I've stayed in dozens of NYC hotels and most of the time I think "not bad - I'd stay there again." Freehand is one of those rare exceptions; I would not stay there again. You know that famous line from Clueless when Cher describes Amber as a "full-on Monet" ("It's like a painting, see? From far away, it's OK, but up close, it's a big old mess")? Staying at Freehand was like that. It looks like it'd be cool but then it was just kind of a mess. I spent one night at Freehand this past weekend, when my husband and I took the train up to see a couple of shows. Overall, it was just a bad stay. Here's why: 1. Room not in great condition: flickering light in bathroom, air conditioning unit not working (kept getting an error message when we tried to turn it on), water in shower got warm but not hot even when at the furthest I could turn the handle, the towels had frayed edges and were clearly old. 2. Room not nice or well-thought out. Sure, the furniture has that coolest dorm room ever look about it that is trendy in hotel rooms right now (I swear my dorms all had those veneer wood desks with rounded edges that are everywhere right now), but the toilet paper roll is about 3 feet from the toilet. Yao Ming couldn't reach it. Pretty hard to get into the bed since it's pushed into a nook where you can only access one side (the end and the other side touch walls) - I had to crawl over my husband to get out of the bed. The shower curtain wasn't long enough or wide enough: water was everywhere since the curtain wasn't even the dimensions it should have been. 3. Room not that clean. There was a long hair on the bed (noticeable since the bedspread is white) and a clump of hair on the shower wall that must have been missed by housekeeping. Housekeeping also started knocking around 9am. I can see why - it's not the kind of place that's relaxing enough that you'd want to laze about in the room in the morning anyway. 4. Customer service at front desk very inconsistent. Guy who checked us in? Acted like we were ruining his day (certainly, we interrupted his conversation, which must have been frustrating). I have to exclude the baggage porter and the front desk staff who helped us check out the next morning from this - they were great. 5. Either the rooms are not as advertised on hotels.com or we paid for premium room but didn't get it. I had paid a little extra for a premium queen room when making the reservation to get a room large enough that you could walk around the bed rather than only being able to get in on one side. When we checked in very late (we had dropped our bags off earlier in the day but our room wasn't ready), we got a room that looked like nothing what I had booked - tiny, with a bed accessible only on one side. Not sure if they downgraded us or if their pictures are misleading. 6. It was loud and the walls were thin. I used my white noise app to go to sleep because the walls were so thin I could hear the conversation next door at 1am and we could hear/feel the bass of clubby music at least that late, too. I know it's NYC, but this hotel lacks insulation to deaden sound that would make it a relaxing place to stay. (We were on the fourth floor.) The location is fine - close to 6 and R/W, Madison Square Park, and plenty of places to eat, drink, and shop. The building has tons of vintage charm (loved the wood walls in the lobby, for example). But I wouldn't stay here again. One of the worst hotels I've stayed at in the city. There are much better options in the same price range. read more

