Bosch tried to send a scratched up rebuilt part when my appliance is 2 years old and looked new. I don't like the bot communication use. now my 2 year old washing machine, GE, is broken and had to wait 2 weeks to have it evaluated. let the wait begin again to get parts and repair it. Fred's really needs to improve the service department. going months without certain appliances is not ok. I have warranties on all of them. good thing too. read more

I received a phone call Friday verifying delivery day and time. My driver called 15 when he was minutes out. The removal and install was quick, the guys were very knowledgeable and friendly! My experience with Fred's Appliance was extremely disappointing. I contacted them because I needed an estimate for a microwave repair so I could determine whether it made sense to repair the unit or proceed through my Home Depot protection plan. Before the appointment, I provided the model number, serial number, barcode, and explained that the display was completely dead while the microwave itself still functioned. Instead of telling me the approximate cost of the required part or advising that the repair would likely exceed the value of the microwave, I was told a technician had to come to my home. The technician arrived, spent about two minutes at my house, took another picture of the same barcode I had already sent, confirmed exactly what I had already reported that the integrated display in the door had failed and told me the repair would cost more than the microwave was worth. During the visit, I told the technician I didn't understand why I had to pay for someone to come out and repeat the information I had already provided. I also made it clear that I was not authorizing the repair because it wasn't economically reasonable. Despite that, my invoice initially showed the repair quote as "accepted," which the company later admitted was an error and said they would correct. Fred's Appliance maintains that the $139 trip charge (over $150 after mileage and tax) is valid because it is their policy. While I understand businesses charge diagnostic fees, I don't believe this visit provided any meaningful diagnostic value beyond confirming the exact information I had already given them before the appointment. If you're considering using this company, make sure you fully understand that you may be paying over $150 for a very brief visit, even if the technician simply confirms what you've already documented. TERRIBLE. ABSOLUTELY AWFUL. My family and I bought a washer/dryer combo, we've had problems since last year, the thing sucks now, and we had one more appointment today, (BC OF THE WARRANTY WE CAN'T BUY A NEW ONE) and the technician broke our machine! It started, not dripping, not leaking, FLOWING water out of the machine. There's water damage in the basement ceiling, laundry room floor, etc, we'll have to replace the ceiling boards and the entire upper floor now unless the repair crew can fix it. Never buying from this place again. this is our laundry room; that's right, it's sealed off. It was that bad. read more

Bought a new home from large builder in Kennewick, WA that had a LG oven already installed. The oven was missing a thermostat cover and was over-cooking my food. We called Fred's and they came out three months ago and confirmed the missing part. We followed-up several times and were finally told Fred's could not identify the part with LG and to call LG ourselves if we wanted it fixed. I ended up calling LG directly and they are sending an LG service tech to cover this under warranty. I would not recommend Fred's if your appliance is missing a part or needs service. read more

Extremely disappointed with Fred's Appliance. After more than a year of dealing with their service department, we've had nothing but delays, poor communication, and now outright rudeness from management. When my husband walked in to discuss yet another failure of our Bosch combo oven/microwave (covered under an extended warranty), the manager, Rick, cut him off before he could even speak and said: "I am not replacing your oven." Here's the history: the microwave failed over a year before the warranty expired. Since then, Fred's has sent technicians out at least 10-12 times. Each visit takes weeks to schedule, followed by months of waiting for parts--only for the "fix" to fail again. The most recent repair lasted all of two uses before the unit broke down again. Now, after a year of failed attempts to repair the same issue, Fred's is refusing to replace the unit, claiming the warranty is expired--even though the problem began long before. At this point, we're escalating to higher management and consulting a lawyer. This experience has been beyond frustrating and completely unacceptable. read more
