This angered me because it's a hazard to the animals and the people who come here and there is NO DNR, ranger or police information anywhere to report this behavior. I even confronted the idiots and told them how stupid they were. Total low life losers. Keep your kids clear away from the water because they come straight to any person they see.

The beach itself was a decent quality, if not world-beating affair. It was just more crowded and less easy to enjoy than I'd hoped.

Probably one of the most packed beaches I've been to in the golden isles. Everyone was nice and friendly, and my dog had tons of dog friends to play with.

After grabbing our clubs and color coded balls (pink, purple & teal of course!) We chose the beginner course. The best part on this 90+ degree day you ask? The beginner course was pretty shaded with covers making the heat way more bearable. Each spot had an adorable feature either beside or to golf through some were quite the challenge! We had lots of laughs and tons of fun trying to get a hole in one which by the way only one of us was able to make (all I'll say was that it wasn't me or Bob who made it!) 10 out of 10 it's a must stop on any Jekyll Island trip!

I took a sunset walk, a gamble, and it was well worth it. The trail is scattered with native species of plants being reintroduced to the area, so if you're looking to scratch the horticulture itch you'll do that here. If you want to find a place where the only sounds you'll hear are angry squirrels fighting over nuts...you'll certainly find that here. I wonder if there's some kind of secret squirrel fight club out there...sounded like it for a bit. I digress... It's a beautiful trail, soft soil and crunchy leaves. Surrounded by the sounds of nature and silence. Which way will you turn?

This is for the Nature Center itself, not an excursion or walk. The Nature Center has educational…read moreexhibits with oodles of didactics all over the walls, and many live animals! When I say "oodles of didactics all over the walls" it's actually overwhelming! There were really informative learning panels on every square inch of vertical space in this building, but it is so much at once, and hard to get close to because the tanks, cages, and other exhibits sit along the walls, and keep you a distance from the often-tiny text. They definitely need a larger space. Dawn was our guide for the visit, and she was very sweet and informative. She got a baby gator out for us to touch, and pointed out some interesting facts about the MANY tortoises they house. She also introduced us to the loggerhead sea turtles, and took us to the side building with another tank there. These turtles are stragglers from the nests during hatching season. The sea turtle wildlife crew will check all nests two weeks after the main hatch, and they get stragglers to Tidelands, where they will live and grow, temporarily, until they are large enough to be released at adult size, back into the sea. Stragglers don't have good chance of survival at all in the wild, but Tidelands completely bolsters their odds, and may even give them a better chance than the ones who fall victim to predators or environmental hazards. Run by 4-H, Tidelands is a great center with a great cause, and it was super fun learning with them!

It flows further from here to Brunswick Georgia and into the Atlantic Ocean. Here at the park are a bunch of boat docks, some open space and a bandshell/pavilion that looks ready for a small music festival. It's a nice spot with the waterfront for walking around. Near the sandbar the water gets deep fast so if you have littles or inexperienced swimmers walk further down to set up. We went during low tide and we were able to pretty much walk all the way out to the middle of the ocean with the water at our knees in most parts. The wind was a little gusty the day we went so bring something to hold down the beach towels so they don't fly away while you're frolicking in the water! Lol! It was less crowded than the area we went the day before too! Such a fun place to enjoy the ocean and soak in the sunshine!!

It was a short walk to the water and there were tons of "pools" for our toddler to splash in and search for seashells (which we found plenty of)! Be wary, the water/tide was a bit strong and there were some sudden drop offs, I don't recommend for swimming but a quick splash a couple feet in was perfect for us. It was relatively quiet and there were plenty of birds to watch! There is a hose in the corner of the parking lot near to rinse off with.