The Child was pretty fabulous. Great location. Something for everyone. Great Breakfast. Café in the lobby are pretty good rooftop. My friend and I were pretty loud and obnoxious one night and no one bothered us. The windows that look out of the street are so New York. It was just wonderful to sit there in the mornings. I am giving this hotel a 3 star because of its convoluted reservation system. the hotel itself is lovely and in a very central and safe location. great roof top bar. very clean and modernized Older building with character. now the tough part. reservations must be made through a third party service who collects your payment in advance. if you contact the hotel about your reservation, they refer you to this third party service. no ownership. I suspect, but do not know for sure,that this third party service buries a fee in the reservation. further, there is a " facility fee" that is collected by the hotel once you check in. i was not advised of this. but their hand is in your pocket. call me a country boy, but all of this seems less that straightforward. Overall would not recommend. It was in a good location for an affordable price, but next time we visit we're willing to splurge for more comfortable accommodations. Cons - Our AC was not working at all. We thought it wasn't going to be a big deal the first night but the room got hot quickly despite it raining outside. Called front desk the next day, staff was unable to fix it and didn't offer to move us to a different open room. They got a portable window AC installed that look like they got it straight from basement storage, the unit itself and the filter were dirty. - The outside noise was much louder since we had to have the window open for the portable AC. Thought it was bearable the first day, but over the weekend we couldn't fall asleep. - The mattress and pillow were extremely uncomfortable. On the first night the pillows hurt my bf's neck so bad he opted for no pillows at all the rest of our stay. The mattress is super springy. Sheets also dry and scratchy. All on all, after a tiring day out you just want to get to bed and rest. But nope, this hotel will keep you up all night feeling uncomfortable. - The cable TV channels weren't even synced correctly. You'd choose "Disney Channel" and it'd be some random cooking show. - We ordered delivery food to the hotel. Not sure if this was on the driver or front desk staff, but instead of keeping the food at the desk/hidden somewhere, the food was directly across the front desk (so obviously the staff saw it) but just sitting openly on a waiting chair. Weird. Pros - I liked the bathroom although it was small and didn't have counter space. Freehand NYC is certainly an experience, but unfortunately not the most welcoming one. The only consistently kind and professional individuals I encountered were the bellhops, who were attentive and helpful. Beyond that, customer service fell flat--I was met with snarky, borderline rude attitudes from multiple front desk staff members. After a long day of travel, this kind of cold reception is the last thing anyone wants. It wasn't just a one-off; three different employees had an air of unfriendliness, and I even overheard someone gossiping about a colleague who had arrived late--not exactly professional or comforting. The entire check-in experience felt more like an inconvenience to the staff than hospitality. The hotel itself is... quirky. The rooms are definitely on the small side, likely a remnant of the building's past life as a dormitory. It also just doesn't feel.....clean. Also, if you're looking for peace and quiet, note that this place is lively 24/7--the lobby is constantly buzzing with people. That said, Broken Shaker, the rooftop bar, was a highlight. The staff there was warm and engaging, the music was on point, and the vibe was much more enjoyable. I'll post a separate review just for them because they deserve it. Overall, the vibe at Freehand NYC is odd, and not in a charming, boutique-y way. Where do I start... Let's start with the good: The employees were friendly. The room was clean. The building was relatively close to a lot of stuff. Now that we've gotten that out of the way, we can get on to the bad: When I arrived they told me that the only available room would be a room with four twin bunk beds. I could deal with this if that was the only issue. When I booked through my employer's booking system, it said that my employer would pay and that it would be prepaid, when I arrived, they told me I had to pay hundreds of dollars for the room. But I was over a barrel, so I paid it(and thankfully, was reimbursed by my employer a few weeks later). I got to the room, and the temperature of the room was freezing cold. And the thermostat in the room had no effect on the temperature. I changed the mode of the thermostat from "cool" to "heat", and set the temperature higher, and the room never warmed up at all. The room was freezing cold for my whole trip. The shower curtain looked like it had been hung by someone who had never seen a shower curtain before. There were far fewer hooks than holes for the hooks to go, and some of the hooks were in those holes but were not even on the shower curtain rod. The room was small. I cannot overstate how small this room was. My home is about 700 square feet, and I have no doubt that my living room is easily five times the size of this room. And I'm about six feet tall. These beds were so short that I had to sleep with my knees bent. On my last evening there, I bought some food to take with me on the plane the next day, and I put it in the refrigerator to grab when I checked out. The next morning, when I went to get it, it was warm. Look, I suppose if the thermostat had worked and the refrigerator had worked, and if the billing had been handles correctly, I could have forgiven the short beds and the weird shower curtain setup. Some people are short, and sometimes for business travel it makes sense to have a quad room. But when taken all together, I really hated staying in this hotel. I've stayed in many hotels in Manhattan before, and although this one did have a fairly good location as far as accessibility, I wanted to leave from the day I got there. read more

