STOP - Do not do business here. I ordered kitchen appliances including high end double oven with ventilation hood, dishwasher, refrigerator, and microwave oven. Items were delivered to my new construction property late this summer. My installer mounted the hood over the range when damage (several dents) were noticed. Called my representative at Fred's and he stated he would get another hood. He advised me that he had another one and in the best interest of time I would make the 2 hour drive to exchange it at the store. When we walked into their shipping & receiving area I couldn't believe what I saw. The replacement hood looked like it had been drug behind the shipping truck, box was destroyed and needless to say it was damaged. I left with a promise to get another hood ordered/delivered ASAP. My plumber now had installed the dishwasher which it too had a dent in the stainless steel panel. Called my representative again and he had sent another panel which I was supposed to install however when it arrived I could tell before opening the box it too was damaged. Time to order another one. I finally received the third hood delivered to my residence, I let the delivery team know that I had two previous ones that were damaged and before they took it off the truck to inspect you, well you guessed it - number three was damaged as well. The third dishwasher panel finally arrived and I installed it even though it has a small barely noticeable dimple in it just below the handle. (I just gave up on trying again) At the time of this posting I still haven't received a hood that is undamaged several months later. Customer service and responding in a timely manner along with delivering in good faith with Fred's Appliances is one great big FAILURE. How they are in business baffles me. On a side note I had three other appliances delivered by Home Depot promptly and no damage to any of the pieces. Fred's Appliances took my money and haven't delivered the goods move on from this business and buy elsewhere. read more

Horrific service. Have had a broken refrigerator for almost a year and have had multiple appointments. Techs have no-showed and we have been rescheduled multiple times due to all kinds of excuses (ordered wrong part, tech sick, etc). When they have showed up 4-5 times to come to diagnose and fix the problem it still doesn't work. the tech leaves before confirming the problem is resolved. Recently called to ask if we could get our most recent reschedule moved up since we have been working to get this problem resolved for almost a full year and was told no and they insinuated my wife was lying about the reschedule and our new appointment time was what they had originally scheduled weeks ago. I'm beginning to wonder if this is a scam where they are intentionally not fixing the issue to collect payment from the manufacturer for multiple warrantee calls or something. Bought a microwave from these people. Thought I was doing a good thing supporting a local company. Was missing the convection rack, they said they would get me one, never did. 2 years later, the microwave is dead. I waited a month to get someone to look at it. Now they need to order a part, not sure when that will be in (ok l, there is a parts shortage, sure)... but then they say that once the part comes in, I will have to wait a month to get it installs and "see if it fixed the problems". Screw you Fred's! I wouldn't buy a toaster from you, I wouldn't tell anybody, even if I really hated them, to buy from you! read more

Don't buy anything at Fred's unless you can carry it out of the store. Sales was wonderful, customer service and specifically warehouse supervisor Craig was horrendous. When we bought on the 4th of July weekend, our first question was "do you deliver to Schweitzer Mountain?" The answer was, "of course, for a fee." Now six months and three aborted delivery dates later, we still don't have our appliances. The warehouse refuses to find a solution besides "come pick it up yourself." We are beyond frustrate! We will never buy anything from them again and will tell everyone we know. read more

Well it's November and we still haven't got our transaction with Fred's completed. We had to go to the store AGAIN because no one would call us back. They offered a $200 discount to keep the dented fridge and they would replace the doors. They said it would take two weeks. It's been three weeks and they did call us, we had to call them to find out they don't know the status of the replacement doors. They also promised several discount to be credited to our credit card. They have not applied any credits and we had to call their accounting office to find out the status of the credits. She said she would possibly have them done in 5 to 7 working days. REALLY! Saved by the delivery driver. Our first delivery experience was absolutely horrible two years ago. We bought a new house and had to get another washer & dryer. The softer side of me thought they deserved a second chance. We were on the schedule for a Saturday delivery of our washer, dryer, and fridge. The morning of the delivery they called with a 6 PM to 8 PM window, on a Saturday mind you. The closer to 8 it got the more anxious I became. We had gone a week without a fridge and I was looking forward to having a semi-functional house. 8:15 PM they called to say they were running behind, but they were still going to make the delivery. By the time they showed up I was on the verge of rage and asked my wife if we should tell them to forget about the whole thing. I had had it with Fred's delivery crew. Much to my surprise, the delivery guys were awesome. They were respectful and very informative about the functionality of the appliances (including ones they didn't deliver). They left out home at 10:30 PM and still had to drive North 30 minutes to Athol for their last delivery. Their crew is being over worked and their scheduler should be ashamed. read more

