I just had Noah replace the soft top on my 2004 350Z roadster and I couldn't be more pleased with the product, workmanship, and follow-up. Great service at a very reasonable price. My advice is to simply trust Noah's recommendations and judgement as he truly knows his craft and product line. However, be aware, that once you install a new convertible top there is a "break-in" period for a minimum of a week, so you can't drop the top during this time. That had my sister bumming as she happened to be on Island and loves tooling around in the Zcar with the top down. Bottom line: I totaly love my replacement top 10 times better than the factory original and the infinity glass panel rocks. Had a sagging headliner with foam falling from the ceiling on my ridgeline. Called different places near me in Aiea and Fred's answered my calls, gave me an accurate quote, an accurate time frame, and availability. Other places near me that answered my calls had an obvious miscommunication and maybe that is why those places actually quoted me higher. Fred's was the cheapest reasonable price. I'm usually a DIY person and planned to do everything myself but I pulled the headliner, removed the old one and cleaned the old foam up. I didn't have the ideal workspace, didnt want to buy extra tools, didn't want to screw up, and didn't have the experience/research, wanted it to be done right and fast so the price I was quoted was reasonable. Dropped off my removed and cleaned headliner and in 3 hours got a call saying they were done. Everything about the transaction was smooth and super friendly. The worker even took 5 mins of his time to maneuver the headliner into my truck and tack in place to get home. I buttoned up everything at home and checked their work. Everything looks good and am so glad the headliner is restored to its former glory. Great job. Any future headliner upholstery jobs, will definitely come back here again based on all the reasons above. read more

Can't express how amazing Fred Auto Top Shop (aka FATS) was and how amazing Noah, the owner was! My mom took her 1975 rebuilt car in, which had a ridiculously torn up and duck-taped drivers seat from a horrible mechanic I will not name. It was pretty bad. We brought it in around 830am in the morn and the seat was like NEW when we returned at 5pm that same day. He had also talked to my mom about other preferences on the seat cushion she wanted that morn. She now sits a little higher and happier when she drives! As for Noah, this review is more about him. We couldn't say enough how cool this guy is. Super down to earth, explains everything, very thorough, fast, and in my opinion, just genuinely cares about doing the best work for your car as possible. I've been taking our bench press pad to Noah for years and each time he does excellent work; he suggested the material we may want to use (jet ski material=anti skid) and it works great and have since referred others to him. I have a 2008 Audi TT convertible. I had a problem with my rear windshield, the canvas material was coming off the top half part of the glass. Apparently it is a common problem with Audi converitbles (SMH on Audi). Noah was very knowledgable about convertible tops and quoted me $450 to do the job. A bit pricey but I must say, they did a good job on sealing my window. read more

Noah was great to work with on my 1992 Porsche. The Cabriolet had broken a cable and one of the B-Pillars. Noah Suggested replacing both as there were hair line fractures on the second one. He also recommended replacing the entire fabric as mine was well maintained but had some minor issues. Noah used OEM part which cost more but made sure it all worked correctly. He sent photos of the repair as he went and answered any questions. The Top looks great and works like a charm. read more

Noah has been extremely honest and fair since the beginning and I'll continue to bring my cars here for upholstery work. Since I had a good experience from the last time, I brought my Mercedes-Benz E350 to have the moon roof reupholstered. I figured that since that was going to be reupholstered, that perhaps the whole roof should be redone. Noah, the shop owner, evaluated the repair and advised me against reupholstering the roof, noting that the roof looked newer than the moon roof. He shared with me that it was in good condition of that replacing it would be a waste of money. I shared with him that I bought the car as a CPO vehicle, in which he added that the roof was probably replaced before the dealership sold it to me. I really appreciate his honesty and insightfulness. He could have easily accepted the job, done the work, and collected on it. He also repaired a track issue where the moon roof door wasn't sliding smoothly and was occasionally getting stuck. I was dreading an expensive bill from the dealership as several auto shops wouldn't touch it. He was able to fix it for about $150. He also now carries manufacturer fabrics and materials. When he reupholstered my moon roof, the fabric matched the rest of the headliner. If your car needs reupholstering, give Fred's a call! read more

I was driving around with my vehicle's headliner hanging half way down for way too long. I decided it was time to get it fixed once and for all. I looked up some places on Yelp and saw that Fred's Auto Top Shop had 2 five star reviews. I called them up and scheduled an appointment. The place was a bit hard to find since it is not located on the street level, but I found it without much of a problem. I dealt with Noah and one of his employees, and both were very nice and friendly. They also have an awesome dog that hangs out in the shop. Noah quoted me a couple hundred to do the repairs and let me pick out the color of the headliner. The next day I dropped off my car and the repairs were done the same day. After picking up my vehicle, I was really impressed by the quality of the repairs. It feels like I have a new car now, and the headliner even gives my car that "new car" smell. I can't believe how great of a job these guys did in such a short amount of time. I would definetly recommend Fred's Auto Top Shop to others who have headliner issues with their car.
