Found a hair in our food, one only one dish but TWO and who knows what else, nobody came up and apologize, and we spoke with the host and she said" well she did take it off" okayyy and we deserved an apology, or a Manager to come up and apologize, this is unacceptable, nobody was wearing a hair net in the kitchen because you could see the kitchen from where we were sitting, We also did wait a while for are food and I get it was a Saturday but to wait for an hour for are food and then there's a hair in it very upsetting and ruined are appetites, we won't be back, and will tell everyone not to go here.

Neatly organized tables that are kept efficiently clean

Very friendly efficient service. Lots of room inside and not busy on weekday breakfast time. Seemed to have several local regulars there: but very accessible for highway traffic. My scrambled eggs were not greasy and cooked exactly the way I like them either a bit of cheese. Lots of hash browns included and sausage patty was decent. Nothing exceptional about the pancakes. Of note: the syrup was served in a slightly warmed olive oil bottle: this worked perfectly and I had never seen this! First time I have experienced syrup without any stickiness or mess. I note that my uncle literally invented the "drip proof" containers used for a bit by Staley's (?) syrup company, which never really worked. Another innovation in the restaurant is the way the condiments are organized on the table. BTW they also sell gourmet olive oils that come in different natural flavors from a small olive farm (overseas) managed by Ann Arborites. I will return next time I travel on I94, mainly to sample their other pancakes and crepes.

The breakfast is just average at best. I even tried the pancakes and nothing crazy. The place is decorated very nice.

If you want corned beef or pastrami, greasy grocery store deli meat just doesn't cut it. Checking Yelp delis. I looked in every direction and decided to drive to East Lansing as my corned beef withdrawal pains were getting worse. Stateside Deli sits in a shopping plaza a few miles southeast from MSU. When we arrived both booths and tables were available just after the lunch rush. Just guessing, i'd say there are between 25-30 tables and booths. Even though I didn't need to, I studied the menu knowing that I would probably only get corned beef or pastrami. The soups however looked great as well. I ordered my corned beef extra lean partially as a test and mostly because that is how I like it. Served on toasted rye, that' is exactly how it came. My first bites were euphoric. It only got better. My wife ordered half a sandwich (tuna melt on wheat) along with matzah ball soup. She loved hers as well. I can tell because both the bowl and plate were empty when she was done. She will often not finish if the food is "just OK" Service was excellent and "seamless". One server saw my drink almost empty and quickly returned with another. Another server asked if we needed anything as she was walking by. Our server also kept checking with us to see if we needed anything or if we were enjoying our lunch. If this is the closest deli, so be it. We will be back as often as practical. Only drawback is the hour drive each way and approximately $28 worth of gas.

The restaurant is conveniently placed right next to a free 2-hour parking lot that had plenty of spaces open at 8:45am. We were promptly seated after walking in and greeted by our server. She brought us soda and coffee and then took our orders. My fiancé asked for a side of bacon to be on the rare side (flopping), but was told that the chef precooks some items, so he probably wouldn't be willing to make a fresh to order side of bacon. Our food came out really quickly, the side of French toast i ordered was delicious and a much larger size than i anticipated. My fiancé, who claims to be a "pancake connoisseur" said his Chocolate chip pancakes were amazing. The bacon fell short of expectations, but overall the meal was excellent. The prices on the menu aren't insane compared to the size and quality of most of the food items. I think a few tweaks to the aesthetics of the restaurant, and more flexibility by the chef would go a long way. Definitely come in if you're hungry, and looking to avoid breaking the bank for a great brunch.

The chicken and waffles appeared as if they had asked a 6 yr old to draw for them what he imagines chicken and waffles should look like. It was literally 3 chicken nuggets sitting on a waffle. The coffee tasted as if it had been wrung out of a sock from the cheapest bean known to man. It tasted like someone went to Colombia and asked them what was the bean they hated the most and then bought it by the pound and brought back to Michigan. The hash browns were not well prepared. The cook obviously never met a seasoning he liked as these potatoes tasted as they were the kind used for boiling and served to prisoners in Dublin circa. the 18th century. I will not be returning to this place and others should beware.
