these guys were great. I too have been victim of the Midas rip off, I refused to go back to them (Midas), so I did a search and found this shop. I called and was given a quote, which was about 150 dollars less then the cheapest quote that I got, which was great, but again having gone through this with other shops, i knew that once they got my tires off, they were going to find something else. So I was prepared to here it. They took my truck right in and went to work. There was lots of noise and lots of banging so I knew that with every loud sound the price went up. He came back into the office.... so now I'm prepared for the other shoe to drop......then he told me the price and I almost passed out.... it was the SAME price that he quoted me!!!! He didn't jack up any price, he didn't try to up sell me nothing, he was straight forward, I was truly amazed!!! Then the next thing I knew, having been in this situation before, that it was 12pm, I was going to be there until 4:30, 4:45. He told me it will be ready in about an hour, in my mind I was like yeah right, so I told him I was going to walk up the street to grab a bite to eat. I came back about hour later, ready to sit down and do some beige watching on netflix on my phone, but to my surprise my truck wasn't there and as I walked to the door in shock the mechanic pulled up and said everything is good, I took it on a test drive and everything is fine..... In total shock, I said it's only been about an hour, you guys can't possibly be done... he said oh yeah were done. BEST place to take your car when there is a problem! These 2 guys are the most genuine and down to earth mechanics I have ever met. They are honest and will give you a fair price on exactly what is going on with your car. I had to write these guys an amazing review after Belle Tire almost completely ripped my wife and I off after Belle's "safety inspection" supposedly showed that my struts were leaking and the sway bars were worn out (just replaced last year) and that their recommendation would be replace the entire unit as a whole (struts, mates, and sway bars) and to do it soon as the car may become non-driveable. I work medical so I got a second opinion from my boys at Fred's that I've used before and they gave me a COMPLIMENTARY inspection and found that NOTHING was wrong with my car at all (even went for a drive)! Normal wear and tear was found. They were appalled that Belle Tire would make such a recommendation, as am I. Excellent. I had some work done to replace rusty brake lines on a vehicle that is for my daughter who is away at college. The worked was looked at by another mechanic (friend) later and he remarked that the work is "excellent". Several months later my daughter is several hours away at college and had to take her car to a shop. While looking at it they noticed a leak in the front brake hose. They thought it might have been caused by rubbing. I mentioned that it hadn't been long since the brakes were done. They contact Fred's and Fred's shipped them a part and took care of the cost to replace the part. There was no hassle and it was repaired right away. They have no relationship with the other shop. I rarely come across such great service and desire to stand behind work. I would recommend Fred's to anyone. Excellent, honest business. read more

My brakes suddenly started grinding loudly. I call Fred and told him my issue. When I arrived, I got out of the car and Fred walked up to me by the car and asked if I was the one with the grinding issue. He took it for a test drive and drove it back into an open stall. Within 20 minutes he gave me a quote and also told me he noticed a noisy suspension. This has been bothering me for (3) years but I was worried about the cost. He gave me a very reasonable quote on new sway bar links so I told him to fix it also. New front brakes, rotors, and sway bar links were fixed in 1-1/2 hours. Unbelieveable! I've been using Fred's for the past year. I have found Scott and the two others to be honest and straightforward, and responsive time-wise to my requests. They have caught things that I did not have them look at, and when one repair was not quite right they quickly made it right with no fuss. I'd do 5 stars but the thing I find lacking is they are not full service - if you want to get your oil changed while doing other work you won't be able to. But for what they do, they are better experienced and better than most out there. read more

Set up an appointment for a brake job, as I knew I would have to wait at Fred's while the work was being done. I was able to get in the very next morning and repairs were completed within an hour and a half... quicker than estimated. The cost/price was also "very" competitive and to the dime as quoted to me. Very honest business. Took my car in because I heard a noise that I thought was my brakes. They told me my brakes were fine. A part under my car was loose & they attached it to get me by. They did not charge me for anything. They could have put new brakes on & I would never have questioned it. Very happy & will definitely go back when I do need new brakes. read more
