I have had many handymen services and some really great people so I was expecting someone that would be the same. Sadly I was left with two unfinished projects out of 3. Fredz gets very overwhelmed and flustered with hard work and directions. He also does not want to work past 1 or 2pm. He prefers the bare minimum.. His wife also starts calling when he stays any longer. Fred is talented for general handywork and responds diligently. Now that that's over with, I would not hire him for plumbing. A simple flapper repair (toilet) turned into a minor flood, when a valve started leaking. Being an apartment, the whole building has to be shutoff for the clean up job (two days later). As the leak became worse, Fred packed up. As he was leaving, he made a very acute observation: "You need to call a plumber". My 93 year old Mother was thrilled to hear that piece of wisdom. Fred replaced the caulk in my bathroom, installed a new toilet seat, unclogged a very gross bathroom drain, and reattached a toilet paper roll holder to the wall all in under an hour and a half including a trip to Home Depot. Fred is very friendly and has a lot of experience. We called him for four curtain rod replacement, a TV mount. He came in early and did excellent job in a professional manner. During the process we communicated clearly about our objectives and he explained what he's doing. We had a good time. I actually learnt a lot about how to fix things from him. Since the job took shorter than I thought, I decided we do something extra. This include a fire alarm replacement, a storage room shelf installation and fixing a sliding screen. He completed all of them efficiently, with very satisfactory results. I'm happy with his work and the charge is very reasonable.