I was part of the board and so I did have some familiarity with how things went with the logistics behind the event. Hygiene & safety concern; Intimidation, rude and confrontational behaviour by staff; very stressful experience for a woman travelling solo. I paid for four nights. I made a reasonable hygiene request. What I received was dismissal, sustained intimidation, an implied physical threat, obstruction of a legitimate complaints process, and threat of removal from the premises in the middle of the night -- twice. No woman travelling alone should experience this. No guest of any kind should experience this. The full context - At the end of a really long, tiring day of business meetings, I returned to my room after dinner, and found a medium sized bug on my bed. The room was not the cleanest, and the sheets were torn in a place - this I had ignored for 4 days. But I couldn't bring myself to sleep in a bed with insect(s?) in it. I made a simple, reasonable request: please change my sheets. What followed was one of the most distressing experiences I have ever had as a hotel guest. This is the not so worrisome part - First, a member of staff came and handed me the sheets and asked me to do it myself. When requested that someone help me with it, two staff members arrived. Rather than addressing a straightforward hygiene failure, i.e., changing the sheets, one spent several minutes deflecting with irrelevant & condescending remarks - "this is New York," "I tell my daughter that the bug is more scared of you". I continue to repeat my request. Then he finds a bug on the wall, his colleague kills it, and he tries to convince me that's the one. Well how can I know for sure. I continue to state that this is irrelevant and the ask is to change the sheets . By this time, he has started speaking over me. Here's where it really got stressful - Now having still not changed the sheets, he asks for me to pack my bags and leave. On a game week in NYC and with the FIFA world cup in a few days, when all the hotels are booked and its already ~10 pm, there is nowhere to go. He said he would put me up somewhere - but I cannot leave until I know where I will stay the night and whether it will be safe. He and his colleague turn their back and start walking away. I call after them to tell me what the new hotel would be. To this he turns around and yells - I am going to get someone to calm you down. As a solo woman traveller, that statement was frightening - what did that mean? Was he going to get someone to physically force me out, or to intimidate me further or to argue more forcefully? They returned with a woman, who was mostly quiet, but asked them to get the sheets changed. I requested an incident report and process to file a formal complaint. She gave me the visiting card of the assistant front desk manager. When I challenged that he was not the right authority and that I needed to speak to the hotel manager, she said this is all she can do for me. And the intimidation got worse in the early hours of the morning - At checkout the next morning (3:30am), when I asked for an incident report, the same staff member appeared from behind the desk. I was not given an incidence report or a contact of senior management. He defaulted to the same tactic of deflecting with condescending & aggressive verbal comments, but even worse this time - he told me I was "rude, disrespectful, disingenuous, and a liar." I said I would like to wait in silence in the lobby until my cab arrived. And he then very aggressively asked me to get off his property - he physically came out from behind the front desk and started walking towards me, while yelling. It was 3:30am and I was evaluating whether it was safer to wait for my cab on the desolate street or in the lobby with this aggressive man. He also asked another person behind the desk to call someone to force me out. But before this escalated further, my cab thankfully arrived. He was the most senior person on duty, and that every member of staff I had interacted with reported directly to him. There was no neutral path seek help. read more

I would book again. The hotel room was clean and the hotel itself was well managed. They had a 24/7 front desk. The hotel had an adjoining restaurant, rooftop bar, and cafe. The hotel was located near a number of popular New York hotspots. We were able to take the train to all destinations no difficulty. The loudness level was good. We hardly heard any city noise which I'm sure would happen if we booked a place near Times Square. The A/C did not work properly. The room never cooled down in the five days we were there and we kept getting an error message saying the filter needed to be changed. We got lucky since the weather was 40-50F. However, the room was constantly at 76 and I imagine in the summer that would not be comfortable. read more

I'd say the Freehand Hotel NYC isn't the best choice for families--more like a place for a party crowd with good drinks. It's a bit of a mixed experience. The guest services could definitely use some improvement, with staff often coming off as rude or just short-handed. Honestly, it felt like the staff treated you more like a club-goer than a hotel guest, almost like they were acting as bouncers instead of providing hospitality. There were moments when I felt more like I was at a bar or nightclub rather than a hotel, especially considering the lively atmosphere Thursday to Sunday. The rooms are on the smaller side, and the refrigerators are barely big enough for a couple of cans of soda. I couldn't find an ice machine anywhere either, which was a bit frustrating. Also, the hallways could use more lighting-- barely can see your door lol. I don't know who thought that was a good idea for a hotel. There's a lot of emphasis on when things are closing hours ahead of time and getting out of areas with staff reminding you about it well ahead of time.... On the plus side, the decor is super cool, with a retro vibe that's actually pretty fun. The bars make great drinks, like they are prefect! The space itself is stylish, and the mezzanine is a nice chill spot. The rooftop bar is definitely a highlight with a beautiful view. Overall, it's a good place if you're looking for a party atmosphere, but it's not ideal for those seeking a more relaxing or family-friendly vibe. Or if you want to be treated well as a paying guest. I wouldn't stay here again or ever recommend it. It's not that it is old with thin walls. Like you expect that from established buildings. The bathroom is very tiny with shower curtains that are more of a suggestion and don't actually keep water from getting out of the shower. The rooms are small. The way the bunk bed ladder is attached to the wall makes it difficult to get up to it. the mini fridge can barely hold a standard water bottle. The curtains don't completely cover the windows. But the greatest sin is that the heat in my room was broken, and a space heater was left on carpeting as the alternative. When I called the front desk, maintenance was sent up (a very kind, older man) who couldn't help and said the front desk would call me. I called again to ask for another room or two swap and was denied. I asked multiple times, but the front desk attendants were no help and even said the space heater should be enough. (I was afraid to leave it plugged in overnight or when I'd go out, since it was on carpet, so I froze both days.) read more

