Fredrico's parking lot was packed when we pulled up at lunchtime a few days ago, belying its middling three-star rating. However, this anomaly was explained moments later; 3/4 of the customers were standing in line, waiting to place their orders. Let's give the cashier the benefit of the doubt and assume she was new. We placed our order and were shuffled off to the side to make way for the next guys. Nobody took our name, nobody gave us a number. We found our way to a nearby booth. I stared at a tray sitting by itself on the counter for a few minutes and observed people who seemed to be veterans accepting their salads before sauntering off, then urged my friend to go ask if the abandoned tray belonged to us. It did! I ordered the lunch special, which included a salad. My friend ordered baked pasta, which did not include a salad but gave him the option of adding one on for $2.80. He chose not to, and good thing, because for $2.80 he could have just driven over to Smith's and gotten an entire bag of iceberg lettuce, which was all my salad consisted of. I also got an undercooked piece of garlic bread. The butter hadn't even fully melted. Yum. After several minutes, my pizza materialized. It was pretty little, but very fresh and tasted good. After I finished my pizza, my friend's pasta arrived. It actually looked amazing, and if I ever go back, I'm totally getting that instead. So while our dining experience at Fredrico's was definitely flawed, the food wasn't terrible, and it was pretty cheap. I might go back. read more

The sauce is really good, does have a bit of a wait when busy. The pizza crust could be more sturdy. I personally did not like the ham on the pizza, I was expecting ham slices or chucks, not minced canned Ham on pizza. They did get our order wrong and added tomatoes when we for sure didn't ask for them, however since it took so long to get it, we ate it anyways. Where to begin.... a. horrible price point b. horrible food c. horrible staff Line was long and we were told by two gentlemen in front of us that we had made a very wise decision~ya, right. We explained to the cashier that it was our first time there, leaving a pause for her direction, instead we received a blank look in her eye (which I'm finding common here in the food industry in Utah). As we were ordering, we noticed a toaster oven that was rotating pieces of prepackaged frozen "garlic bread". The salad (prepackaged from Smith's) was put together, in front of us by a young lady, who grabbed handfuls of the salad with her hand and put them in a bowl. In her defense, she was wearing a plastic glove...classy. We all ordered it with no pink stuff on top, which ended up being "ham". We waited 45 minutes for 3 calzones that were hardly palatable. The insides were runny and my vegetarian did not include fresh veggies. They were canned. Additionally my 10 year old specifically asked for no mushrooms, no onions, and no green peppers. His calzone came with all three. We actually witnessed the "cook" rolling his eyes and scoffing when the cashier initially gave him our request. We explained to the waiter the situation, who then checked with management, who then came back and stated "I'm sorry, but the manager said you would have to buy another one" My son ate 2 small bites out of his calzone and so I felt this unacceptable. I took the plate and my fed up opinion to the cashier. She called the manager out, who ended up being the "cook"! He began to tell me that we would have to purchase another one, until the cashier reminded him that she had explained that we did not want those ingredients from the beginning. He agreed to make another one, which took another 45 friggin' minutes!!!! He then gave us another coupon for a free calzone. Seriously? This place is filthy, the manager/cook (whatever he is) is rude, and by the way the kitchen was disgusting! I grew up loving Fredrico's Pizza. Yesterday I had the opportunity to have it again and the taste hasn't changed. The crush is thin , but not so think that it feels like you're eating crackers. The sauce isn't over-powering, it's just right to compliment the toppings. They put enough cheese on it to keep the toppings in place. I have always recommended Fredrico's pizza to anyone visiting Logan and I whole heartedly still do. Great food. Oh, and if you like pizza the next day, Fredrico's passes this test too. Federico's is quite the adventure. I went to USU several years back and apparently missed this place. I was here for 4 years, how did I miss it?!? I'd suggest they step up their advertising game. Anyway, the husband and I decided to try something different to our normal Logan pizza joint visit. We were there on a Saturday night around 6:00 and the place wasn't busy at all. I was a little nervous. We ordered 2 salads, because I heard the ranch is amazing, and a medium pepperoni and mushroom pizza. They have you order as you come in so be prepared. If you have time check out the menu online because hopefully it gets busier at some point in the night. The salad was, well iceberg lettuce. They covered it in ranch, so I really got to enjoy their ranch. In all honesty, it's really good. It has some tang to it that is enjoyable. The garlic bread was different. It's sliced bread slathered in butter and then sent through a conveyor belt to toast. It didn't do much toast, as it melted the butter a little. Very garlicky, but floppy. Not so toasty. The pizza. Holy mushrooms. They use fresh mushrooms and cover that pizza. If you love that, then this is the place. They use a conveyor belt to cook there pizza, and that's where they lost me. It's a good pizza, but pizza ovens is where it's at. The crust was mediocre. We bought extra ranch to dip it in after realizing it was pretty flavorless. While sitting there I said to my husband that this is a pizza joint that's more for the "life experience" people. I know that my gran would love the soft garlic bread and pile of mushrooms. This business has a long ways to go. They're famous because of their prime location, however their business needs an overhaul. Terrible food, terrible service, terrible layout. The foot is awful. Salads are SMOTHERED in dressing, as in, totally unappetizing with how much dressing they put on it. It was like salad-soup with the dressing to salad ratio. The pizzas are like cheesy crackers. No real bread, little to no pizza sauce, they can't even cut the pizza evenly. It was like they centered the cuts 2/3 to the side of the pizza. The amount of food you get is just pathetic. The service is impersonal. You pretty much have to get up and get your own pizza, almost like fast food. The booths are so small, and so close together, you end up hearing the conversations of the people behind you better than the person you sit across from. There are no privacy walls, so it doesn't make good for business meals or intimate / romantic date environments. What this place needs, is the food from Firehouse Pizzeria, combined with their location, added in with the service given from Cafe Sabor on a good day. read more

