I want to start off with the staff of this hotel because they went above and beyond to ensure that my sister and I enjoyed our stay here. They were so welcoming and accommodating. The location of the hotel was convenient. The flatiron NoMad neighborhood is walking distance to midtown without being IN the busy midtown area, the hotel was also in walking distance to east and west village for some of the best food spots in the city. The hotel is also near several parks, such as Madison Square, Union Square, Tompkins Square, and Washington Square. The room was spacious as far as NYC hotels go. I have stayed in this hotel many times over the years, before the renovations. I keep coming back because of the location, but on this visit, I was especially impressed with the hotel. I must have made a note that my husband and I were celebrating our anniversary, because our room had a "Happy Anniversary" banner on it, which was a lovely touch. The renovation is nice, and the do not disturb/room service buttons are brilliant! I think I requested a room away from the elevator, which was honored. The only negative - which was not the hotel's fault- was the first night of our stay, we were awakened from a dead sleep by our neighbors (we were in 417, they were in 418), who apparently had decided to start blaring music at 4:30 AM. We waited a few minutes before calling the front desk (incidentally, we sleep with earplugs and a noise machine and it was still loud enough to wake us up). The front desk assured us it would be taken care of. The music stopped just long enough for us to fall back asleep, and then it started up again. We called the front desk a second time, and they indicated it would be taken care of. Somewhere around 5:30 AM, all was quiet again and we went back to sleep. We didn't try the breakfast but the free coffee was nice. We enjoyed the rooftop bar one evening which was beautiful and the service was attentive. I wish I could remember the name of the gentleman who assisted us upon checking out- he was the nicest staff member we encountered. Overall I would definitely return and do not hesitate to recommend. This hotel was so generous with giving us water and accommodating us. I've stayed here twice and enjoyed each stay! The king bed hotel room is a lot more spacious but I forgot to take photos of it. It was a brief stay but comfortable. The room was spacious and clean. I was in the back of the hotel and had no issues with noise. The rooftop bar/lounge is such a nice option to have and I enjoyed the ambiance up there. Downstairs has several lounge areas that are comfortable and private enough to have a conversation. All the employees were friendly and helpful. There's plenty to walk to and the Whole Foods would be handy if you're staying longer. My only issue was the shower- I couldn't figure it out. I couldn't get warm water, much less hot, and the pressure was nona-existent. I don't know if this is how they all are or if it was user error. read more

I had a pretty comfortable stay at Park South Hotel, all things considered! The showers had good water pressure, the room temperature was easily adjustable, and the rooms were clean. They had a very friendly and helpful doorman, too. A couple downsides: The bed was creaky or broken, so every time I moved it made a pretty loud noise. The pillows were also square shaped and not the most comfortable to sleep on. There was an incident where the hotel manager accidentally entered the room around 10:30 pm because they didn't realize the room was booked. An alarm went off and because I unfortunately forgot the deadbolt, the door opened and hit the door stopper. They called my room a few minutes later and were extremely apologetic. They left wine and crackers by my bed the next night with an apology note, but it was a bit frightening to sleep after with my adrenaline going. read more

The Park South is an excellent spot in mid town/flatiron! Walkable to many places and near good train lines that I needed. The team is outstanding! From the desk front team to the door team, everyone is so friendly, helpful, and professional. They honestly are reason to stay at the Park South. My only issue... the air condition is LOUD! Terrible customer service. I made my original booking of 5 days all at around $275 per night. Later I went and ADDED one day to the end of the reservation. I was NOT explicitly informed that this would TRIPLE the cost of the first night. I only found this out when I checked out that my adding one night to the end of my reservation changed my original rates, substantially increasing them. If I had known this would happen, I would have surely not altered my original reservation, but just added another one-night stay. The management REFUSED to honor my original prices. Yes, I should have read my confirmation emails, but I assumed the prices would remain the same (or in the same ballbark) because all I did was ADD a day. I feel like I just found my new 'go-to' hotel in NY! People that I encountered here were extremely nice and friendly, and big shout-out to two amazing Front Desk agents (Bryan and Rachel). After arriving at the hotel from West Coast via redeye, they tried so hard to find a room ready in the morning in spite of being sold out a night before! Anyhow they found me a room immediately, then went through all elite benefits for Hyatt Globalist in details w/o my prompting. I also had to mention other nice and friendly people: @ Sweetbriar, Roof at South Park, a nice gentleman who was attending the door, plus maintenance person who were all polite and helpful. While the room is smaller side (it's in Manhattan, so what do you expect?), it's got everything you need. I do like the boutique hotel atmosphere/coziness and the convenient location (but not too crazy being away from Times Square). Will be back! read more

We spent 10 nights of our annual summer NYC trip at this hotel and it's absolutely lovely. The room: We had a King bed with City View room and it is surprisingly large for a NYC hotel room. There was plenty of space for us to spread our two large suitcases out and still not feel cramped. The bed was beyond comfortable. The bathroom was nice with a large shower and plenty of counter space. Bathrobes were a nice touch. The location: Perfection! The location was fantastic. One block from the subway station and walking distance to Time Square. Plenty of restaurants and eateries nearby. The staff: OUTSTANDING! I was highly impressed from the check in to the check out. Everyone was super friendly and helpful. We were greeted by name each day which was very welcoming. We had a minor issue with a door in the room and they sent someone to fix it right away. I stayed here for 1 Saturday night mid-August with my boyfriend and had a fantastic stay! We had gotten an amazing deal via Orbitz and our room was only $190 after tax. Sometimes Orbitz and hotels work together to provide VIP amenities to their guests, and this hotel was one of those. So, we received free chocolates and a free bottle of wine (perfect for 2 people). The room was amazing. We were on the 8th floor with a queen bed + rainfall shower head + towel rack warmer. The robes were extremely comfy as well. We didn't have a view which was no issue because we were only going to be in the room at sporadic times throughout the day. Mainly to relax or get ready and of course, sleep. Location was perfect - easily walk-able to many areas. The hotel also has a rooftop bar (on the 9th floor) which was packed and a little on the high-end side. Definitely recommend! read more