The staff was courteous and the location is convenient, but unfortunately I cannot recommend this hotel due to serious cleanliness issues. The rooms are extremely small, but the real problem was the bedding. I discovered hair underneath the sheets, which I only noticed after seeing multiple stains on them. When I requested fresh sheets, they too were visibly soiled, making it impossible to get a clean set of bedding. The situation was concerning enough that I ended up changing hotels after one night. While this might work as a last resort for travelers on a very tight budget, I cannot in good conscience recommend staying here given the hygiene concerns. Not surprised to see reviews on Freehand are so low. This place is a scam. Tiny rooms that are worn out, uncomfortable and loud beds, our bathroom door didn't close, temp in room was set to 68, but never got below 74. Only 2 barely working and tiny elevators for 18 floors. Maybe they should use the $30/night "facility" fee to update the facilities. Oh, and my favorite is that the manager claimed it's a "green" hotel so they refuse to hand out water to guests and instead make you wait in a line to use ONE water fountain that is so slow it takes 2 minutes to fill one water bottle. I had to wait 10 minutes one night since there were 6 people ahead of me. AND the real topper- the "green" hotel uses plastic cups at the "green" water fountain. Tiny little rooms with no natural light (our room window faced a wall). Only two lamps, both with yellow bulbs - I was getting ready for a wedding and couldn't see a thing! One shelf which was slanted so nothing could be placed on it. Tiny bathroom, with a sink so tiny that the floor flooded when washing your face. No dresser - no place to put your clothes! No coffee machine, no ice machine in entire bldg. Bed pushed up against the wall and you had to crawl in from the front. $400 a night should get you much more than this... go anywhere else... very disappointed... read more

My friends and I each split rooms and were placed next to each other. The walls are very thin and we could hear each other talking. The lights in our rooms were also flickering. The sheets of the bed and pillows felt disgusting. It felt like paper. It has that crunchy, dried feeling when you wash your clothes and leave it out in the sun to dry. Very uncomfortable and questionable. The AC did not work and because the room is small, it quickly became very humid and we happened to be staying during 80° weather. In order to get some air, we were left with no choice but to open the window, but given it's NY, it was EXTREMELY loud to continue keeping the window open. It was SO difficult to sleep at night. I figured there would be no point in calling maintenance since it was late at night already, we were leaving the next morning, and because I doubt it would be fixed immediately. Once I checked out and told them about my experience, they adjusted the bill. I asked for an itemized bill to be sent to my email, gave it to them, told me it would be sent to me right away, and then left. A few hours later (I'm already at JFK at this point), someone called me to ask if I checked out because there was a note that said my belongings were still there... I had everything of mine with me... Disorganized much? I asked them again, since I was on the phone with them, for my itemized bill to be emailed to me again since I didn't receive it. They told me they were never given an email. I definitely gave it to them and my friend was standing next to me, hearing me give it to them. I don't understand the lack of communication and the disorganization. Don't be fooled by the hotel photos and the rooftop bar. Our stay here was moderate at best. The hotel lobby is cute & nice. However, I was scammed by the bellman of Freehand hotel NYC in October, 2022. After writing an email detailing the incident to Freehand's manager, my case was not investigated. The incident: My friend and I checked out of our rooms, and needed assistance to store our luggage from 1230-4 pm in October 2022. This bellman employee assisted with our luggage, and asked me if I need to "book a NYC Taxi with a fixed rate of $65 per ride to the JFK Airport" I confirmed with her (verbally) that this is a NYC cab and there's a "fix rate of $65." and she booked the ride for us around 12:15 pm. At 4 pm, we returned to Freehand hotel, and there was no NYC taxi, but a gentleman in a white car waiting for us. We were in a rush to JFK Airport, so did not jot down his license plate number. At the end of the ride, he charged us $200+ and demanded a tip, which resulted in a $223 ride from an unknown company. Then the next 3 hours, this Freehand bellman called me multiple times & insisted that I speak with this scammer (driver) who is her friend as I asked for a refund. Then, back & forth texting with this unknown scammer--whom I didn't give my number to. Beware of this hotel's management: allowing their employees to freely scam their customers with no consequences. read more

