We ordered a plethora of burgers and fries with our group while I was expecting the DELICIOUS shakes to be the main event it actually went to the sweet potato fries!! Holy YUMMMM!!! The service was a bunch of teenagers or college students working their summer job but still incredibly nice, helpful, and eager to please. It was pretty hot outside so we opted to sit inside - the tables were a bit cramped but I loved the old school, chill vibe in there. First time here and surprisingly both my husband and I agree it was a tasty meal. Inside reminded us of a something you'd see in the 80s. Four tables (booths) inside and outside seating. Service was quick and easy to order and not long to get food after placing order. My classic was cooked perfectly and loved the pickled red onions. Got an order of mozzarella sticks and wow they had the perfect cheese pull. My husband got the BBB and waffle fries - again cooked right and flavorful. Ordered Donut candies and they were not good. Donuts were not fresh. Use to be really good here. Many other options elsewhere.

The burger I received was smashed so flat that nothing about it w juicy or tender. It was very over cooked. The bun was flattened as well, the whole thing was falling apart as I unwrapped it. I wouldn't return. Five Guy's has them beat by a mile. We had take out so I can't address the ambiance. read more

My husband & I ordered our burgers and drinks at the same time. The cashier verbally confirmed our orders and gave us both cups for our drinks His food arrived timely. His smashburger was excellent. I never received my order. I asked the cashier about my order. She confirmed verbally what I'd ordered and checked with the cook. She never put my order in. She said she would asked for a rush. Mason Dixon Cafe owns this burger place which is iconic in Fredericksburg because it used to be Mr Dee's and burger place that was around for a very long time. About a 1-1.5: We stopped by Eats Burgers when we were in the area, excited to see a local burger place that also offers hot dogs, fried seafood, and desserts. We ordered: +the Eats Classic burger - this was a quarter pound of local beef used for the smashburger; came with American cheese, pickled red onions, lettuce, and tomatoes; we did request for the Eats sauce to be on the side, but they forgot it; I wasn't a fan of this, as I thought the patty was not seasoned, and the buns were a little off; the hubs enjoyed it, though! +a Chili Dog - this is usually served with a deep-fried all beef foot long dog, but you can make it 'battered & stuffed' (which, I did) at an upcharge; I was curious in how this would turn out, as I was thinking a corn dog type of a situation; it was more like a funnel cake batter, but it was super thick and dense, which made it unenjoyable; I also wasn't a fan of the type of hot dog they were used; this was topped with cheese sauce, sour cream, and jalapenos, but the guacamole and the pico were missing... +a Large Waffle Fries with Cheese Sauce for Dunking - the waffle fries were well-fried and crispy; the cheese sauce was okay; I felt that it had a heavy 'flour-like' taste to it Once you order, you pick it up from their Pick-Up Window (if you're sitting inside), or they bring your orders out to you if you happen to be sitting outside. Gluten free buns, so my wife is happy. It's rare that she gets to enjoy a burger on a bun, and she said the bun was perfect. Held together nicely. Bacon blue cheese, and she was happy. Sweet potato fries were very good. I had the foot long hotdog with excellent onion rings. The dog was a philly cheesteak topping, quite tasty. Great smash burger that's decently priced if you only get one patty. The kids meal is the size of a regular meal, and the fries were soooo yummy! These waffle fries are 10x better than chick-fil-a's waffle fries. Did not try a milkshake, but saw what they look like and they look yummy! Decided to try Eats Burgers instead of a chain burger place. I am glad we did! I ordered a smash burger with tomatoes and grilled onions and onion rings, our other order was a smash bacon cheeseburger with waffle fries. The server was friendly and brought the order to our table hot and fresh. The onion rings were amazing! The decor was warm inviting and had a diner vibe to it with outdoor seating. Hands down our favorite burger and fried seafood place in town. Many of their options are good, and if you aren't satisfied, they're fairly well about making things right. We do think the service is rather show for the type of food we order there, but it's much better than other fast food joints around. There's lovely outdoor seating for the most part. Just be advised that there isn't much air conditioned seats aside from a few booths inside. You will be near those ordering and cooking if inside, but that's part of the atmosphere of this kind of place. read more