Do not shop here. The sales staff are nice enough but they delivered us a broken floor model when we purchased a new dishwasher. If you do get anything from these guys and pay for the extra warranty you have to deal with the "customer care" department. This is where the problems really start. You call in and they are able to get someone out to diagnose in 2-3 weeks. That guy says parts will arrive in 3-5 days. 3 weeks later when you've heard nothing from them they tell you "oh ya your parts have been sitting in the warehouse but we can't get anyone out to install for another month and a half." Once the day finally does roll around they call you to tell you that someone called in sick so they can, maybe fit you in in another month or so. If you call in to talk to someone all they can say is "it's not our fault, but you're still under manufacturers warranty, they might be able to help you." tldr; they're good at selling you stuff but horrible at customer service. read more

Good service until they complete the sale, after that you get really nothing in return. Eventually, after 4 months and numerous calls to Fred's, we got everything. Do not let them install anything unless you want to end up with damage to your home. Do not call and ask for a status update, unless you want to deal with rudeness on the other end of the line. Escalating to management won't help either. I got a good price on a complete kitchen and washer and dryer but would have rather paid more for good service. Today I tried to call Fred's to schedule a repair of my General Electric refrigerator. Apparently the frost less part of it has frozen up again as it did in October of 2018 when your Damien Fegan fixed it. I called several outlets today (12-6-2019) trying to get a service appointment. I have never had such an experience with a company that must be profit oriented. I never got connected to anyone, not the sales department, or the repair department. All I heard on the phone was some music, not even a voice asking me to wait. I will call some other repair firm in that I do not think you are really in business. Unbelievable!!!!! In the last two years I've shopped twice for my appliances for two different new build/new construction homes. I must say both times I've received the worst customer service and help at the store. I worked with both Jon and Russ. I never could get a straight answer, my emails were never answered promptly or if they were responded to, my questions weren't answered. It took 36 emails to finally get a correct quote on two appliance packages. Four times now I've received the incorrect rebate forms for the package I ended up purchasing. I purchased appliances 36 days ago and still have not received any information as to when they will be delivered. I will never shop here again. Brand new gas stove 30 days ago got it home had to have gas installed for it. All that worked was stove top. Took almost 2 weeks to get someone out to see what it was said it was display board. 2 weeks to get guy back out here then its not it. He says its now control board bad. Guy says to ask sales if can return and get another stove after I ask if its possible. Wife calls sales they say to call other department talk to girls they say have to talk to sales. N.brand new 2300 dollar gas stove no Christmas dinner had prime rib to cook and new years and other dinners. Hopefully get fixed some month this new year. Not the place to go. My experience is this: I called them inquiring about purchasing a washer and dryer set to replace the set I was currently renting from aarons after recently moving to town. The exact same combo was selling at the local home depot for under 900 bucks installed. They informed me that the best they could offer was a less capable combo for over twelve hundred bucks. Seemed annoyed when I inquired why it was so much more. Bear in mind, this is the same outfit that constantly advertises on local tv about how their "ding and dent" business model surpasses the "big box" stores. Whatever. I want to warn everyone about the sales tactics of Freds. I dealt with Brandon V. I ordered a NEW refrigerator, told it was in stock in Seattle and they would ship it to the Spokane store and then out for delivery. We agreed upon a date and all was good until they delivered it. The first clue was it was not in a box. When they brought it in to the house it was CLEARLY a used floor model. It was dented, scratched, and dingy inside. The delivery guys were shocked that this was supposedly new. I immediately called Brandon and he said "Hmmm the sales guy said it was in mint condition" I said "what do you mean? is this a floor model?" he said "Yes". I about lost it. At no time was I told I was spending $2K on a floor model or even given the option. He tried to pass it off as new!! and then tried to blame the delivery drivers also for damaging it. I wanted to speak to their manager Rick H so he put me through to his voicemail because supposedly he was not in. I left a scathing voicemail. Ten minutes later the sales guy (Brandon) calls me back and says his manager listened to my voicemail. Really?? Very disappointing the store manager to this day could not be bothered to call me. After speaking with family and friends some of them had the same experience. We will never buy from them again and will do all I can to spread the word on their shady sales tactics and lack of Integrity. read more

