After several estimates we chose Freedom Pools to service our pool at our new home. The pool was in dire need of serious attention after several weeks unattended. Drew was a true professional and honest. He quoted us very fairly. In fact, he made sure we did not spend beyond what was necessary. Rather than buying a whole new sweeper, he had it repaired saving us more than $300. He also provided proposals for other optional repairs and upgrades we should consider in the near future for a more optimal and cost effective system. Drew and Allen installed a high-efficiency filter pump, new plumbing with electronically controlled valves plus iAqualink to control filter, spa, solar, cleaner and heater using my iPhone. After a bit of tweeking, everything now works perfectly. They were punctual and efficient; they're good workers and communicators. Set appointment for estimate with owner (Drew). Alex from Freedom came out this morning, inspected pool, then met with my wife and I to provide input and estimate for recurring pool service, which is/was $150.00. While this was somewhat higher than previous service, we told him that based on his approach and Yelp review, we agreed. He also told us that spa "refill" rubber grommet needed to be replace...everything else was "fine". Said he would email formal agreement. When agreement was received, service price had been raised to $160.00 and separate agreement was for two parts, one of which had not been addressed with us by Alex, and, service charged had been now increased to $169.00. I called owner Drew, explained my disappointment with arbitrary changes/additions following Alex's commitments to my wife and me. He called back saying he'd talked with Alex who said we "must have misunderstood". NOT. I'm an experienced corporate exec, believe in "straight shooting", and respect those businesses that operate in that fashion as well. This truly was not our experience with Freedom. We'll find another service to do business with re: servicing our pool. read more

My pump motor had burned out, and Alan came by for a consultation to replace my old single-speed setup, and provided an estimate that was actually the best of the three vendors I reached out to. Drew helped me out through some homeowner's insurance processes, and when I decided to start work, I knew I wanted to go with Freedom. Alan came by and installed my new variable speed pump, board, and finished in only a few hours. He then helped me get set up with the new WiFi app-enabled technology for my new board, and answered a few random questions I had for my setup. The heater for our pool was making funny sounds so we had South Bay Water Tech check it and tell us what the problem was. They said we needed a new heater (for roughly $3K). After reading great reviews of Freedom Pools, I decided to ask them to do the installation for the new heater (we didn't have the best experience with South Bay Water Tech). Scheduling the installation was quick and easy. Today was installation day and Alan showed up right on time with the new heater. He took a look at our current heater and after getting more information on what has happened with it and what the other pool company found, he came to the conclusion that we needed a new part for our current heater instead of installing a brand new one. It took him about 30 minutes to install the new part and test the system. With the labor charge, we only paid $173 total to fix our heater (instead of $2,900 for a new one). We are SO happy that Alan took the time to look at our system to save that extra money. Freedom Pools is a truly wonderful business. They take the time to do things right and find the best solution for your actual pool, not just the solution that yields them the most money. After our experience, we will always be coming back to Freedom Pools. Don't call another pool place, call Freedom Pools. I called them to come and clean the filter and check the sweeper because it didn't work. Raul came on time, checked the filter as well as the whole system and did a fantastic job on replacing the pumps and old filter. The next day I noticed that the sweeper is not working ,so I called them again and they sent a technician to check. Problem was solved before I know. read more

My pool was black as tar. The county came out and said dude, you need to clean your pool or we will shut your house down...whatever that means. We had a pirate party with a plank running across the pool that you had to cross to get to the bar. Anyways I found Freedom pools off google and called them. Within the day, I met Drew and he was super chill within two weeks my pool went from black to crystal clear. I found Freedom Pool Services last year when my fairly new Ecostar system failed. They were extremely helpful and their service was stellar. Drew was able to get the manufacturer to honor my warranty which had recently expired. Two weeks ago, my pool sweep booster pump failed after many, many years. Once again, I called Freedom Pools and once again Drew was extremely helpful and their service tech (Alex) was exceptional; ordered a new pump and it was installed within a matter of a few days. They are true to their arrival times and always call a few minutes prior to arriving. As for pricing, while all businesses are competitive, I found Freedom to be significantly lower as well. I needed someone to come out quickly after I returned, but every other pool company I called had a lead time of 5 days, at least.This is understandable in the middle of summer, but when I called Freedom Pool Svcs., Drew agreed to send a guy out the very next day. He gave me a great deal on a new Pentair variable speed pump + install, and brought all materials needed to get the job done from just a picture I sent of my equipment. Alen showed up mid-morning, was very knowledgeable & professional, and closed the gate every time he went to his truck so my bunny & dogs wouldn't escape. He was very good with my dogs also, which is always a plus. Alen was done within a couple hours and taught me how to program & use my new pump, and now my pool is sparkling and cleaner than it has ever been, I can't praise them enough for helping me in a pinch and doing a fantastic job at a great price! read more

