Everything was good and well presented. A little salt and pepper didn't hurt to add but loved the down home touch of food options. Food options such as pot roast, beans, rutabaga, or cabbage offered in a buffet which I love about Fred's . Everyone can enjoy something here. Seating is arranged for many big groups or families or just a solo outing. Customer service was attentive and nice. If you want real food without cooking, this is your place to go

I have visited Fred's Market many times. The Meatloaf and Catfish are my favorites. The Corn casserole and Sweet potato is also really good. My Sister and I ordered Iced Tea and the server was very nice and refilled them several times. The server also gave us the options of all you can eat or one plate special. The ambiance was cozy and down home. I will definitely keep coming back.

Our server, Leah, greeted us and asked our drink order. She was such a sweetheart and kept refilling our iced teas. I had ribs, meatloaf, macaroni and cheese and I tried the chicken and dumplings. For dessert, I had banana pudding. Everything was delicious! It was pretty busy, but we were there at 6pm. A great experience!

We made a quick stop here with family and I've heard sooooo many good things about it. The parking lot of my packed and we made no reservations so had a little wait for a table, all sounds promising. They have a couple of options for food, buffet, blue plate and order a plate. I got the buffet. everything looked really good. I went through the line twice to get on both sides but all in all I wasn't a fan.

3 stars because I couldn't get over the extremely runny eggs. For me, eggs are the main course of breakfast and I honestly couldn't. I was hoping they were going to plop a fresh batch of fully cooked eggs. Nope, more runny eggs. I have been to the Fred's in Lakeland, and remember nice fluffy cooked scrambled eggs. Overall, Fred's has got all the essentials eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes every way. I poured gravy on my potatoes and it was quite a delight! Fried catfish could have used some kind of flavor. They also have a small selection of fruits and cereal boxes. Our server was sweet but a little busy. This restaurant is in a small town so I'm not sure if there are ample of options but it's a solid breakfast place.

Finally, finally, finally got the chance to feast my famine at the long, awaited chow down at Fred's Market Restaurant. Yeah......!! If anyone have ever visited Savannah, GA, and had the Mrs. Wilkes Kitchen feast, then ya know this is about the same. Minus the rush for their long line wait list outside. Side from that, I suffered dearly. Really. Really suffered dearly. Thank you for that, and "I'll Be Back."!!

Fred's Market is a solid stop for anyone hungry for a good breakfast. My family visited the Lakeland location on a Sunday morning. It was busy. We were seated at a large table in the back. Quiet, roomy and a great place to eat. This place was bustling with people and staff. A few staff members came around to greet us and explain things. They were super kind and friendly. All the staff we encountered were. If you passed someone working there, they said hello and welcomed you. The food here is simple. Southern staples in a buffet style, all you can eat extravaganza. You either get a blue plate or a regular plate. Blue plates are good for the smaller appetite. You can make one trip to the buffet line and pile on as much as you can. It's only $2 less. The buffet had all the classics. Biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, grits, pancakes, French toast, fried green tomaters and fruit and yogurt options. I did one savory plate and one sweet plate. It covered all the bases and I was satisfied. Everything was tasty but nothing stood out as fantastic. Except for the fried chicken. Oh yes, at Fred's you eat the fried chicken for breakfast, because it's that good. Crispy skin, juicy dark meat. We all had a good time and left full. It was also affordable. I'd come back here again.

Rotisserie chicken, pulled pork, fried green tomato's, mashed potatoes, ribs, corn casserole, Lima beans

The staff works really hard and fast. The food is mediocre buffet style. The ambiance is very casual with an older crowd.

Hours to get free coffee with breakfast?

They serve coffee all day (I believe)

Are all of Fred's Florida restaurants buffet style?

Yes, but you have the option to order off of the menu as well. The breakfast buffet is well worth it and the pork chops, sausage gravy and biscuits are a MUST try!

It's located in a busy plaza with Publix and other shops, so parking is easy and plentiful. The restaurant can get pretty packed, but unless you're coming in with a large group, reservations aren't really necessary. The buffet leans heavily Asian, offering sushi, a wide variety of seafood dishes, classic Chinese favorites, and a hibachi station. That said, if you're not big on seafood (like me), you'll still find some solid American options. Many Asian buffets tend to limit those choices to basics like pizza and chicken tenders, but Buffet City goes a bit further. I was pleasantly surprised to see pot roast, mashed and roasted potatoes, and even fried chicken. They also have soups, salads, and a dessert selection that's actually pretty good. Come prepared--this is definitely an "elastic waistband" kind of place because you're going to want to eat your money's worth. The restaurant is surprisingly clean and well-kept, and the food stays fresh. The hibachi station has a great selection, and the chef is quick and thorough. Service is decent. Staff come around to refill drinks and clear plates regularly--but be warned, if you're not finished, guard your plate like it's gold. Same goes for your utensils--leave them on a plate, and they're gone. Overall, we really enjoyed the experience--the food, the atmosphere, and the fun of loading up our plates with a little bit of everything. Hope you enjoy it just as much! Let me know what you think.

Husband and I got the half pork platter with one side. He got beans, which he said were delicious. I got a fresh garden salad with honey mustard. Pork was just right. It was quiet and peaceful so we were able to catch up in normal speaking voices. Didn't have to shout to be heard. Our waitress was attentive and kept checking up on us. We appreciated that kind of service. We only had to get one to go box for our friend. Husband and I got clean plate awards! Friend paid her bill with a credit card. We used Apple Pay after scanning the QR code. I don't remember paying a surcharge for not using cash, which was refreshing. When we left an hour later, more people were in booths, and the bar area was no longer empty. This is a really nice place, with good food and service. It should be full all the time!

The restaurant has plenty of space-both the dining room and parking lot are large, making it easy to accommodate bigger groups. When you walk in, there is a medium-sized bar towards the back, and spacious dining area to the left with both booths and tables. Our group of eight chose to sit outside on the patio, which was comfortable even though it faces the parking lot. The atmosphere overall felt warm and welcoming. Our server, Emily, was wonderful- friendly, upbeat, and incredibly attentive. Even though she was new, she handled our table like a pro. The menu offers a solid selection at reasonable prices. We started with Fried Pickles and Chicken Wings, which the whole table enjoyed. For entrees, we ordered a variety of dishes; the Brisket Sandwich, Pulled Pork, Smokehouse Wrap, Smoked Chicken Plate, and the Baked Potato Bowl. Each meal came with a side dish, including Mac & Cheese, Fries, Collard Greens, Hushpuppies, and Cornbread. Everyone was happy with their food. Portions were generous, and the meats were smoked beautifully-tender, juicy, and full of flavor! We lingered at the table, enjoying both the food and the company. Low and Slow Smokehouse delivered a great experience with excellent food and friendly service. We'll definitely be back!
