Five-Star Review: Exceptional Service for 7 Years! We have…read morebeen using Barefoot Mosquito & Pest Control for seven years now, and their service remains consistently exceptional. What really sets them apart is their transparency and professionalism. I love receiving the detailed service reports after every visit. They include clear pictures and a thorough explanation from the technician--like Ethan Green today--detailing exactly what areas were treated and which products were used. Whether it's dusting the eaves for wasps or creating a solid barrier around the foundation, they are meticulous and professional. It is rare to find a company that maintains this level of quality for nearly a decade. If you want a pest control team that is reliable and keeps you informed, I highly recommend Barefoot

A first service was scheduled to be rendered 2 days later on Monday, June 8, 2026, between 1-4pm. I called Barefoot Mosquito & Pest Control twice on Monday 26th to confirm this service and ensure my technician, Aubray Rivera, was going to meet me at the residence for service between 1-4pm. I spoke to rep, Cameron, at (972) 391-7834 and to cust serv rep, Kayla, who both confirmed tech, Aubray Rivera, of Barefoot Mosquito & Pest Control was still confirmed to render service, as scheduled and agreed to today. I have all receipts, time stamps, and recordings of these conversations. Unfortunately, as of this writing, it is 4:07pm on Monday, June 8, 2026, and still no word from the Barefoot Mosquito & Pest Control technician...and these guys have my credit card on file...and I took off 4 hours of work today to commit to being present for my service as we agreed and was stood up. Absolutely horrible waste of my time and what a horrible company experience. I'll make sure to document any future communication/service from this point forward to allow other Austin, Texas community members to be aware of my experience. Sovay Reeder

I'm trying to understand why my experience is so different from these 5 star reviews…read more. After talking to a few pest companies, not only did they get the species of ants wrong (acrobat vs carpenter) which affects the bait being used, but they also can't get their story straight. I contacted them about an ant infestation inside my home. The technician who came out placed sugar bait inside to eliminate colony. He told me that an exterior treatment was not necessary at that time. I accepted that recommendation, due to potential exposure for my active dog. Months later, I called to follow up because the ant problem had not been resolved. I was then told the $216.50 treatment of simply adding sugar bait for the interior also included exterior treatment during the original visit. That was surprising because I was never told an exterior treatment had been done. When I asked where it had been applied, they did not give me a clear answer regarding the exterior. Paying for another treatment isn't the issue. If the ants require another visit, I'm happy to pay for it. My concern is that the explanation of what was actually done has changed. Now, they're saying I have to pay another $216 for their services again. Something just isn't adding up. If there's a reasonable explanation, I'd like to hear it. Based on the conflicting information, I have little confidence in their service.

Since starting service, we've noticed a significant reduction in both mosquitoes and flies. Gus is always professional, friendly, and takes the time to answer questions and explain what he's doing. He's reliable, thorough, and genuinely cares about making sure the treatments are effective. Totally worth every penny! It's been nice being able to spend more time outdoors without constantly swatting bugs. If you're looking for someone knowledgeable and dependable for mosquito and fly control, I highly recommend Gus and the team at Bulwark Exterminating.

Normally they send a very last minute notification right before arriving, which is already frustrating and not enough time to prepare, but today there was no notice at all. Our dogs were not put away and suddenly there was a stranger in our backyard unannounced. Thankfully we were home because our dogs could have gotten out or potentially harmed the technician. This was completely unprofessional and honestly unsafe. Customers beware if you value communication, scheduling respect, and basic courtesy before someone enters your property.

