Lupe's Auto Center is one of the best auto center's I've gone to for help with my car. I've been having this strange noise some mornings with the start up of my car and decided to bring my car to Lupe's because of the raving reviews, and guys let me tell you, he is hands down the most honest auto shop owners I've ever had the fortunate of meeting. I've been to many and have more often than not, felt like I was looked down upon or offered repairs I did not really need (for example, I've been told that my filter was old even when I had just replaced it 10 days ago), but Eric was absolutely wonderful, attentive, and is very knowledgable. His shop is spacious, has a small fenced lot for your car, and you can tell that he really cares about his shop and his customers. When I inquired about an appointment on his website, he called me pretty much the next day and he really took the time to get to know my concern, asking great questions and never rushing me when I did not know exactly how to explain the noise. I loved the way he talked about the issue, it was mindful and detailed. You could tell from that conversation that he takes his job seriously and is passionate about it too. He allowed my partner to drop my car off on a Monday and tried very hard to duplicate the issue, unfortunately he was not able to and we had a great conversation on the plan to move forward, he also was understanding and acknowledged that he did not want to hold my car too much longer knowing it is difficult to go without transportation. Eric was flexible and kind, just a genuinely great person and business owner. I definitely will be back to him for all my car needs. A check engine light came on in my car while I was about an hour drive from my home. I stopped at a automotive repair shop to see what it was, this place told me it would co $2,004.82, I left and drove to Autozone near my home, they gave me the print out wi the code, I made an appointment with Lupe's which I have been a customer for over 15 years. After dropping my car off, Lupe's test had the same code as Autozone, the cost was only $798.00 , thank God for the honesty of Lupe's, this is why I only trust my auto work to Lupe's, I have referred several family members who are very pleased with the work that Lupe's Auto does. read more

I took my truck to Lupe's because it had a small coolant leak. Initially it seemed like the issue was fixed when I brought the truck home. But when I went to drive the truck later, coolant was streaming out from under the car. I took it back to the shop where it stayed for 12 days without being looked at. When they finally did give an update on the car, things were off with the diagnostic. They mentioned a timing belt, when the truck has a timing chain. They also said there was no way to fix the issue without removing the engine (which of course, costs more). This ended up not being the case. Ultimately they wanted to charge me thousands again to fix the leaking which was in the same general area and should have been caught when I took the truck in the first time. In my opinion, their diagnostics are lacking and they have convenient loopholes to not honor their guarantee. Caveat emptor if you choose to come here. read more

I have been going to dealers for decades And the service that has gotten worse over the years and the cost have been crazy high. I found Lupe's on line about a year and a half ago. They have been great. they are honest and do what they say. The latest Issue had to do with the gauge for charging. I took it in, they diagnose the problem. Eric called me and got approval for the work the same day. They were going to replace the alternator and belt, after looking at the belt the decided it was still in good shape and didn't need to change it . This saved us money. The work was done the next day and ready to pick up. The dealer would have been a week. I only have good things to say about Lupe's. read more

I brought in my 2015 Honda Civic that I just bought online to get it checked out by a mechanic. Eric was the one who helped me. He was very knowledgeable and professional. He took it on a test ride, hooked it to a computer to check for codes, took pictures of a few concerns, and even rotated my tires. He took the time to go over a few things with me. Even found that one of the axles has gone bad, sure enough I took it to a Honda dealership and they found the axle had failed. I wouldn't have noticed that, he saved me a couple hundred bucks since the Powertrain warranty is going to expire soon. Very nice customer service and they seem to do good work! Long over-due review! If you like supporting small family run businesses, this place has never disappoints. Eric and his family have been taking care of my family's car needs for years. Not one of my family or friends have ever had a problem, in fact, they have gone over and beyond making sure we were taken care of with honest upfront pricing and great turn around time. During Covid, and the worst time while my dad was on a ventilator, 2 of our 3 cars went out, we needed our cars so we could visit him. They were really busy when I called, explained the situation. Eric walked me through having AAA tow the first car up with the keys, he met the driver and had the car back to us later the next day. As soon as we received that car back we had the next one towed on a Monday that had a major problem. On Wednesday I was shocked and received a call that the car was ready! They made one of the toughest times in our family's lives easier, and will never forget what they did, they treated us like family. We all feel the same towards them. I'm Not sure If It's Professional Courtesy, or Their Parents raised them to be amazing, or they are simply REALL REALLY loveable people, but the mechanics, the young lady in the front, and Eric are heaven sent, not only do they break down precisely what needs to be repaired, they educate you about the consequences of neglecting certain repairs, and help You prioritize the immediate car repair needs, and they do it with such a kind spirit, I was really like " here take my money"!! which never happens in my head- like ever! Financially wise I'm not sure what the comparison would be, but as a woman- whose heard so many horror stories of being taken advantage of by mechanics because we are women, this place receives a 5 star for ensuring I do not feel any sort of inequality . Great place, honest mechanics, great prices. I need an oil & filter change, and tire rotation. I called in the morning and was told they were really busy but Eric checked the schedule and said they could squeeze me in in the afternoon. I work down the street so I dropped my car off about an hour before the time Eric gave me and it was ready to go when I got off work a few hours later. My battery is always drained because of a speaker and amp I have (the shop I took it to for install didn't hook up a line out converter cuz they suck). So the guys over at Lupe's left my car on without having it started and the battery died (I wasn't mad cuz they didn't know). So they charged it up and then tested and diagnosed my battery (free of charge, I might add) just to give me an idea of how soon I may need to buy a new one. Eric asked if I had any questions so I asked about the tire pressure because I tend to get flats from always having to drive thru construction zones. {Seriously, why is there always construction EVERYWHERE you go in California??} He said they checked the pressure during the rotation and they were all good. And when he was done explaining the battery status report to me (and gave me a copy to keep!) he went back out and checked the tread on all of the tires. I have been looking for an honest and fair priced mechanic for a while because I don't always have time to change my own brake pads and oil... Lupe's is that place. You think that people are fair and honest but the stereotype is usually true, mechanics do tend to take advantage of women because they think we don't know a headlight from a taillight. And it has happened to me many times before. But not at Lupe's! I will be bringing my cars back for all things maintenance. read more
