Swung by for a small birthday cake and saw they had SO MANY different delicious flavors available. Getting a few slices to try ended up being perfect. Staff were extremely nice and friendly, happy to explain their menu and make recommendations. They said they're known for their strawberry whipped cream cakes, and their buttercream cakes is European buttercream, less sweet than American buttercream - didn't know there was a difference but now I know why I enjoy European style (or typically Asian - also lighter) more! We thoroughly enjoyed all we tried, and I don't usually like cake! All moist and flavorful, tasted authentic and pure. Brown Derby - chocolate cake, strawberries, whipped cream. Chocolate was pretty cocoa-y which I appreciated and all very fresh and light. Carrot Cake - carrot, pecans, cream cheese icing, walnuts (no raisins). Moist, not heavy Tiramisu Cake - white sponge cake, espresso and brandy, mascarpone cream, espresso whipped cream. We especially loved this, surprisingly very coffee flavored. For something labeled "strawberry shortcake," the strawberry content was almost nonexistent. This single slice cost over $7. For that price, I expected something worthy of the name -- not a token garnish and a hidden berry. This wasn't just underwhelming -- it was embarrassing. My aunt ordered a custom butter cream cake for my daughter's "Disco Cowgirl" birthday party. She also ordered two dozen hot pink cupcakes. We wanted my daughter's cake to look exactly like the Inspo picture, but we weren't sure if it would. The rep who put in the order accidentally put my daughter's name Bayles on the order number, so when my aunt called last minute to confirm? She thought the order never went through for pick-up, because it wasn't showing up in the system. Customer Service was quick to fix the confusion. Long story short: Freed's Bakery nailed it! The cake looked identical to the picture and it also tasted amazing. The cactuses were also made out of icing, like we requested. I honestly couldn't stop eating the cake, because it was so good. Friendly staff, quick , easy and efficient. I've ordered a few cakes from Freed's before at their Henderson location. Was in a pinch and came by to grab some birthday cupcakes for work. They had their usual cakes cookies and some of their standard cakes (like red velvet ) available. This is a pick and go spot. I got the 4 pack cupcakes for $14.99. Ambiance is clean and spacious. My husband just walked in and got this from their selection of cakes. Luckily it was the last one left! It can be pre-ordered. Their service was good and they secured the cake in a nice box.