The rooftop bar was great and drinks were strong. The views were spectacular up there. Be sure to go during the day and again at night. Wonderful. We had a queen room facing Lexington with a bathtub. I do NOT recommend this hotel. Although the service of ALL of the staff was exceptional, that was the only good thing. To start, the elevators are very small and dingy. The hallway is also dingy and we saw nothing welcoming to this 4 star hotel! The room is dark! I knew it would be a small NYC room but having my husband have to climb over me to get in and out of bed was just bad! Dark carpeting is a bad choice as it shows every speck of lint and hair from the previous guests - uggh. Let's talk about the bathroom. The bathroom was so poorly lit. There were NO outlets in the bathroom! It's 2022 - they need to modernize the bathroom to at least let me plug in a blow dryer! Also, ewwww - a shower curtain instead of clean shower doors or walls! The shower head was partially clogged causing the water to spray in a variety of directions that were not all down! There was a wood shelf above the sink to put soaps toothbrush, etc on and I just kept thinking that they would have had no way to truly clean that bare wood shelf - bad choice! Finally, I had to literally stretch and reach to get to the toilet paper! It was the furthest away from the toilet that it could possibly be! There were two of us working from the room and so one of us had to work from the bed with extension cords to reach- what a nightmare situation. Never again! Again, I did want to mention that the front desk staff and the person that kept our bags, as well as the woman that cleaned our room - the best service from all of them. Mediocre hotel for the money We paid over £500 per night to stay at this hotel and accepting that NYC is expensive, this is not good enough for a claimed 4* hotel. The not-so-good-things first. The absolute worst thing is the $40/day "Facility Charge" which is nothing more than a rip off. All this gets you is access to the bars which anyone off the street has anyway. It's not noted anywhere and is only charged when you book through 3rd party sites such as Booking.Com or Expedia and not mentioned on their sites either. If you book direct, the prices are higher to include this. It is a blatant attempt to disguise the price, and the hotel is too expensive as it is. The room was worn and tired. There were two flickering lights. The air-con did not work so we had a regular fan heater in our room. There are no tea and coffee facilities in the room (we asked for a kettle, and they gave us one but no cups or coffee or even spoons!). There are no cupboards whatsoever. There is a wardrobe with four coat hangers and that's it, so clothes and things had to be put around the room. No cups in the bathroom. The toilet is very low and small! The lighting is appalling and very dark until daylight. The rooftop bar was uneventful and lacking in character and the staff were more interested in talking to each other and drinking their own cocktails! NOW the good things Great location with easy access to walk or cab to all of the major tourist sites and some nice bars and restaurants locally. We had a corner exec room which was very spacious. The shower was really nice, and the room was very clean. Massive TV with loads of channels. Bed was comfy. We had great views from the 14th floor. read more

I've stayed at the Freehand in LA before, so I decided to give the NYC location a try--and overall, it was a nice stay. NYC hotels are tricky: they're either super pricey, tiny, or in a sketchy area. Freehand struck a good balance with a decent price, great location, and a cool, moody boutique vibe. The rooms are small, which didn't bother me, but they're very dark--especially the bathrooms. Getting ready in the morning was tough, so ladies (and gents), bring a ring light! Staff was friendly, and common areas felt clean. The gym is in the basement and a bit stuffy/stinky, so I skipped it. My main gripes were around food and beverage: no coffee until 7am when the café opens, one restaurant was closed but not mentioned online, the rooftop bar requires going outside and around the corner, and you can't charge F&B to your room, which felt inconvenient. Also, no in-room water is a miss--they have a dispenser in the lobby, but it's easy to forget to refill before heading up for the night. That said, the location was exceptional, and I'd definitely stay here again and recommend it to others. read more