I would give more than 5 stars for Allen from Freedom Pool. My pool pump wasn't working after an electrician came to install an electrical charger in my garage. Allen came over to give me an estimate for a new pool pump, and he discovered that there wasn't enough electricity for the pool pump even though the previous electrician had said everything was fine and that the pool pump was too old and no longer working. He trouble-shooted for the previous electricians work in the switch breaker. Two electricians and my pool guy had previously checked out the issue and couldn't figure out what's wrong but pointed fingers to each other. Allen is knowledgable, patient, nice and friendly. Finally he figured out the previous electrician's mistake that no other electrician could figure out. He saved me a lot of headache and potentially thousands of dollars for the electrical work. My old pool pump still works after he fixed my electrical problem. I highly recommend Freedom Pool! read more

Had a tree fall on my pool equipment pad and make a mess of the pumps, actuators and all the plumbing. Had the company who constructed my pool and install all the equipment come out and assess the damage and give me an estimate. It took a week and a half for that to happen. I needed a quicker solution so contacted Freedom Pools. Alex was able to come out 2 days after contacting them, gave me an estimate the next day and was able to start 2 day later. Freedom's cost to repair everything and get the pool back up and running was 1/4 of the estimate the company who installed my pool (who included extraordinary markups on pumps, said I needed new pumps which just parts needed to be repaired). After Freedom got things running, there was a glitch with the spa. I contacted Freedom and Alex was back out within an hour, made the adjustment and all is well. I was Drew's first customer when he started Freedom Pools. I called him out to fix a circulation valve that was leaking. He told me the valves were hard to get and expensive. He was able to replace an o-ring that allowed me to keep the same valve and it ended up being an inexpensive fix. He made some recommendations on a replacement for my 20 year old filter/pump system that I knew was on it's last leg but said as long as it's running OK no need to replace it. I got another 3 + years out of it before the motor started shorting and the filter showed signs of leaking. I called Drew back out and he dialed me in to a new Pentair system with Intellitouch controller. He spec'd the system ordered the parts and did the install within a week. Everything arrived on time, did the installation when he promised and did a clean professional install. He even fixed a fountain (separate from the original scope of work) and did some dry wall work around the new control panel. He's a guy you can trust to give you an honest bid without jacking up the price or selling you something you don't need. I recommend him to my friends. read more

Freedom pools does excellent work! I hired them to swap out my old single speed pump / control system for a brand new, Pentair variable speed pump / web-based control system. The entire process literally took 1 week + 1 day from initial contact to job completion (1/25/16 to 2/2/16). Initial call to Drew was on a Monday and got same day response for the initial visit and quotation by Alen. I sat on the information for about 4 days comparing options and their competitors and found their proposal to be superior to all from a price and experience perspective. So I decided to pull the trigger and I couldn't be happier ! Alen did a real professional AND clean job installing the new set up, which was very complicated. He even waited for me to get home from work in order to give me a tutorial on how the system works; from manual operation to computer / iPhone operation. This Pentair variable speed pump is awesome and I can instantly see the energy savings I'm about to enjoy; the web interface actually shows you how much energy it's consuming. These systems need real professionals for the installation though...and Freedom Pools fit that bill perfectly for me. read more

I always wanted to take care of my own pool, and made valiant efforts over the years. I would then travel and forget and then all of a sudden I had algae ugly green pool and it would cost me hundreds of dollars and hours of my life to fix it and get the kids swimming again. Freedom started helping me out advising me and taking over the monthly service a few years back. Always have done an amazing job, saving me a lot of money and tons of time! The reason I post now is they recently upgraded my system with full automation for my hot tub, waterfalls, lighting, and pool sweep. It is an incredible application that allows full control for my pool and lighting. They came in and did a beautiful job on what turned out to be a lot of work. My pool is now more energy efficient, functional, and looks beautiful. Most importantly we are using it all the time and the kids are having a blast.
