B-DAY BREAKFAST ADVENTURE My mother and I wanted to go out for a Birthday breakfast near her house. We found Eagle Lake Fam Diner Walking in it's kinda tight as they have a buffet right when u walk in, next to it is the register. So this entrance area is a bit congested. The dining room is cozy with a good amount of tables. It is a seat yourself place until they get close to full, then they start a waiting list. They have two areas for outdoor seating in addition to the interior. It is definitely a local customer establishment as I saw other tables who knew the servers and sat down after my mother and I, get service first. Not a huge deal, but definitely noticeable to new customers. I know when I'm at a new sit down eatery. As I walk in, sit down and look at the menu. I'm also looking all around at everything, watching the servers/other guests and taking everything in. Because of this New to me inspection most of us have. New customers just notice more!!! A customer/past industry workers thought: Smaller establishments should keep this in mind. New customers may add to an establishments earnings if they feel welcome and return!!! Back to the experience!!! We waited about 6 mins and then a server stopped by for our drink order. Went and got our drinks quickly and before leaving the table she stated our server would be with us shortly. A couple mins later there she was. She apologized for the delay and took our order promptly. Our drink choices were coffee and water. The coffee was diner coffee according to my mother and was adequate and hot. My mother got a short stack of pancakes and I chose to try their Sirloin and eggs. The pancakes looked fluffy and cooked perfectly. My mother enjoyed them!!! The Sirloin was lightly seasoned and cooked perfectly. Wish there was a little more seasoning, but it was a nice cut of meat and tasty. 2 eggs over easy were well cooked and the fried cubed home fries were fresh cut in house. Not frozen like most places. They were so very good!!! The only reason for the 4 Stars is the layout of the place. Older processes in place that if updated they would create better efficiencies for themselves and the customers. From the crowded interior entryway and having to take your check to the register to pay. It creates congestion!!! My experience went as follows. I was standing in line to pay. While waiting I experienced 2 people cut in line b/c of all the shifting people through the line . The reason people are shifting is to allow others through. Whether it be from customers coming in the front door and having to pass the line to get to the dining room. The waitresses grabbing food from the window over the buffet which is right next to the register so you cannot line up in front of the buffet and block it. Then the waitress walking into the dining room. While other guests are walking past to put their name on the wait list, which happens at the register. It was just allot of congestion and a bit of chaos. This was a Remembrance of non tech times of the past. If you know you know, lol Food to value ratio = Excellent. We paid $26.08 for everything and the food was well worth it!!! I will definitely be bringing the rest of the Family for breakfast sometime in the near future. AS ALWAYS TRY IT FOR YOURSELF!!!

I love to stop here for lunch while traveling for work. They have a daily lunch buffet for really reasonable prices, but I haven't gotten it yet because I'm worried I would over eat and then be too tired to finish my day. However, I love to come in and order off the menu. The place is usually quite busy when I come in, especially when the snowbirds are in town. The prices are reasonable and it is typical diner fare with a southern spin. You seat yourself and can order the buffet or off the menu. Breakfast is served all day. The fries here are excellent and mine have always been served piping hot. Service is friendly and quick. Great place to stop if you find yourself in Eagle Lake.

5 stars for a greasy spoon diner with an easy going atmosphere. Friendly service and great food! I've only been here for breakfast so I can't speak to any other meal but it's become a tradition for my family to eat here when I come into town from Tennessee. I recommend the grits, toast and eggs! I've had the fired potatoes a few times but in my opinion they need a little more flavor or seasoning. The pancakes are so good I don't even use syrup-I know, I'm weird. But seriously try a bite with just butter! Mmmmm! Bottom line is this place is a jewel! If you're in Polk County it's worth the trip!

It's located in a busy plaza with Publix and other shops, so parking is easy and plentiful. The restaurant can get pretty packed, but unless you're coming in with a large group, reservations aren't really necessary. The buffet leans heavily Asian, offering sushi, a wide variety of seafood dishes, classic Chinese favorites, and a hibachi station. That said, if you're not big on seafood (like me), you'll still find some solid American options. Many Asian buffets tend to limit those choices to basics like pizza and chicken tenders, but Buffet City goes a bit further. I was pleasantly surprised to see pot roast, mashed and roasted potatoes, and even fried chicken. They also have soups, salads, and a dessert selection that's actually pretty good. Come prepared--this is definitely an "elastic waistband" kind of place because you're going to want to eat your money's worth. The restaurant is surprisingly clean and well-kept, and the food stays fresh. The hibachi station has a great selection, and the chef is quick and thorough. Service is decent. Staff come around to refill drinks and clear plates regularly--but be warned, if you're not finished, guard your plate like it's gold. Same goes for your utensils--leave them on a plate, and they're gone. Overall, we really enjoyed the experience--the food, the atmosphere, and the fun of loading up our plates with a little bit of everything. Hope you enjoy it just as much! Let me know what you think.

It definitely is not for like $22 for adults and $17 for kids (which I think is the price I saw). It's the exact same breakfast you get at the Legoland hotel/pirate hotel. It's AYCE eggs, biscuits, sausage and bacon (or veggie sausage if you request it), French toast sticks and breakfast potatoes. Fruit, cereal and yogurt is available upon request. For me, the biscuits are delicious (we should always request extra since the kids like it.) I also like the vegan sausage. The kids like the bacon and sausage and sometimes the French toast sticks. Nobody likes the eggs. My husband loves the biscuit and gravy (the gravy has pork) and liked the potatoes. The coffee is atrocious, be warned. You might as well make it in the room and bring it. There is a Lego place for the kids at the back of the restaurant. The kids love the Lego area and it buys us some peace and quiet. Our server was fantastic. Service can be hit or miss, but I really liked ours this morning. We got there at 9 am and it was about a 25 minute wait. If it's free you might as well do it, if you don't get it free with the room you should skip.

The service was excellent from start to finish. the staff was friendly, attentive, and made sure my dining experience was enjoyable. I've visited this location several times over the years, so i had high expectations. unfortunately, the steak didn't meet those expectations and was my least favorite part of the meal. it was disappointing, especially compared to my previous visits. While this visit didn't end the way I had hoped, the outstanding service, clean restaurant, and the rest of the meal were enough for me to leave a 5-star review. We understand that mistakes happen, and when we were brought the wrong drink and the wrong side, we were completely fine with it. However, when the correct drink was brought to our table by a waitress who was not our server, she wasn't even sure she had the right table and said she was told it was "for the pregnant lady." I am not pregnant, and I found that comment extremely inappropriate and uncomfortable. Unfortunately, the experience continued to go downhill. I went to the women's bathroom shortly after arriving, and it was very dirty. There was paper all over the floor, the toilet seat was up, and there appeared to be feces on the toilet. I had to use toilet paper to put the seat down because I did not want to touch it. I went back to the bathroom again before we left, and the paper was still all over the floor. Both trash cans were overflowing, and it was also very difficult to get paper towels out to dry my hands. On top of the cleanliness issues, the staff did not seem particularly friendly or welcoming. Being called "fat" was also extremely upsetting and unacceptable. Regardless of the circumstances, customers should be treated with basic respect and courtesy. We were patient and understanding throughout the evening, but unfortunately, the overall experience was very disappointing. Based on tonight's experience, we most likely will not be returning to this location. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and addresses both the cleanliness issues and the way customers are being treated.