We've been happy customers of Stride since June 2018 and can safely say that Stride is a top pest…read morecontrol service in the Austin area. Our favorite part is you can shoot them a quick text with a picture of the problem, and they'll schedule an appointment, all over text! We pay for the regular treatments, but if critters start popping up between the service, they'll come out and re-treat (usually for free) - we cannot recommend Stride enough, if you're on the fence and reading this right now, you won't make the wrong decision to go with Stride. All of the technicians have been stellar, but specifically I wanted to mention Burton - he has come to our house on multiple occasions and is always very polite, informative and thorough. Burton always goes the extra mile to check everything out around the house before he leaves, beyond the areas we've mentioned, and always chats with me on his way out to let me know what was applied, how it was applied, and any follow up steps (an engineer's dream). He even mentioned we should shoot him/Stride a text in 1-2 weeks to let him know if our attic ant issue is resolved. Thank you Burton! Stride really cares about their customers, and they do a killer job. There's a reason they are rated 5.0 stars on Google, Yelp & Facebook, and not 4.9 or lower.

The overall rating of this business is five stars. I decided to scan through the over 160 reviews…read moreand discovered that most of them were written by people with less than 20 reviews to their name. I tend to dismiss those reviews since they don't really have much skin in the Yelp game. There were just two elite reviews and that was a red flag to me as well. Nonetheless, I decided to give this company a chance and got a same day appointment to rid us of our carpenter ant issue. We've had carpenter ants running up and down our garage exterior for a long time and in the last few days we've had flying ants show up in our living room. It was time to bring in the pros. One thing you need to be aware of is that you can schedule an appointment for this service, but like most pest control companies, they will insist on a quarterly service agreement on top of the initial service. Our initial service cost was $134 which included a $75 discount that came with a $53 monthly payment for each quarterly visit. That comes to over $700 a year ( not including termite issue) for the basic service which does not apply to fire ants. Since I accepted the discounted initial service I had to sign up for a years worth of service before I had the option to cancel. That's something you need to keep in mind because that's a lot of money just to snuff out a few ants. The one and done service doesn't really pay the bills, it's the subscription service that drives the business. My same day appointment was scheduled between noon and three, they ( tech +trainee) showed up shortly after two. I let the tech know about the ant issue and we walked around the perimeter of the property while he swept away wasp nests. Inside he sprayed some powder in the upstairs attic while looking for any possible rodent infestation. The tech did spot some termite activity at the corner of the garage. After spraying the perimeter and infected areas with poison, he then treated the yard with ant bait that looked like Andro. We decided against spraying chemicals indoors due to sensitivities. The discovery of termites greatly added to the bill as pictured below. I'll go ahead and get the termite service and the quarterly check up during the contract period. I thought I would include all the bills and pertinent information so that you can get some idea of what you might experience. One thing that did catch me off guard was that after they left, I received a brief survey which then led me to a tip screen for the tech. It's not that he didn't deserve a tip, it was just the first time I had seen this form of online solicitation. Overall great experience with knowledgeable and friendly techs, not real happy about being funneled into a monthly payment plan for quarterly visits, but we'll see where that leads. Check out the photos. Possible updates may follow.....perhaps leading to a 5th star.

Avoid this horrible company! 2-weeks turnaround time from the time you make a request to the time…read morethey get their incompetent service managers to respond to a request for quotes. It will take another week to get anyone onsite, and the tech they send will most likely have no clue as to what is going on or why they are there. I submitted a list provided by my home inspector after purchasing a new home. After 2-weeks, they finally sent a technician out and he had no idea what list I was talking about. When I handed him the inspection report, he had the nerve to ask me to "type out what I needed in a spreadsheet and send it to him". Isn't that his job and the job of the service manager to know what the job consist of, what the costs will be, and what they are going to charge BEFORE they send a technician? After dealing with 6-7 different dispatchers, service managers, and technicians, the only competent people I dealt with were Kristen and Caleb. I feel bad for them, as they are caring, thorough and competent. They are stuck dealing with all the other representatives that don't. I would steer clear of this company unless you have 3-4 weeks to waste waiting for someone who knows what they're doing to assist you. Horrible, unsustainable business model ABC has in place. I wouldn't be surprised if this company goes under in the very near future. Sad.
