A repairman came out the same day I called and after realizing the fridge was no longer in production (no replacement parts were available) Josh had found a brand new fridge to replace the old one. This used to be a great business. Knowledgeable, helpful, personable, local. We used to always buy our appliances there. Now, you can't talk to anyone who can help. You can't talk to a service person. When you call, all you get is a call center. I had an issue today and called thinking I could speak to a knowledgeable person in the service department before spending a bunch of money . I was told that there was no one working at Fred's like that and was told to go online and see if I could figure it out. Will not be doing business there anymore. read more

I bought a washer and dryer. It was a lemon set. It happens. Fred's tried for 6+ months to fix it. Luis the repairman was great. Final after exhausting all avenues this set was replaced. They made it good. I am very happy with my new set. I have used it 4 times what a difference. I would like to give a shout out to the supervisors. They were all great and very professional. I just wanted you guys to know I went to Fred's because of the prices of their appliances. I also bought a dishwasher. It works like a charm has since day one in the future if I need something who knows I may be back again, so thank you. read more

They have been out to my house five times to fix my freezer. They still have not. I had to leave three message for the service manager to call me. Requested the general manager call as well but they did not. Would not even give them one star. Will have to take six days off for this issue. Do not recommend them. read more

I have been a customer at Freds since the 90's. They have really gone down hill. I bought a washer dryer set January 16. The washer was defective and never worked. The drum and its componets are defective. In the fine print of the paper work they have a no return policy. I will have to wait a month for GE company to order replacement parts. Freds used to have good customer service and a fleet of knowledgable repair people. Not any more. There is no longer any point to buying there. Costco, Lowes, Home Depot all do the same thing for less money. No stars for Freds. read more

The box store that sold me my Bosch dishwasher told me, after my description of the problem, the machine was seriously malfunctioning and I needed to call an authorized Bosch repairman for warranty work. When the Fred's repairman arrived he "fixed" the problem immediately. It was user error and NOT covered under warranty, so I was looking at a good sized repair bill, as I'm over an hour drive from Fred's store. In my defense, the instruction manual that comes with a Bosch dishwasher is almost useless. What the experienced Bosch repairman showed me was nowhere in the manual, and we went over the manual together looking for it. He was polite and kind and sympathetic to my problem. He also didn't charge me for the two hours he had to drive just to show me how to reprogram my uber-sophisticated, non-intuitive, computerized Bosch dishwasher, and for that I am extremely grateful and a new fan of Fred's Appliance. read more

We bought our fridge, dishwasher, washer and dryer from Fred's. I don't have a problem with the sales people. It's the service that really sucks! Last year my dryer, then 2-1/2 years old was making a loud noise, but it still worked. It took a good 3 weeks to get someone out to simply diagnose the problem. The serviceman said the part would be in in two weeks, but I should call because sometimes they don't call when it comes in. I waited another couple of weeks, then called. Oh yes, the part was in (why didn't they bother to call me?), then had to wait another 3 weeks for the repair!! Fast forward to 2025. The dryer's drum stopped turning, and is unusable! I called. Waited 3 weeks for a simple diagnosis. In the meantime, hubby and sons said it sounds like the belt because they've replaced belts in past years. Sure enough, it was the belt. Did the serviceman have one on the truck? Of course not! He knew it was the belt simply by my description. He didn't even turn the dryer on. Part came in two days later, and I called for an appointment to get it fixed. Another 2 weeks before they can get out here! This is no way to do business! They should keep popular parts on the truck at all times to save trips and the customer's inconvenience. Maybe hire more staff? IT'S A REAL INCONVENIENCE NOT TO HAVE A WORKING APPLIANCE FOR TWO MONTHS!!! We are stuck with Fred's because we bought their 5-year warranty, so have to use Fred's for the repair. What an awful experience and have never been treated so rudely by managment and the corporate office. We have spent over $11,000.00 over the last 3 years or so. A compromise is possible but highly unlikely from your company, it would be nice to hear from anyone other than Mr. Holzapple. Beth was outstanding in helping me find the perfect refrigerator freezer and I'm having it delivered in 9 days, not 2 weeks as predicted. She was knowledgeable and very pleasant. I purchased a Bosch Dishwasher and a Kitchenaid Dual fuel gas range from Freds in 2019. I took the extended warranty. In March 2023, I called Fred's to request service on a defective part. I gave the receptionist the error code and she set an appointment for 4/24/23. Then she called and told me that she would have to reschedule the appointment until 5/16/23. I again gave her the error code and explained what the problem was. On 5/16/23, the repairman came to the house, said "the problem is that the error code indicates that we need to replace certain parts but they didn't send the parts with us. We'll have to order the parts and get back to you." So, now, I'm in limbo again with a defective gas range. Parts should have been provided to the repairman before he ever got on the road to repair my range. read more