I ordered the eats classic (w/no cheese or onion) and made it a small combo with fries and drink for an extra $2.99. The eats sauce has a great flavor, the bun is soft and not dense/dry, and the fries are extra crispy. That's about $10 for an adult meal which I think is fair. You pay the same/if not more at fast food places. Not pictured was my child's kids meal which was $7.99 for 2 huge fresh chicken tenders, fries, and drink. So $20 w/tax for 2 meals. I think that is fair in this market and the quality of food is worth it. Their waffle fries basket is also 10/10. read more

I really wanted to like this place. A cool, retro vibe. Good location with outdoor picnic tables and a couple tables inside. The service was slow, but I didn't really mind that because they have just opened. The fries were terrible. I had to throw them away because they were so salty. Sooo much salt. The chicken tenders are gluten free and fried in rice flour. They have no flavor. The burger was the worst. Pretty much tasted like a McDonald's happy meal. The bun completely fell apart and it was cold. Too expensive for what you get. Burger with gf bun was $9 and to add the small portion of inedible waffle fries another $4. Basically $13 for a happy meal. Skip this place and head to five guys. Apparently this place is owned by the same folks as mason Dixon cafe but you would have never guessed it. This is a very new burger joint that recently opened up and after reading VERY MIXED reviews on social media, I felt I needed to try it for myself and stopped in for a burger during lunch. They took an older carry-out joint and remodeled is decently to make it more appealing than it was and turned this into a sandwich and burger joint. There were lots of people working inside, to take orders, clean the few dining tables they had and in the back-of-house. I placed my order and it took about 15 minutes for them to call my number - I only ordered one burger, their "American" burger, which is a basic cheeseburger. Once I got my burger, it barely looked like it was worth the $6.99 (plus tax) I paid! All I saw was bun!! I opened it to see a very light coating of shredded lettuce on the heel. There was a little sauce on it and an "ok" amount of pickled red onions on it as well. The flavors were decent.... The bun was toasted on the inside, but completely un-toasted on the outside, so it was cold and "rubbery" on the crown of the bun.... Not impressive, which is sad, because it looks like and interesting and unique bun they have made for them. (Hint to the owners - it needs to be put in a toaster so the inside is toasted and the outside is warmed properly). The beef patty was simply SAD! It was thin, like a "reg" burger from McDonalds. It was thin and didn't offer much flavor. It seemed to be of a very low weight too. Overall, this wasn't an impressive, or even likeable visit... If they don't fix things VERY SOON, they are going to have problems staying in business. I find that to be sad, because I love Mason Dixon, and this is part of that chain. Read mixed reviews, but the husband and I figured we give Eats Burgers a go this evening. Let me start of by saying that the employees were friendly and we did not have to wait long for our food. However, disappointment sunk in, as $40.72 really didn't leave us with anything to brag about. The portion sizes and the quality of the food just weren't there! At a whomping $15.99, the Combo Platter (which consists of 1 piece of fish, 1 chicken tender, 3 pieces of fried shrimp, fries and a side of coleslaw) is an absolute big "NO!" The fish lacked flavor. The chicken tender was fatty, and the fried shrimp was nothing spectacular. The chili dog was overcooked and the bun a little stale. For $9.99, you'd expect it to come with a side, however I shelled out an additional $4.99 for a side of sweet potato waffle fries. The $6.99 cheeseburger was just alright. There is so much room for improvement, and hope in due time these things do, however we won't be back anytime soon. read more

I was so excited that the old Mr. Dee's was becoming a burger shop until I ate there. The burger was ok but was kind of bland. It had pickled onions but couldn't taste them. Also. If you're going to use thin a burger patty at minimum cook them properly. Mine was raw. The onion rings were ok. For what I got it seemed overpriced. It was $14.00 (without a drink) if a new place wants to succeed at these prices every burger has to be perfect and leaving you with the impulse to have to come back. They are a new shop. I hope they get better we need more burger joints. Maybe I'll come back and try a chili dog. read more

We tried this for the first time. High priced - $35 for a burger and hot dog with one drink with fries and a SMALL onion ring order. My burger was like chewing on a shoe - dry, crispy and no flavor at all. The onion rings were very doughy and gross. . We also ordered a hot dog with fries (they're actually good). We asked for lite chili and got a swimming pool. You can sit at a cramped bench inside where other customers put their butts in your face or have yellow jackets swarming over your food outside.