We visited this store because we purchased a newly built home and we had to pick out our appliances from Freds. We had a horrible experience nearly ever time we stepped into the store. The salesmen make you feel like you mean nothing to them and they couldn't care less if you pick something out or not. They are extremely snobby and make you feel like a $3000.00 purchase is a joke to them. Unfortunately this was only the beginning of our issues. We had a delivery scheduled 4 months ahead of time for our refrigerator and washer and dryer on the day after we were to take possession of the house. They showed up after dark on the day of delivery and two major problems were immediately evident. First, the washer and dryer were damaged so badly that they were inoperable and we never even had them unload them from the truck. We later learned they no longer had any undamaged sets of the kind we chose. Second, the refrigerator wasn't even on the truck and they apparently forgot to deliver it. Three days later, after we had to deal with the horrible salesmen in the store again to pick out a new kind of washer and dryer they attempted a second delivery. This time the fridge had a scratch down the door which we accepted with the condition that they would replace the door ( 2.5 months later they still haven't) and between the washer and dryer the dryer was ok but the washer was damaged beyond repair AGAIN! A couple days later they attempted a third delivery for the washer using a third party delivery company. No joke, it was damaged as well with a big dent on one side of it. We accepted this appliance with the same condition as the fridge and here we are 2 and a half months later with out it being fixed. If you think the issues stop here keep dreaming. The dishwasher that came with the house was also from you guessed it, FREDS. It apparently was leaking and we had the people that built the house come take a look. Turns out the dishwasher was damaged and had a major leak on the bottom of it. FREDS sent us out a repair person the next day, however he showed up told us not to use it and that he had to order parts. We didn't see him again for a month and a half. Then on the day he came out to fix it, he dropped off the parts, told us "something had come up" and left. We didn't see him again for a week and a half when he finally did fix it. By this time I was so frustrated with them that I called and asked to speak to a manager but was never allowed to. I would also like to point out that when they do repairs or deliveries they are in the habit of scheduling a day that they will come out and that is all the information you get until the morning of the scheduled day when they call between the hours of 8 to 10 to tell you when they will be there. It is absolutely asinine and requires somebody to take the entire day off because you never know when they are coming. I would put negative stars for this company if I could and have told everyone I know about our experience. I will never do business with this company again. Keep in mind that the issue with the dishwasher nearly caused our entire kitchen to need to be torn out of a brand new house! read more

We purchased our washer and dryer from Fred's Appliance and after a couple of years (within warranty) the washer stopped working. We waited almost a week for someone to come and check it out, then he had to order a part. He came back a week later but the part was wrong. He ordered another part, which also came back wrong, and then another. Finally they conceded that the washer would not work and after a more than a month of no washer and lots of frustration, they brought a new washer. That was 2017 and today that one refused to work. Now I have to wait until next Monday for someone to come take a look, which will cost $80 and then he will have to order a part. So the cycle starts again. The girl on the phone suggested that I could go elsewhere. Well don't worry about that because I WILL NEVER BUY FROM FRED'S AGAIN. read more

Our microwave went out with 3 kids stuck at home with the covid restrictions (bad timing). After visiting 1 Home Depot and 3 Lowe's stores to find out every one of them did not have the microwave I needed, I stopped into Fred's and found out they had a floor model and they sold it to me (Lowe's and Home Depot won't sell floor displays). I was in and out in 10 minutes including the purchase. The sales folks were easy to work with, and I'm very pleased. I also was very impressed by their higher end kitchen appliances. My sales rep was helpful and Pricing was competitive but I didn't get my "Whole Kitchen" rebate form the manufacturer because my fridge got split by Fred's onto a separate invoice from the rest of the kitchen. This was $350 difference to my end price because they delivered on a separate day (per contractor's need). Also turns out Fred's isn't so helpful when you end up needing warranty work done on your brand new appliances, they don't work with the manufacturer at all so the company that's supposed to take care of you doesn't have a vested interest in you since you didn't buy from them in the first place. read more