First, and most importantly, I write this review to spare you, the consumer, from having to deal with a customer service department which excels in ensuring that, when a customer is forced to call the service department, when the call ends, the customer wishes they had bought their appliances elsewhere. Second, when you are told you will receive a call back, do not expect one. How does a company, which provides enthusiastic sales people, and yet zero professional after-sale customer-service, stay in business? That is a great question. The only training class freds must hold for its after-sale customer-service is on how to screen calls when wanting to talk with senior management, and in the art of obfuscation. The other training class held by freds is on how to not give any understanding whatsoever when a customer has been waiting a month for a part, and calls to express their frustration. What freds fails to understand is that there are competitors for the same products - competitors who will offer the same, if not better pricing, and which certainly could not possibly offer worse after-sale service. I urge the reader to disregard the small number of "5-star" reviews, and trust the one-stars. They are the truth. Had we taken the time to read said reviews, we would have purchased our appliances from Ferguson, BestBuy or Costco. When having service on an appliance performed, and parts ordered, do not take it on faith that the parts have been ordered. Do yourself a favor, and call the appliance manufacturer's parts department to see if an order has in fact been placed. And lastly, fellow consumers, you may be thinking that, "Oh, this guy's a small time appliance buyer, who's had one bad experience.". Unfortunately that is not the case. Previous service calls have resulted in freds technicians dropping parts on our hardwood floors, wrong parts ordered, furthering delays to repairs on Bosch built-in oven and microwave. Also, please take note: while freds extended warranty covers parts and service, it is no guarantee that you'll actually receive service. read more

I bought an upright freezer from them about 2 weeks before thanksgiving. They didn't have any on the floor so they showed me a print out of what I would be getting. I paid for delivery since I am older and have some physical disabilities. My husband went down to their warehouse (bypassing the wait for delivery) and brought home a beautiful freezer .. then he plugged it in. The freezer instead of getting colder continually got warmer. Hubby and I call the store to ask for a replacement or repairs. They promised to make it right repeatedly over the phone apologizing for the inconvenience... so we waited, and waited for them to find a replacement. Finally got a phone call about a week later ( a few days before Thanksgiving) promising an even bigger freezer with extra features, they would let us know when they had it in their warehouse to schedule delivery. We waited yet another week. Get another phone call saying that the freezer was a Frigidaire brand and it was in the warehouse, scheduled for delivery on Dec 22nd just before Christmas.. hubby again went to the warehouse to bypass the wait for delivery. He said the warehouse guys brought out a tiny little freezer much smaller than the original one, absolutely plain (no features) and some off brand not a Frigidaire. Even if it wasn't a Frigidaire if it had been at least the same size and actually worked - but no, not even close to "making this right" in fact we feel ripped off and lied to or misled. Hubby is still trying to get our money back from them , but not sure exactly how it will pan out... definitely going to contact the BBB and the Attorney General. These guys are sheisters - do not do business with them. This was a classic "bait and switch" ... shame on them. If there was a way to give zero stars and a huge flashing warning banner instead, I would give it and they would deserve it. read more

