This place is home cooking made to order. The restaurant is a refurbished Pizza Hut classic red roof. And just amazing. The decor is very homey. License plates along the walls with photos of friends. Booth was super comfortable and the ac was working like it was on the payroll. Their menu was huge and gave a lot of options. We had their breakfast and it was delicious. I tried the shrimp and cheese omelette because it sounded different and it was amazing fried shrimp with peppers and onions with classic melty cheese. I had the grits because I wanted to try it with the shrimp and just wonderful. The Julius mix was memory in a cup. Reminded me of the mall style orange Julius. Just what was needed. The server had her birthday and she was on top of it. Refills as needed and just checking up on us. I wish I remembered her name to shout it out. The building has gone through many renovations in the past years. I guess being on Memorial Bl it probably gets overlooked quite often. Inside is opening seating with a few booths along the perimeter. Obviously it's not a fancy place. We went there for breakfast. They had the usual breakfast items. I decided on the counrty fried steak with hash browns and a grilled biscuit. I actually wasn't given that. Another person in our group took my order and never questioned it. So I ended up with a country fried steak, grits, and a biscuit. The steak was decent sized portion. My guess it comes pre-made a frozen. The grits were a bit thick for my liking but with a little butter and salt they were fine. The biscuit was good but again I suspect it's pre-made. The coffee was nice and strong. Service was good considering we had a group of 10. I'd be willing to try it again just to be fair. The price out the door with a tip was $20. read more

Cool place service was pretty good food was average and the prices for the portions are way out of whack. If the prices and portions were better I would come back. But I would go other places for better food at better prices. Waitress was the best part of the place hands down. read more

We got a blt and the bacon was not cooked the milk was warm , very disappointed we stop here every time we come to Lakeland but not again .

I was hesitant when I saw the outside of the restaurant, but we were pleasantly surprised with a clean and wonderful inside. It is an old Pizza Hut, with the same quaintness, but including pretty and interesting license plates lining the walls. I ordered a grilled cheese, and it came with a cole slaw, and both were very good. Everything was very clean! I will come back. read more

My husband and I came here for breakfast one morning and he loved it so much that he requested to come back for Father's Day breakfast. This is a nice, clean little place that just does breakfast/brunch and lunch. It has plenty of seating and a good-sized menu. It definitely had everything that we could want at fair prices. The waitresses here are really friendly and listen to what you want and suggest things as well. The coffee is good diner coffee. The grits are bland, but that's expected at many diners around here that have an older clientele. The omelettes and skillet dishes are delicious. They know how to cook an egg. The bacon is done just right as well. Biscuits are super fluffy. Speaking of biscuits, the sausage gravy is top-notch. Absolutely one of the better ones around here. Large chunks of sausage and creamy, peppery white sauce with no lumps. I highly recommend if you like biscuits and gravy. Plenty of parking, just be careful on Memorial Blvd if you are on the opposite side of the road and have to make a u-turn to get here. read more

They charge $.99 per egg if you do egg whites only, which would of cost over $13. Just like a Midwest comfort meal for breakfast/brunch. It's almost always known that if there's a restaurant inside an old Pizza Hut, then the food is going to be amazing. It's definitely the case for The Brunch Box. The staff are so friendly and fun. They give you honest opinions about which dish of your choosing is best to try. The food was amazing. I stopped in for breakfast here as it was close to a Drs appt that I had and I didn't want to go to leave the general vicinity The restaurant was clean and pleasant. The waitress was very sweet and patient as it took me a minute or two to look at the menu and make a decision. I had the scrambled eggs with diced ham,hash browns and an English muffin waaay better than drive thru. Hot and fresh real food. When the waitress asked me to make a bread choice I was happy that they had English muffins as an option, but I hesitated. Without missing a beat the waitress said " I will look and see if we have orange marmalade ". Yaaaaas! I had the muffin grilled instead of toasted and it was wonderful. Truly had I known that it was that good I would have skipped the potatoes and had 2 muffins. I bread. The staff here was SUPER nice there were people that came in that were obviously regulars which is always a good sign for me. I enjoyed this spot and will definitely come back when I am out this way. My only disappointment was that they only had half &half for the coffee, I wasn't up for the spectacle of lactose intolerance this morning which meant that I couldn't have my coffee WITH my English muffin. The service is very good. Crystal does a great job! Most of our group enjoyed the food. However, one person and I ordered Eggs Benedict and both of us agreed that the "hollandaise"sauce was terrible. This used to be a favorite lunch stop for my wife and I, but not after today. The only thing worse than the food was the service. My wife's Shepherds Pie used to be a favorite, but it appears this restaurant is under new ownership, and it also appears the new owners didn't get the old recipes. Took our server almost 15 minutes to take the drink order, but she did acknowledge us early on. Seemed odd that the full dining room showed virtually NO FOOD on the tables. We placed our order, and 40 minutes later it arrived. I don't know what to call the mess of eggs that were served, but they were not even close to the over medium that was ordered. My ham steak had a bad odor and taste, so it went back. Friend's link sausage wasn't right either, and when split in half, showed something foreign in the center. These went back also. The owner did adjust the bill according, and our server apologized profusely (none of this was her fault). As I was paying the owner at the register, 2 other customers came up to pay and told her they would never be back. I gave her the same feedback. We went today to have breakfast. When we got there there were only 2 other couples in the restaurant. We gave our order and we had to check twice to see what was taking so long. First was told the grill was acting up. After 10 more minutes we had the server check again and then was told it was the sauce for the eggs Benedict. We explained if not there in 5 minutes then we are leaving. After a few more minutes the food was finally there. This process took 45 minutes to get our food. Other people came in and got their food before us. Server only checked on us st the end of the meal and we asked the bill to be split. She did not do that right either. So very disappointed in the situation and the server. Went to pay the bill and asked for a discount and was given 10%. I told the cashier that was a slap in the face. She said they are busy on Sundays. Explains to her there were only 2 couples when we came in. I told she should have kept her 10% and that we will never be back! Never knew this place existed until today when a friend decided to treat me to lunch. Man am I happy I found this hidden gem. Yummy, affordable, cozy, friendly, homey! I got a Ruben and it was awesome. My friends got eggs, pancakes, and one got a burger and fries. Everyone looked great and the portions were generous. The prices were super affordable and they offered drinks to go which was very thoughtful and unlike most places today. They are only open until 1 except for Friday's they open back up at 3pm for their all you can eat fish fry. I will definitely be back to check that out. Service was awesome and super friendly/personable. My friends fries were over done and our waitress was more than happy to get her a new batch. The dinning area was very homey. I've been eating at Brunch Box for years and the service has gotten worse since new ownership. Went in today and waited 30+ minutes, only for a server, not ours by the way, to come by and tell us there was no order in the kitchen for us. Needless to say we won't be going back. Owner muttered I'm sorry as we got up and left. Never, ever going back. Can't imagine she wouldn't have comped at least one meal to keep us in the restaurant, but no such luck. read more