Our refrigerator was slow to cool and we lost a whole fridge of food. Fred's came out 2 days later and said nothing was wrong as the fridge was cool. It happened again after another trip to the grocery store. They had offered to come free if it happened again so I called and they came same day. This time they figured out the what was wrong and ordered the part. Three days later the part is in and they are coming.... next Friday to put it in-- 2 weeks without a fridge!! Horrible service and they do not seem to understand why a family of four with two children under 4 need a working fridge asap. I phoned the Valley Store looking for a particular Bosch 800 series dishwasher. First the sales guy tried to convince me to buy a similar lower priced model they had. Somebody wants to spend top end money and he tried to talk me down in value. Finally after that he admitted that they did not stock that one, They stocked their own version of it at $100 more with two worthless extra features. He did offer to come down from $950 to $900 I said no deal. The stupid idiot never even bothered to offer to order the model I wanted even though I told him I was in no hurry and did not need one today. Best to shop elsewhere. read more

Jake at the Indiana location helped me pick out a SubZero, getting it into my 70's house was another matter all together, the delivery crew went above and beyond to sort out the myriad of problems with doors, angles and generally available space. They had originally sent out 2 guys to do the delivery, which would have been fine in a modern place, but after a very strong attempt, they decided to come back with 6 guys and it went much more smoothly. I would definitely work with these guys again. read more

This was the worst customer service experience that I have had in many years. I settled on a refrigerator that was not my first choice because it was in stock (in their warehouse outside of Seattle - a 5-hour drive away) and was told I would have to wait for 2 weeks for delivery. Okay. I agreed to that. Then I was told that I would have to wait over 2 additional weeks, bringing my wait time to 5 weeks to deliver a refrigerator that was a 5-hour drive away. I called the store mananger, Rick. He told me that he would phone me back, but he never did. I ended up canceling my order because I do not do business with people who take your money, do not do what they say they are going to do, then don't return phone calls. No one apologized. No one was remorseful or said they were sorry for the inconvenience. All I got was attitude. I was made to feel that I was lucky they decided to sell me a refrigerator and that I should take what I could get whenever they felt like giving it to me! Very poorly ran store. read more

Have to agree with most low rated reviews here. They are great on making the sale, but if there are any issues you are in trouble. They will not keep in touch with you, will not give you any idea when the problem will be resolved and getting in touch with someone is almost impossible. I had no problem buying the appliances, but once my fridge was delivered damaged seems like they couldn't care less. It's been 2 months and still no idea when the parts will be in or when the issue will be resolved. I have a hard time getting anyone by phone (when calling the service department sat on hold to only be told nobody answered and hung up on multiple times), was told on their chat feature only my salesman could help me and emails don't always get answered and when they do really don't tell me anything useful. If I could just get someone to give me a realistic timeline for when the problem will be resolved it would be nice. Once the sale is made if there is a problem good luck because from what I can see they really don't care. read more

My washing machine broke and it took about a week to get the guy to come look at it. Then when he diagnosed the problem as just being the latch he said it would take 5 business days to replace it. I was in the middle of trying to sell them and I called repeatedly and even went in to the store in Missoula, yet I never got an an answer on when it would be fixed. It has been almost 2 months and I had to sell the washer broken. Just received a call from them, no voicemail, even though I told them to call the new owner. Who knows if it's even fixed. Worst customer service and an absolutely terrible service department. Fortunately they don't exist around me anymore, but I will tell anyone to never use this company. We purchased a gas range from this store during a sale - it was a ding and dent sale. The gas range was $1600 and had a dent on the lower side. We are remodeling our kitchen and told the salesman we needed a full natural gas range. He sold us this one. THey wrapped it up and we hauled it home. Fast forward three weeks and we had paid $1100 to have natural gas brought to our home. We then paid another $1000 for the plumber to bring it in to the house. The afternoon before Thanksgiving we hauled it in to the house and hooked it up. It wouldn't work. After four hours of troubleshooting it, finding installation guides from the manufacture online, since one didn't come with it, we finally discovered the issue. The stove had been converted to burn propane. We couldn't use it and to re-fit it back to Natural Gas we would need a professional installer. This meant, no Thanksgiving dinner for our family. Friday morning we head to the store we purchased it from. The response was solid. We had a repairman at our house before we returned. Unfortunately, the repairman was not able to fix it without more parts and some kind of schematic to know which parts go where. Also, the leveling legs were not working which he informed us were not fixable so, this meant we would not be able to cook anything in the oven completely level. We loaded the stove up and took it back to the store. The store manager was so pissed when he saw us come back in he met us halfway across the floor - Rick was obviously annoyed. In the end, because he felt my husband had "copped" an attitude, he was not going to help us get anything. In fact he informed us that really, he didn't even have to deal with us at all if he didn't want to since we had purchased the oven on sale. To get us a new one could be as long as 4 weeks which meant of course that not only had we missed our Thanksgiving holiday, we would miss our Christmas holiday as well. Wow - that's the holiday spirit alrighty.......in the end, we finally got a refund (which he credited to our debit card. Not sure how that will work since we purchased it with cash) because he didn't have any cash to give back to us so he wanted to cut us a check which we would received in 1-2 weeks. Great - so we would have to wait until all of the deals going on now are over before we can find a new stove.... Honestly - at this point my advice to all is stay away from this particular location - the manager is hot headed (he yelled at us in the store in front of his customers!!) and wouldn't know real customer service if it fell on his head. You can't bully your customers and expect them to say good things about you. I only wish that this store had a facebook account......... read more