So to start, they ordered the wrong engine for our broken stove top fan. When the cigarette smelling man came into our house to instal it the engine was almost as big as the stove top cover. LOL. When we requested a refund for the service charges and the charges for the engine they said they would grant it to us, but ended up sending us 4 bills in the mail. All the same bills! Fred's is in the business of selling extended warranties for inferior products. Warranties that cost almost as much as the product. I bought an LG washer and dryer from them and the dryer went out right after the 1 year manufacturer warranty expired. After waiting over a month to get a service appointment, Freds charged me 110 dollars to tell me what I already knew - my dryer was broke! Then they said they could fix it for another $850 dollars. More than what the dryer cost. We spoke to Scott the manager who referred us to the manufacturer. Wow! We have spent thousands there. They dont stand by the products they sell. Appliances should last longer than 1 year. The products aren't worth the money - shop elsewhere! We will never buy from you again! read more

This place was a joke - or at least the salesman on Division was a joke! We were looking at a washer/dryer set and asking about their delivery options. He was 1) trying to sell us a banged up old set for the same price as new and 2) a complete liar! He told us their warehouse was the *only* warehouse with Whirlpool (obvious red flag/lie #1!) AND that no one would deliver before Wednesday (he refused to give us times - we were supposed to sit next to the phone ALL DAY?). Literally not 20 minutes later we had found the exact same set for half the price elsewhere. Oh and the best part? It gets delivered tomorrow morning! I just could not believe the audacity to outright lie! I know salesmen are known to be sketchy, but this dude was next level shady and an obvious liar! Worst customer service experience of my life. We ordered a $35,000 Thermador Appliance package last March (2021). It is now February 2022. We still have not received our microwave. We have a huge "hole" in our remodeled kitchen where it's supposed to go AND our freezer column has never made ice. We have called countless times, our contractor has called countless times. The customer service department has been out 4 times and "fixed" the ice maker twice but it has never worked. They don't return calls, they don't show up for appointments, they make things up over the phone. I would give Fred's, Thermodor and everyone in the repair department zero stars if I could. No ONE cares. Every time I call about the microwave they, on cue, from their script give me a date further out than the last time we spoke. No one follows up, no one follows through. read more

We bought our fridge December 2017 and our ice maker has gone out 5 times!! Three times they fixed it, but now the one year warranty is out so it's on us. Our freezer stopped working a week ago and the fridge part also was not doing so well. Thank goodness I have a home warranty that will fix stuff like this. The fridge appliance repair man took the back of the fridge off and immediately noticed that things had been tampered with and there was no Freon when he checked. This is a $2000 fridge and we have had problem after problem with it, and to know that it was possibly tampered with at the store is horrible. Also, the repairman they sent out each time had to google how to fix things on the fridge. Yeah no. Not okay. I would highly recommend going to Lowe's or another store for your appliances. read more

How could I have forgotten how -- beyond -- tremendously horrible Fred's Appliances is after a sale. I'm kicking myself for buying another kitchen suite from them again on 12/26. The range blew its power panel last night -- impressive episode "take cover". Typical Fred's a) Can't return a call, though my salesman Chris LeDoux was going to call me back. That hasn't happened, (My surprise is lessening & my past experiences with Fred's is coming back to slap me). I call again, before they close... Next salesman can't even look up my 12/26 purchases because the switched to a new system and said, and I quote " The new system went online 1/1 and we were told that customer records would be integrated two weeks before. That hasn't happened. As of now, we have no information on your account, purchase and no way to assist you." I said, you will tomorrow when I bring all of my 12/26 delivers appliances back to you." Two and a half weeks ago we bought a new refrigerator from Fred's Ding and Dent Center on Division. The refrigerator seems fine but we have had possibly the worst customer service I've ever seen in Spokane. The original delivery of the fridge was incomplete, as they said they could not get the it through any of the doors into our house. They said we needed to remove either the front door frame or part of a gutter near the front door for it to fit. I said, okay and reluctantly signed for the fridge which they left in my garage with the promise that someone would come back to get it up the stairs and install it soon once we fixed the problem on our end. They neglected to mention that it's possible to remove the fridge doors (which apparently they do all the time, per the sales guy), which would have easily gotten it in the house. We measured ourselves to be sure. TWICE, appointments were set for them to return and TWICE, they DID NOT SHOW UP, NOR DID THEY CALL (and my husband took a morning off of work to be at home for the installation). After more than five attempts to reach them by phone (through out this whole ordeal) and promises that the manager would get involved and call us back, I had to drive to the store where I found the person I needed to talk to just sitting around. They apologized and promised for a THIRD time that the installation would be done, but we realized they don't make customers a priority. We had to "go to the back of the line" again and wait. It would be ANOTHER week before they could come out. They also promised our delivery fee would be refunded. That was a week ago. So far it has not been. Three days more have passed since they made the third appointment and we STILL HAVE NOT received a call back from either the sales associate, the local manager, or the main manager, all of whom we have left multiple messages for to have our call returned. I have finally hired someone else locally to do the work. I'm sure Fred's has enough business that this won't make much difference, but I am filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and Fred's has seen the last of our business! Update: A Fred's salesman called us and apologized again several times. He is arranging for us to get a refund of our delivery and installation fee. read more

