. He will give you pictures of the old parts and of the process of repairing your car. He's been in business like some 25 or more years and knows what he's doing and what needs to be done. Having been financially strapped over the years he really takes care to treat you with respect and understands how some other less honest mechanics take advantage of their customers. My daughter is an out of state college student and her car broke down this week. She is new to the area and didn't know anything about finding a reliable auto repair shop. I graduated from the Claremont Colleges recently and have been trying to get by in little old Southern California. As a Brooklyn(NY) Native Socal freeways are an exhilarating experience or the bane of my existence. An advisor of mine referred me to Freddie upon telling him I was thinking about getting a car. I thought the gesture kind, yet premature. WAS I WRONG. I purchased my first car this summer and for all the rankings the Colleges can get, they surely can't get a hang of teaching you practical life lessons. After Freddie asked me if I had put water in my car at any point.... I knew I was in over my head. (Gas, duh. Water, whodathunk?) Fred has kept my car from blowing up about twice now, referenced me to the best alternate service providers (tires etc.), and made the cost of repairs reasonable enough for me to get some In-N-Out financially guilt-free on the way home.
