I think Freed's cake shop in Summerlin is the best cake spot in the area. I went there and a few other places in town to try to find a fresh cake and unfortunately could not find any. So I returned for one slice of carrot cake to celebrate a friends birthday and it was good enough. They have a huge selection of premade slices anywhere from $5.95 to $7.95 which I think is a fair price cause if you go to a restaurant, you will pay $12 to $15 for a slice of cake. What I love is that everything looks fresh and tastes fresh. Every slice is well decorated and if you wanna try different kinds of cake, you can! Recently for Mother's Day I bought five different slices of cake and it was a hit because everyone wanted to try just a bite. Overall, I think Freed's is my number one choice for fresh cakes and if you give them two days in advance notice, they will make you one in time for your special occasion. Great cookies, cakes, cup cakes, and cake slices. It's a small bakery but does offer a few great desserts. My girl loves their buttercream vanilla cupcakes. She has a few special made without confetti and they're happy to put them aside for us. Just call and request whatever you'd like and advise when you'll be by to pick them up. Staff were extremely nice and friendly, happy to explain their menu and make recommendations. They said they're known for their strawberry whipped cream cakes, and their buttercream cakes is European buttercream, less sweet than American buttercream - didn't know there was a difference but now I know why I enjoy European style (or typically Asian - also lighter) more! We thoroughly enjoyed all we tried, and I don't usually like cake! All moist and flavorful, tasted authentic and pure. Brown Derby - chocolate cake, strawberries, whipped cream. Chocolate was pretty cocoa-y which I appreciated and all very fresh and light. Carrot Cake - carrot, pecans, cream cheese icing, walnuts (no raisins). Moist, not heavy Tiramisu Cake - white sponge cake, espresso and brandy, mascarpone cream, espresso whipped cream. We especially loved this, surprisingly very coffee flavored. My aunt ordered a custom butter cream cake for my daughter's "Disco Cowgirl" birthday party. She also ordered two dozen hot pink cupcakes. We wanted my daughter's cake to look exactly like the Inspo picture, but we weren't sure if it would. The rep who put in the order accidentally put my daughter's name Bayles on the order number, so when my aunt called last minute to confirm? She thought the order never went through for pick-up, because it wasn't showing up in the system. Customer Service was quick to fix the confusion. Long story short: Freed's Bakery nailed it! The cake looked identical to the picture and it also tasted amazing. The cactuses were also made out of icing, like we requested. I honestly couldn't stop eating the cake, because it was so good. Friendly staff, quick , easy and efficient. I've ordered a few cakes from Freed's before at their Henderson location. Was in a pinch and came by to grab some birthday cupcakes for work. They had their usual cakes cookies and some of their standard cakes (like red velvet ) available. This is a pick and go spot. I got the 4 pack cupcakes for $14.99. Ambiance is clean and spacious.