Eight years since my last review. This is an okay diner, though I don't feel safe in this area parking way out back, so only stop if near-the-door parking is available. I enjoyed a reuben with a salad for $6.35. It was tasty and fairly priced. My table was not clean when I arrived and chose it and no one noticed, cleaned it myself. Place is not as clean as 8 years ago and waitresses are harder to catch. But I was served quickly and got what I came over. Nice variety of options and large board tells what they're out of (today it was marked with meat loaf and 5 desserts). 10% off to first responders in uniform and military with ID. Nice touch. As far as the reviewer who thinks it's okay to bring food from another place into a restaurant, it's not--and you shouldn't need a sign to tell you. First off, I would like to say this place literally hires complete and total meth heads. Whenever we get there, it takes our waitress 10 minutes to get our drink order. the manager saw that we were sitting there with no menus and we still hadn't got our drinks like 8 minutes after she took our drink order so she got our drinks for us and than after we got our drinks our waitress came to get our order. we waited 35 minutes i swear to god every table around us got our food even ones that came in way after us. so we asked the manager if our waitress put our food in and she went and checked and when she came back she said it would be another 15 minutes. so we got up and left and we got charger $6.57 for a lemonade and a half and half. Our waitress had lime green crust and gunk all over her neck. this place is a disgrace. read more

Ate here today for the first time and really liked it. Service was quick and our waitress was sweet and kept checking in with us. Ordered the special of the day, Lasagna - very generous size with tons of meat and cheese, not soupy like so many lasagnas, you can tell it is actually freshly made. The toast that came with it was well buttered and seasoned. The side salad is very basic but the house dressing is good and I can't complain for the price of the large lasagna, salad, bread and large soda for 10 even. Co-worker got the Reuben and potato salad, which he said were also great. Will definitely be coming back here, such a friendly atmosphere and I can't believe how much food selection they offer. Prices more than reasonable. For homemade desserts of the day they had Hummingbird Cake, which I rarely see anywhere, Peanut Butter Cup Pie and Carrot Cake. read more

This place was busy on a Sunday morning, but not too busy. It is an old remodeled Pizza Hut, so don't expect too much in the way of atmosphere. Breakfast was good, and reasonably quick even though they were busy. The breakfast menu is typical. The lunch menu (which we didn't try) looks pretty extensive and sounds great. The only bad spot on this visit was the service. We had a server who didn't really wan to be there, and didn't fill our order correctly -- or seem to care. With better service, this would be a definite 4 star experience. read more

Terrible service in my opinion. Server was very unattentive. When after several issues I asked again for more coffee she stated rudely and with a mean looking expression that she had it just give me a second with her hand and palm to me. I was not having it. The manager said after complaining thank you for letting her know all the while the server denied telling me I dont care what you think which my wife and grandaughter and friend all affirm she said. I emphatically asked for check and server said why would I wait on you now. When I finally went and tried to pay another server the woman said I was rude to servers but was never even being a part of the original conversation. Never going back.
