Donuts were alright. The dough was good, the icing was okay, but the donut and icing didn't go well together.

This place has been on my to do list for a while and I finally had a chance to try it. The doughnuts looked good and fresh. I ordered a strawberry frosted with sprinkles, carmel macchiato, French toast, and chocolate frosted with sprinkles. The French toast was for me and it was delicious. The others were for my family and they enjoyed them as well. Customer service was mid. The shop was clean. read more

this place is amazing! I stopped by the other day and was blown away at the selection. looked very clean / well kept inside and the two ladies there were really nice! outside seating and cool art on the building it's self! I got 1/2 a dozen donuts, my favorite was the strawberry sprinkle one but the s'mores and maple were so good too!! I'd definitely come back if I was gonna be in the area longer!!! wish I found it before I was about to move away! 10/10 read more

I'm new to the area and thought I'd give this place a try in comparison to another highly rated donut spot in the area. I got a glazed donut, iced doughnut, and a cronut (glazed croissant/doughnut). Unfortunately, the cronut was greasy and not great when warmed a bit before eating. The other two yeast donuts were nice and fluffy, but the dough lacked flavor. The iced donut was good because of the flavored icing, but the glazed donut left a lot to be desired. Flavor of the donuts aside, my review would've been a bit higher if the young man behind the counter had at least exhibited more of a customer service, friendly disposition. Since it was my first time in the shop, I inquired about several items that I didn't recognize - like the huge apple fritter! He kind of brushed it aside by quickly telling me what it was and then immediately asking me what else I would like. I got the impression he wanted to be done with the transaction quickly. I should note, there was no one else in the shop but me at the moment so it wasn't like there were other customers to get to. Due to the pressure, I made my selections much quicker than I ordinarily would have, which means I didn't realize that they offered specialty coffee until leaving the shop and looking later at the menu online. read more

I love a good donut. Stopped here for the first time today after passing it many times for a 1/2 dozen donuts. I purchased two glazed, two vanilla with sprinkles and two caramel. Admittedly, it was late in the day but the donuts were not great. Overall, they seemed a bit stale, not enough sugar on the glazed, in addition to it being dry. The vanilla with sprinkles was ok, but not good enough to try again. read more

Just not the same as it used to be. Customer service is more unfriendly and disconnected, no longer warm and inviting. The person who helped me couldn't even tell me what a few of the donuts were. We miss the regular blueberry cake donuts, and we miss the donut holes. They are so rare to come by paired with the services we hit up Dunkin's more and more. read more

These donuts are the softest, freshest donuts in town! I've been going there for years and now I have grandchildren to take with me. I love all the vegan options, especially. The only bad thing is the bathroom being closed off to customers. It's disappointing because alot of people walk from further away just to get some treats, and with kids, it's a hassle. Delicious donut place! Would highly recommend visiting if you are in Fredericksburg. My family went around 1pm and they still had several left. I can't eat gluten and they did not have gluten free on their board inside but I asked and they had gluten free donuts in the back. You can pick whatever topping you want to have on the gluten free donut. I had dipped in chocolate. My family had a salted caramel donut and a horchata donut (regular donuts). They loved them. Let's be real, I wanted to visit this place initially because of the Instagramable sprinkle painted chairs outside. And when I stepped inside and saw all the donuts, I had trouble picking just 6. They also have 12 inch and 18 inch sized donuts. Holy moly! Parking: Easy parking with several parlo no stalls to grab some donuts. Location: Near downtown and has only outdoor seating currently. Donuts: All were great, but my favorites were the salted caramel, strawberry and cinnamon French toast. SO thick and delicious. read more

Not sure what the girls problem was that put my donuts in a bag instead of a box and was cclearly disturbed when I asked for a small box instead. But the mini donuts were DRY and the specialty donuts were close to dry as well. The latte I ordered was good! But I won't be back....... read more

Really fun and cool donut shop. NOTE: it's s little confusing, their donuts and glazes are vegan BUT SOME of the donuts have non vegan ingredients: bacon, cereal that isn't vegan, etc. The counter person was friendly and helpful and walked me through it. A great selection even at 2 pm. read more