Purchased a Frigidaire Professional refrigerator, the delivery team dented the stainless steel door and said nothing. We wondered why the walked across to the other side of the room for us to sign the delivery paperwork and they high tailed it out of there like a skunk had let loose. Well it did, it was their stinky delivery service. Don't by a Frigidaire Professional refrigerator, not a quality product. At the digital temp setting of 37 degree's F our food freezes on the backside of the frig. The ice tray won't stay snapped in place so we end up with ice cubes on the floor every time we open the bottom freezer door. Also purchased a Bertazzoni induction stove. The delivery team could not get it leveled to the counter top and squared in the opening. They wouldn't install the anti tip bracket too. I finally got out the manual and just did it myself. We're new to Spokane and needed a dryer- someone recommended Fred's Appliance. Honestly, I was only interested in going to Home Depot. We ended up getting a dryer at Fred's that was very reasonably priced. We had some issues, my husband called Fred's and they handled it quickly and without any grief- they even upgraded us to a better model- at no charge! I've gotten so used to a world where decent customer service almost doesn't exist - so I have to say that our experience with Fred's Appliance gives me hope and we wouldn't hesitate to purchase another appliance from them! read more

Replaced my entire kitchen (stove, refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher and freezer) from Fred's about six months ago, spending several thousand dollars. The dishwasher I purchased from Fred's has been repaired three times, and still does not work. I have found their service personnel to be less than courteous and difficult to reach. They rarely return phone calls. I am fully dissatisfied with Fred's after-sale customer service and my dishwasher STILL does not work properly. I am again waiting for a return call from the service folks and not looking forward to facing the holidays with a house full of guests and no working dishwasher. I am considering involving our attorney unless they either fix or replace this machine. POOR AFTER THE SALE SERVICE. THEY HAVE THE APPLICANCE, BUT IT WON'T WORK. read more

After 28 year's of purchasing refrigerator from Fred's. Very disappointed. Obviously Fred is not running this place anymore. Has great staff and it appears Fred is not in charge of taking care of customers and staff.. Customers and staff helped fred's business grow and become a big business. What a shame to find out the business loyalty to customers and staff has changed. If a product is bad. Business side take care of it. Don't take additional money from the sales person or the customer... when you do it makes you shady. Fred didn't treat us like that. Unless you bring back the original customer first attitude and treat your staff right. This will make customers change who they want to buy from. Remember it is not the customers or the sales person fault if the product doesn't work right. Make it right should come from he business and manufacturing pocket. Not myself or the sales person. When trying to get a hold of regional manager or owner you're given service manager and a run around. When trying to find information to let the owner know what is happening and if they want to know what is going on. You do not get the information so you can ask if they realize how the customer is seeing the business. Hopefully things will change. Pay attention to customers. And value ever person who represents your company. Working class deserves a company HONESTY and know that they appreciate both staff as well as the customer. read more