I grew up in cache valley and therefore am kind of partial to Fredrico's Pizza. The lunch special is a very good meal for most occasions. When I was in high school, it was the hang out place of most all of my close friends. It is a little too expensive for college students in my opinion. The new renovations to the restaurant are improvements. I still have not gone to a live music night in the back, but it is nice to have that as a venue. read more

I'm sad to say our 30 year tradition of coming here is OVER! We visit every summer when we come back from AZ and the past couple of years have been poor. Tonight was downright awful! We ordered a large pizza, 3 ham and cheese salads and garlic toast. The salads were fine, the toast was soggy and we never got our pizza. Somehow not one of the 6 employees realized they never started our pizza even though we were one of three groups in the whole restaurant! When I told them We could wait another 20 minutes for our pizza, they tried giving our refund in the form of a gift certificate! NO THANK YOU! Their pizza is good, but the ham and cheese salad is killer!! It looks like your basic iceberg salad, but there is magic in that bowl, The serving size is very filling and it comes with the amazing garlic bread. Their dressings may be the secret, I don't know, but everyone we have sent there has been dubious about our recommendation until they try it. I didn't know anything about Fredrico's when we decided one night to go in and give it a try, so I had no preconceived notions. Unfortunately, we weren't terribly impressed. The garlic bread is very good, but the pizzas weren't, really. I ordered a vegetable calzone, and my veggies were cold and raw inside, with the cheese not even warm enough to be melted, though it looked done from the outside. The sauce they served with it was nothing more than plain tomato sauce with a fleck of herb here and there and maybe some salt--it was bland and unexciting. Pizza was equally dissapointing, we ordered a sausage combo, and the sausage was raw, veggies piled on top raw, no flavor, and...where's the cheese?? I had heard good things about Fredrico's Pizza and after eating there on Saturday night, I'm not quite sure why. The pizza was mediocre at best, the salad was nothing more than iceberg lettuce marinated in dressing, and the garlic bread was merely plain slices of white bread with garlic butter on them run through a toaster oven. The service was pretty much nonexistent, you order your food on the way in the door and then have to go and pick it up yourself, there were many tables with dirty dishes still on them that had not been cleared from the previous customers, and it was pretty pricey for both the quality and quantity of food you get.