For breakfast my hubby Tony and I stopped at Freddy's Donuts which I found via Google Maps. The place is a converted old gas station and its uniquely decorated. Loved the artwork on the outside wall, great mural The store was packed Everyone including the employees were wearing mask and trying very hard to honor the 6 ft distancing rule. When it was my turn, I was do confused. My mouth was watering more & more with each minute that passed while I waited in line. I got Tony the Monster Apple Fritter (I kid you not....as big as my hand))) and a specialty Derp Fudge Chocolate & for myself a Croissant Flat Donut which was so flaky, sugary and did I mention DELICIOUS!!!! Was dropping my wife off for a hair appointment then a walk through the local Fredericksburg Farmers Market when I saw Freddy's Doughnuts. Usually local small businesses have superior quality to chains like Duncan and Freddy's was a prime example. The doughnuts were fresh, delicious, and a fair price. Maple bacon donuts were . Extremely pricey for cold donuts, but after a few minutes in the oven at home they were top tier.

The BEST Boston cream I have ever had. I don't even think I'm doing it justice by calling it a spiritual experience. I'm a yeast donut girl all the way, and Freddy's had everything I could possibly want in a yeast donut. My fruity pebbles donut had a layer of icing that was just the right amount of sweetness, not saccharine. I loved the airy texture of the donut. My husband's caramel donut was similarly not too sweet. We are both impressed with the quality and freshness of Freddy's baked goods. This local donut shop is very cute, housed in a teal-colored building with a mural on the side and bench seating out front. Warm and friendly service adds to the charm. Love this place for funky donuts! I'd recommend going early in the morning because I went at 10 on a Friday and they were sold out of a lot of their usuals. (I even had to request glazed donuts which is a pretty common donut to have in stock in my opinion!). Food: Their frappe's are just okay. Highly recommend their cake donuts! Freddy Donuts is a doughnut shop near several historic sites in Fredericksburg. The shop itself is cute with murals on the outside and outdoor seating under lights on picnic tables. The inside sells small batch doughnuts for a good price. Doughnuts are between $1.50-$2 per doughnut and they come out large. Since I like more basic doughnuts, I ordered the chocolate glazed doughnut and it was tasty. They also sell beverages including coffee drinks. read more

Trying a new place is scary, especially desserts. This place though, it did not disappoint. The friendly employees were there with me , every step of the way. They helped me choose the donuts , and shared their favorites too. I love that about employees. I love how they put in their personal touches I have tried some classics , like the chocolate and peanut donut, the filled donuts, caramel and bacon donut and the strawberry donut. I love all of them, especially the caramel and bacon. The bacon was crispy, and it helps with the sweetness of the donut itself. I would definitely come here for the sweets and awesome customer service. They have very few seating outside , if you would like to devour your donuts before getting home. read more

This has become our family's favorite place to get birthday dessert or a little treat to celebrate any special occasion. Vegan donuts are the majority here; so whereas with everywhere else we would say, "would you please point out the vegan options?" then be directed to two or three things, at Freddy Donuts, we ask, "which ones aren't vegan?" and they'll usually point to some with bacon and the ones with marshmallows the ones with gummy worms, and that's about it. Having that many things left in the case meet the diet is awesome. It's a dream come true!! There's a lot of really creative toppings and they're always changing it up but my favorite has gotta be the basic glaze donut holes. Those little bite sized balls are a yum yum classic. read more

Not impressed with the flavor overall. They were dry and just reminded of a standard grocery store donut, just better looking. This location used to be called Sugar Shack and after moving away, I decided to give the new Freddy's Donuts a try since I hadn't been in a few years. We came after lunch so the donut selection was limited however after inquiring with the young girl at the counter, they had fresh Maple Bacon donuts they just had finished in the back. Went here for iced coffee one morning while visiting Fredericksburg (iced coffee was decent, by the way) and the hilarious and energetic gal behind the counter gave me a free donut to sample. We bought 2 drinks and 4 donuts. The hot chocolate was not good. It was pretty much warm brown water with no taste. The honey vanilla latte is a warm drink but was cold when we got it and did not taste right. The chocolate sprinkled donut did not taste fresh. The apple pie donut had a weird cream filling that had no taste. Overall, an unexpectedly disappointing visit to a place we liked a lot in the past. read more

This was our first time at Freddy's and what a treat! The donuts are fresh and the staff is kind. Our three toddlers were in Heaven today with their breakfast treats. Loved that we could sit outside even though it was misting today. The Apple fritters are huge and amazing! Highly recommend getting one to share. Some of the best donuts I've ever had in my life! Visually, they are stunning. Be careful tho, you're brain will tell you to get 12, but you're stomach will only be able to handle 1 and a 1/2.
