Yoga for EVERYONE. That's what Our Place Yoga means to me and you feel it when you walk in the door. You are always greeted by a sweet smile from somone that feels authentic and really cares about your experience. The vibe is set by this and you can tell that your practice will be an amazing one. The space itself is large and the filtered light from the huge window is so nice. They keep the rest of the lights low and I love that there are plants all around. If I can't do yoga outside (my favorite) then Our Place is a close second. Their calm, easy vibe is the next best thing to being outdoors. I have had classes so far from Erica, Christine and Heather and though their classes all have their own personallity, they are similar in that they guide you through the best possible practice. It is as tough or as gentle as you want it to be and they always remind you of this and bring you back to your breath. Some other things I love: Their sound baths, restorative yoga (OMG, heaven), alignment adjustments, and sometimes singing bowls and mantras. You don't always know what you'll be getting but you know it will be amazing. Weather you can stand on your head and have been practicing yoga for years or you are walking in the door for your very first yoga class ever, you will feel comfortable and held in their space. This is the most welcoming yoga studio I have been to. I've been to a few yoga studios around Orange County and this is the one I feel most comfortable at. The space is open, filled with natural light and beautiful lush green plants. The instructors are great. Heather is so sweet, she is such a great teacher! I love how all the teachers emphasize that there is no judgement or comparison here. I have never felt judged here. The price for a monthly membership is $64 with auto-renewal which is amazing! I am still finishing up by 2 weeks for $20 into offer and I plan to sign up for a monthly membership after! I've taken classes at corepower, purple, sunspark, spectra, and even had a RA membership. the only negative is there are loud dance classes during busy times and maybe parking. Just contact the yoga studio and they know which days Zumba tapdancing is happening and definitely call about parking your first time because that's the only issues I encountered coming here. For 64 dollars, this is an amazing place. Every yoga studio I've been to they are only nice during the trial period, but after that you get the same generic treatment every other studio offers. every teacher takes the time to personally talk to me and they always call you by your first name. It's simple customer service but other yoga studios don't do this. Additionally, they do hands on adjustments and shavasana massages WAY MORE frequently than any other studio I've been to. Again all the other yoga studios I've been to before never did this. Lastly, they have a restorative class that is like a therapy class with affirmations and a light massage throughout, for 15 bucks this feels way more refreshing than a 90 dollar massage. I've never taken a class here that the teachers just went through the motions. In fact most of them light Palo santo and or play the sound bath instruments, which at most studios is usually a separate class that happens once a week. The experience overall is just extremely personable, which no other yoga studio seems to do (if I didn't mention that enough times). read more

I really, really love the vibe here. I've gone to a lot of different studios (shout out to Yoga on the Bluff on Ocean Blvd in Long Beach, heeyyooo!). I've been doing yoga for maybe 8 years, 10 years of pilates before that, dance before that. However, I have a lot of injuries, some of which can be aggravated by arthritis that comes and goes with my autoimmune disease and also after I got hit by a car while I was riding my bike (that's another story...). Vinyasa is what Our Place Yoga specializes in. No, they're not going prompt you to do headstands or any acro (they do a lot of that at Sender One, which I also really love but haven't frequented lately), but you can if you want. They really encourage each participant to develop their own practice. It's not about the IG-perfect pose. There's nothing pretentious going on here. Just some really passionate people who love to do what they do. Highly recommend. read more

I used to do yoga quite frequently a few years ago. After having a baby and just getting busy with life, I lost touch with yoga.. I decided to resume yoga last year but was too tough on myself and ended up straining my neck and shoulder muscles. Fast forward a year later, I decided to resume yoga again and came across our place yoga -- a studio that's super close to my work. I came in very nervous the first day, but Christine, the instructor, kept telling the class to listen to your body and make this practice your own. I listened to her advice and started this journey again. 5 classes later -- I'm an addict, once again. Don't let the price fool you. The instructors here are very good and help you throughout the class. I can feel the positive energy in the room from the moment I walk into the studio. Parking is limited but there is a map right when you walk inside the studio that would tell you where you can find a parking spot on the streets. Before my experience here, I had never been to a yoga class, so coming into Our Place I was definitely a little nervous. I showed up one night, and found out that they hadn't even had their grand opening yet! However, our instructor Julia was kind enough to give us an impromptu class. She started us out with basic moves, and moved onto some harder, more challenging moves. The best part of it was that it was donation-based, and most classes are only $5! $5!!! This place is really great for both beginners and intermediate yoga, the class I went to with Julia offered advanced poses with detailed walk throughs so even a beginner could try them out. I've been practicing for a couple years on my own, and it was my boyfriends first experience with yoga, we both enjoyed the class even though we were on different levels!
