An very old SPA heater cannot start. Called Drew who serviced this heater long time ago. His staff Alan came over to take a look. Alan was very professional and friendly for any questions. Took him 15 min or so after some check-up and cleaning, the heater was again burning. The fix wasn't very difficult as he explained the reason for no ignition. But it does need to know how the heater circuit works. The price was reasonable as well. I will find them again in future if needed. read more

Alan is an awesome guy. He fully understands all aspects of pool pumps and pool filtration. He installed a special valve that senses when the solar is hot enough and turns it on automatically for us. We contacted Freedom Pool Services and several other pool services in February to get our hot tub working again and Freedom Pool answered immediately and then came out the next day after I talked with Drew. They found out why our hot tub was not performing as expected, cleaned the clogged lines, and recommended a better and more efficient pump. Freedom Pool Services is just fantastic! They have been very professional and fair throughout the process of upgrading the pump and heater for my pool, including the installation of the iaqualink intelligent system. I had several people come and quote the job, but Freedom was by far the best. I appreciated the information that I needed to have PG&E upgrade my meter to 400,000 BTU so that the heater was getting enough power since I have a 400,000 BTU heater. Also, the warranty is void if the meter doesn't match or exceed the BTU requirements of the heater. No one else told me that. PG&E upgraded the meter for free and now the system works much better. The job was done quickly and for a fair price. All of the people with whom I have interacted were very knowledgeable and professional. The work was emaculate and they cleaned everything up before they left. I am very pleased with their service and will use them again. Wow-I really don't understand how this company gets good reviews- STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY UNLESS YOU WANT TO WASTE YOUR TIME! My pool(s) at Seven Springs HOA in Cupertino were fine until these clowns took over-Both the Family pool & the Lap pool were always Green with Green Algea on the walls - THEN IT TURNED TO BLACK ALGEA ALL OVER THE LAP POOL! They Rarely Vaccumed, and simply poured chemicals into the water with people IN IT! Our Wading Pool was CONSTANTLY GETTING CLOSED by the County and was ALWAYS causing problems for the kids with their skin! I resorted to speaking to the other home owners about this and then we took our complaints to the HOA. Spa was always greenish / Murky and the kids were getting rashes..When I talked to HOA MGMT CO. about it they said DREW just made excuses...Finally after the other Pool ALSO got Black Algea-They Fired em!! A new pool Company PROFESSIONAL POOL came in and in 2 weeks FLAT everything was back to normal..Black algea gone, Heaters working again, Water doesn't make you itch..I mean really it is like Night & Day different! Maybe this guy can handle backyard pools-But keep him away from your Commercial Facility - UNLESS you want drama and Lousy Results! Jenna. read more

Over the past 2 years I have remodeled my house and dealt with numerous tradespeople/contractors. I feel I am pretty qualified to say who deserves thumbs up, and who shouldn't even stay in business. My 'thumbs up' list of people I have dealt with over the past few years is incredibly short, but Drew is definitely one of them. I have been using Freedom Pools (Drew) for nearly the last 6 months, for weekly service. Drew has been incredibly helpful and accommodating with everything. I had some specific requirements when it came to a service day/time, however it was not a problem for Drew to accommodate this (not easy to come by someone willing to do this). Drew is also very down to earth and honest and has even come out to check something for me, and didn't charge me for the call out (I should qualify that he lives very close to me). He provides honest advice, and doesn't try to sell you on something unnecessarily... amazing! The only downside would be that my pool is not vacuumed every week so sometimes it would still look a little dirty after the 'clean' (only really an issue in summer). I think its dirt that's not picked up by scooping alone. But really, that is the only thing I could find to fault them on, and perhaps this is common (I don't recall is this happened with my previous pool guys).... Just so you know this is an honest review :) Definitely recommend giving Drew a call for your pool needs - thumbs up! read more

They also were extremely communicative. They were honest about the work that needed to be done and did not try to up-sell or charge hidden fees. After a windy and wet winter, my pool was in bad shape. The stains from the constant falling of leaves from my neighbors yards were really bad. They came out as scheduled and did a chlorine bath followed up by a acid wash in the really bad areas. It's an older pool, but it looks really good now.
