He never took the motor cover off, never disconnected the bottom end of the harness at the board by the motor. That's why he ended up with a harness he couldn't free. He told me directly he didn't want to snake it through the upright. So he cut the console ground wire off the harness instead of disconnecting it. Cut it right off its factory ring terminal. Nobody told me. Not when it happened, not when he finished. I found it myself afterward, and I only caught it because I compared my harness to a photo of the OEM part. The OEM has a crimped ring terminal on that wire. Mine doesn't anymore. This was my second move with this treadmill. Last time it was snaked through intact. Landice publishes a disassembly guide. There's no cutting step in it. When I asked the owner, Joe, to cover the repair, he told me cutting the ground is industry standard, then cursed at me. The technician offered to pay for it himself. Joe barely wanted that to happen and cursed me out for asking to be compensated for the bad job and the labor. An open console ground is a silent fault. The machine powers on and runs fine while the static path to the frame stays broken. You don't find out until a board dies, months later, when nobody connects it back to a move. I have been to other seamstresses who will charge for additional alterations if you are dissatisfied with their service.
