What a great way to learn a little more about Savannah's history. Michael, our guide, weaved stories together to better understand the history, food and architecture of Savannah's beginnings. The food stops along the way were prepared for our group, and Michael took care of anyone with food allergies. We started at The Public for shrimp & grits then onto SixPence for a drink, then onto Bellfurds for baked oysters, fried green tomatoes and she-crab soup (with delicious bread). The last stop was Savanah's candy store for a taste of pralines and a scoop of ice cream or gelato. It was a well-planned food tour which "foodies" or any visitor would enjoy

When traveling, I find food tours a fun way to explore a city, learn about its history and try local flavors. Subsequently, during a recent trip to Savannah I signed up for the Southern Flavors Savannah food tour. This tour had many different options for days & times for the tour and had relatively small tour group sizes, which is always appealing! Our tour guide, Maddy, was fun and knowledgeable. She share information with us about the history of Savannah and tailored her talk to our interest. She was accommodating and did not rush us at any point, allowing us to sit and socialize at the different establishments. The reason I gave the tour 3 stars is because the food served at some establishments was underwhelming. Some of the bites included shrimp & grits and bruschetta & champagne while at other restaurants we were given a dollop of humus and some tortilla chips. What makes the activity a success is a great tour guide and group of tourists. We were fortunate that Maddy was great and our tour group was awesome! I had a fun time at the Southern Flavors Savannah food tour and would do it again.

My cousins and I did the dessert tour provided by Southern Flavors Savannah and had a great time! 6 dessert stops and each one provided a full dessert serving, so come hungry and pace yourself. Bringing leftovers was highly encouraged. My favorite stop was Paula Dean restaurant serving peach cobbler but the Tondees Tavern cheesecake in mason jar was a close second. Excellent host/owner in Cricket. She was friendly and fun, sharing knowledge, history, and tips along the way.

We took this tour on our last day in Savannah and we should have booked it sooner. Food was a nice mix of different historical sites and mixed with a great mix of flavors. Patrick was our guide and he was a wonderful wealth of knowledge and a nice guy!

Really good tour, highly recommend!!. You walk about a mile total but it feels like so much more because of the amount of different places you go and things you see. The guides are very informative and helpful and it's a good way to explore different restaurants you may not have thought about or known of. Food was really good at each spot and you get a really good portion. I was completely full by the end and I even skipped breakfast!

Be prepared: this tour is not for foodies. The guide delivers interesting historical information but in such a way that doesn't allow for questions about anything. There is no information about the food such as preparation or ingredients; and I'm pretty certain no chefs are involved in the preparation of the food. The servings are uncharacteristically small for a food tour and frankly, not very good. I asked our guide/owner what the criteria was for choosing restaurants for the tour: "they have to be open 7 days a week." The tour was interesting because the other guests were charming, friendly, funny and fun. We did learn a bit about Savannah but most importantly we learned which restaurants to avoid..... the 6 on the tour.

There is a trolly tour that's offered for about $18/pp which takes you around the plantation. Since we arrived late in the day, we opted not to do the trolly tour, but instead, toured the gift shop, sampled all the hot and cold teas (I think there were 12 samples), and took the 15 minute FREE factory tour. The teas? delicious! The tour? Super educational! It was great learning how tea grows, harvested, and processed. Whether you're a tea drinker or not, you will love stopping here. And if you're not in a rush, go sit in a rocker under the trees, or at one of the many picnic tables. Enjoy the fresh air and the sound of the birds. You won't be disappointed!

To get a feel for what they have to offer go into the little store that is on the pathway from the parking lot. Once you are inside, ask any questions that you may have to the person at the register or any personnel there they will happily introduce you to what they have to offer. They have bus tours that you can take to see the tea gardens if desired or just explore on foot. The bus tour will tell you about the different kinds of teas grown there and let you see it close up yourself. The store itself is a fun place to shop with unique gifts and there is also a place to try out some of the different teas that are in dispensers for tasting. The store is stocked with a variety of the teas they produce and popular ones from other major producers as well. I looked at all the different teas for sale and China cups and tea accessories. I ended up buying a tea strainer the kind I couldn't find in my local tea shop among other things. Sip and walk around to explore the store or take your tea outside and sit on the big porch overlooking the Tea Groves, It is very peaceful out there. After I went to the store, I stepped outside and walked across the street to explore the tea groves and look at the huge metal cup and straw and other artwork on the lawn. They are unique. It was a sunny day, so it was perfect for exploring on foot, although I could have probably seen the tea bushes more if I had gotten on the bus tour that they offer various times of the day, but I felt like just walking around and seeing everything. It is a pleasant way to spend a few hours of your day. Especially if you want to take in other places to site see that day. I enjoyed my time there getting outside to get some sunshine and see the tea and get in a little shopping indoors. I spent probably two hours there. It is a good way to relax in nature. I would stop in again when I come back to the area. It is something unique that would be perfect for a person that has a few hours to spend and enjoy a cup of tea.

The whole flight was a good sample. The vodka has an off smell but then finishes very smooth. Don't be afraid of The Carolina reaper as it isn't as spicy as you fear. For example, SoCo has a spicy pepper that is crazy hot. The Jasper'sGin had the strong flavor of juniper as promised. I sensed a bit of ginger and pretended to taste the cinnamon. It's smooth gin that I enjoyed. I did appreciate the Tolerance (aka cinnamon liqueur) but not enough to purchase a bottle for my home. The bourbon tastes like bourbon and the Rye like Rye. In summary, nothing stood out as a 'must have' but everything was enjoyable. It was a good afternoon visit.

Review is based on my experience about a year ago:…read more I wouldn't recommend this tour. Christie was our tour guide, and while she was very nice... she was also visibly impaired from the moment we arrived at the meet-up location. She was unable to walk in a straight line (almost fell into a bush), she was slurring her words, and she continued to drink at each of the 3 bars we went to. Not to mention, there was very little ghost talk, and we instead received a history lesson on Christie and a tour of random buildings along our route (like the fire house). Of the ghost talk we did receive, very little had any factual grounds (like incorrect dates - verified via a quick google search on the spot), and just random tidbits (like some guy who is 6'7" "murdered or raped" a young girl and can sometimes be seen walking in the cemetery). At one point, Christie went on and on about this theatre where she met Woody Harrelson. Ultimately, we first went to a bar for a drink, then walked over to the cemetery, where we received those random tidbits (in total maybe 15 min), went to the next bar, then learned about a girl/ghost in the Inn above the bar, went to the next bar, and then we were finished. Quite frankly, as a group, we had a great laugh about it (and continue/will continue to), but I'm also extremely disappointed with this tour and wish we had chosen another (we passed many other tour groups that looked and sounded more legit). I can honestly say that this one was a waste of money.