I purchased five appliances from Fred's over the past four years with a good end result. One of those items was a special order washer that arrived damaged. It was returned without any problems, although I did have to wait several weeks for it. I recently purchased a $3100 range. While I was waiting for the installers to arrive with my new range, I received a call saying that Fred's Appliance had ordered a new side panel. I was told that the installers noted that it was damaged when they picked it up from the warehouse. Something heavy had smashed it in on one side which pushed the control panel up so that side is higher than the other side. When I requested a new range, I was told that they have a strict policy that says they do not allow returns and that they would "try to repair" it. The new side panel won't be installed for another 8 days and then they will evaluate the problem with the control panel to "determine if it needs replacement". I am so disappointed with Fred's Appliance. I paid for a new range and what I am going to end up with is a refurbished one. read more

Fred's Appliance warranty leaves much to be desired for. Apparently they do not keep parts that are commonly replaced in stock. So if the refrigerator goes out or ices up, just go see if the neighbor would be so kind as to let you share theirs. Our refer iced up. Thinking it was just a dirty tube we called to have the thing cleaned out. UGH. This not being the issue we were told that the part that went out is a common problem but the part has to be ordered and more than likely it would have to come from Seattle. It was Monday when we called. Thursday they show up. Order part. We are now on Monday and the part is still not in. Last time I checked it is only a six hour drive to the coast from Spokane. I could have driven over Friday, picked up the part, driven back, and called to have the guy come back to fix it. As it stands now, when the part does come in we will have to wait for another appointment space. In the mean time food is bad, using a camping ice chest, and feeding seven people. Let the good times roll, NOT. I should have learned my lesson when we had a common issue part go out on our washer. A mother board later and it turns out to be the doo hickey for the lid lock which may I state again it was a common part to go out. Three weeks later and 120.00 in laundromat quarters, we had a washer working. read more

I don't take long to make up my mind about a new appliance and I had one in mind when I walked in the store. The sales rep didn't waste my time and didn't try to talk me into a different appliance. Instead, he showed me the exact model I wanted, explained the details, checked inventory, closed the sale, and scheduled the delivery -- all within 30 minutes. Amazing! read more

We called them and then came to the house within a week. They gave short notice of when they were going to show up at the house so I wasn't even there. He came in didn't really say much. Left my house with out telling me what was wrong with the oven. TWO WEEKS LATER they call and say that they can come in next week to fix the oven. This means that in total the oven has been broken for 3 weeks. They sent the bill immediately which is fine but they should have fixed the oven in the same speedy manner. I had a good experience buying but it turned into a nightmare when my dishwasher broke down. I bought a service agreement. I called the service dept. in September 2015 for a Kitchenaid dishwasher bought September of 2014. It was just days past the factory warranty. I waited 3 weeks for my appointment. Nobody showed up. So I had to wait another 3 weeks. So the serviceman shows up and is by far the rudest service person I ever have had. So he tells me the drain pump is broken. He also needed to order clips to fix the top rack. The dishwasher wasn't fixed until the first week in December. Now March rolled around and the motor went out. I called and was without a working dishwasher for a month. Now the motor was fixed but they only put 3 of the 4 pieces into the top rack because hey why fix it correctly when you can do good enough for the customer to not notice until you're out the door. The new kicker THEY DIDN'T SCREW THE DISHWASHER BACK INTO THE COUNTER. It falls out and now they have to come back wasting another day of my life. It's not worth it!! Go somewhere else!! read more