My friend and I took a weekend trip to New York, and stayed at Freehand. I had saved it on a previous trip, but didn't end up staying, so it was the first place I suggested to my friend. We ended up getting a great deal on Hotwire! We didn't spend a ton of time at the hotel. The room we got was very small, but honestly had just enough space, and it was very cute. The bathroom is very tight and has the smallest sink I've ever used, which was fine but very difficult to wash my face due to the shelf hung right above it. The hotel lobby is really cute. There is a restaurant attached that we didn't go to, as well as a coffee shop that we did grab coffee from one morning. They also have a rooftop bar and another bar that both seemed really fun, but we weren't able to go to them. I am a traveling physician assistant who stayed multiple times Freehand in NYC for business. My most recent stay was booked for October 5- October 6. I worked October 4 doing a 24 hour shift at a local hospital in NYC. I checked into my room at Freehand Hotel the morning of October 5 after a 24 hour shift hoping to have a few hours of sleep before returning to work that night. At 1:15pm a manager who identified himself as Shane knocked loudly at the door and was raising his voice. He claimed that I've overstayed my welcome and that I needed to leave. Mind you I only checked in several hours earlier. I tried to explain that I had the right to stay in the room, but Shane said he reviewed my stay at the front desk and was not listening to reason. He continued to raise his voice at me in a disrespectful and demeaning manner. He demanded that I gather my things and leave by 1:30pm or he would be back. I arrived to the front desk and showed them the information for my stay which showed check in on 10/5 and check out 10/6. I explained that I am coming off a 24 hour shift and the entire point of my stay was to have a few hours of piece and quiet and sleep before my shift at 5:30pm and that it was completely disrupted by his escalation, loud banging and yelling. I felt so disrespected and the entire process was demeaning. I demanded to be checked out and issued a refund for my inconvenience- the entire point of the stay was ruined. He refused my request for refund. He would not provide me the name of his direct superior and only identified himself as Shane. Avoid this place at all cost. There is no actual management structure here. No corporate office. You will have no one competent to raise your issues to. The only recourse you will have is to raise your dispute to the international conglomerate that owns the Freehand hotel franchise. read more

We just stayed at the NYC Freehand last weekend. I basically used Chat Gpt to find the least expensive hotel in the vicinity of Greenwich Village for two people. $400 for a Saturday night. Did I read somewhere that this used to be a dorm? If so, that makes sense. The furniture was so weird...old clunky oak this end up furniture. There was absolutely nowhere comfortable to sit in our room. There was an awkward chair that might have been in a hospital waiting room in another life, a stained oak wood table/chair and a little wooden stool. At one point, I just stood around as there was nowhere to sit unless I perched on the stool. It was so stinky...old stale cigarette smoke and something else. Everything is dim. We put every weird light on in our room and it was so grim. The bathroom seemed clean but the bedroom part seemed dingy. The bed was pretty comfy though! There were no amenities - no ice machine. The fridge is 3 inches deep - could fit one or two water bottles in there and that's it. The elevator bank was pretty interesting wood paneling. We did not have time to go to the rooftop or restaurant, but it was really busy and seemed fun. Everyone was friendly and the front desk provided us with some ice when asked as well as some Poland spring waters. We were only there for one night and it served its purpose, but we'll definitely look elsewhere for next time. read more

Beautiful common spaces, but painfully underwhelming otherwise. I love boutique hotels, and really hoped to like this place, but there were a lot of things to not love. The good: - Common areas are beautiful, cool, and have an awesome smell (is that even a thing?) - Location is ultra convenient The meh: - The rooms are TINY, spartan, and dark, even for NYC standards - the décor is OK, but nothing is comfortable - Virtually no insulation anywhere, so the rooms are loud from street noise, you hear your neighbors, the temperature control is near impossible, and it's hard to get sleep - The main floors feature some sort of bar/party area, so expect a lot of obnoxious people in the lobby (and drunks in your hallway - expect slamming doors all night) - Elevators are tiny, old, and crammed If this place was half the price I paid, I'd have fewer complaints - but for $400+ a night, I expect a bit better than a slightly-nice dorm room with paper-thin walls. read more

Other than the super convenient location, there is no good I could say about this hotel. The towel is soaked in heavy industrial detergent that it has a glossy finish to it. It triggered my eczema on day 2 and got a rash all over my face. If you don't have any options but to stay at this hotel, bring your own towel. The bathroom is super small and the sink doesn't offer enough room to wash your face. I hated my stay here! read more

I do not recommend this hotel especially if you have kids. The picture online are quite deceiving! We booked a 4 bunk private room. When I arrived in la I had to take my child to the ER. We got to the hotel about 3am. Apon arriving it was obvious the hotel was old and unmaintained. Our room was basically a creepy busted up jail cell. The bunks were busted with nails and broken wood sticking out. The mattresses were to small for the beds. Even with 4 bunks I could literally put my arms out from wall to walk! You couldn't even move. The windows were old fashion warehouse windows that unlatch and drop straight down. The windows opened down from the top bunk with no railing to stop from a 8 story fall! They were dirty and full of bird crap! The bathroom was like a jail shower room. The roof was not even open for swim etc. the night his test was awful and rude and could care less... I will give one star because the morning staff was pleasant. However getting my full refund was like pulling teeth! read more