Very happy with my stay at Park South Hotel. The best thing about it was that they offer $90 trips to JFK. Uber was $140! I don't know if this is 24/7, but I got a car at 12pm on a Sunday. My room (#808) was small but it was just me staying there so it was fine. If I was with someone else there would be very little privacy between bedroom and bathroom. The shower had great water pressure and temperature. The hotel offers free water bottles and coffee (coffee until 12pm.) And the hotel is right next door to a yummy bagel shop! Park South can't be beat! My wife and I took the train from Baltimore for the night on Valentines Day. Park South was the perfect location from the Gramercy Theater we were going to for a concert. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. The room was clean and comfortable. There will be no other hotel we will stay at the next time we come up to the city. I never trust the reviews I read on Yelp but please trust this one. We loved staying here. The only bad part about it was that we did not spend more nights here. Ok, first of all I'll say that the staff at this hotel worked very hard to elevate our experience by providing very good , attentive service. That is the end of the bright side of this hotel. A few issues that my family and I had: 1. Hotel is terribly outdated. 2. The rooms are the size of a closet, with not enough room for 2 people. 3. The queen size beds are not actually queen size, more like a large full size. 4. The hallways and the elevators have almost no air conditioning, were always steaming hot. 5. There is no ice on any floor, you have to call the front desk for ice. 6. The hotel is in an ethnic neighborhood ( middle eastern and Thai) so all restaurants reflect this. All that being said the staff was the shining light here. They all appeared to be vested in making a good impression, from the housekeeping, front desk and doormen. I'd say that I would not completely stay away from this hotel, I'd just align my expectations. read more

Unpleasant stay with poor policies. Very outdated boutique hotel that charges $500+ per night, nickel and dimes you to get water ($2 a bottle) and is generally unclean. When I checked in there was fecal matter. The room was New York style with very smart use of space with all kinds of nooks and crannys. There's a restaurant on site and a rooftop bar. The beds were comfy and the room was generally clean. The air conditioner comes on like starting your engines at INDY. It woke me up all night. I brought this up to the front desk and they confirmed that other folks have complained. I searched for a reasonable hotel not far from Kleinfelds for a girls trip to NYC for wedding dress shopping. I have stayed in MANY NYC hotels...few that I cared to stay in again...so, it was more about getting enough rooms, my expectations were pretty low. I had a few requests, so I called beforehand. I talked with Krystal and was able to get all the rooms on the same floor, an early check-in, etc. When I arrived, I was blown away. What a gem!! Very rude door man, i pulled up to go into the hotel to get a room for 4 humans and the door man immedately yelled at me to move my car and wasnt even aware or trying to find out that i was a potentially new guest. I know this will be hard to believe, but we were gifted a 5-day, 4-night hotel stay at the Park South Hotel by our daughter's amazingly generous and kind boss by the name of Preston. He booked us this stay at Park South because he stays there whenever he's in NYC. From the moment we arrived, the doormen, Chuck and Kofi, were so welcoming and genuine!! They had huge smiles on their faces and opened BOTH glass doors with such eagerness, that we got excited at the idea of what this hotel would have in store for us. And, we were so surprised and overwhelmed by how much this boutique hotel had to offer!! Our room was so luxurious- with its opulent king-size bed within the SPACIOUS room with windows that looked out to a bright city view. The furniture was modern, chic, and comfortable. The very romantic chandelier with its beautiful jewel-shaped lights set the tone of elegance and comfort simultaneously. The bathroom had a sliding door that opened to a HUGE shower that had a rainfall showerhead AND an adjustable showerhead. The bathroom also had a heated towel rack in case you came out of the shower a little chilly. There were glass door cabinets that opened with room to hang clothes and drawers to put things away. Inside one of the cabinets were TWO VERY SOFT AND LUXURIOUS robes. They were NOT the typical white terry cloth robes that smelled of bleach and were rough from all the years of use. Once I put it on after my shower, I didn't want to take it off. We didn't realize there was a refrigerator until we found it hiding inside such a beautiful cabinet. The blanket was perfect for me and my husband. It was big enough for both of us to have plenty to wrap ourselves with and cool enough to keep us from overheating and soft enough to cuddle into. In addition to all of this, we were in and out for various activities all throughout each day. One of the days was pouring rain and the hotel OFFERED US TO BORROW THEIR HUMONGOUS UMBRELLAS!!!!!!!!! We were so well taken care of!!!! We LOVED how easily two people could be under the umbrella and stay shielded from the downpour as we walked back to the hotel from seeing Hamilton. We also enjoyed the coffee in the mornings and the wine and beer in the evenings. ALL OF THIS TO SAY: 1) A HUGE THANK YOU TO OUR DAUGHTER'S INCREDIBLY KIND AND GRACIOUS BOSS 2) A HUGE THANK YOU TO PARK SOUTH HOTEL. Thank you to the front desk and all of their professional and courteous support, especially when they helped me by calling around to see if there were any last-minute reservations that could be made for a Thanksgiving dinner after our reservations were cancelled by The Smith restaurant with no explanations as to the reason and NO alternative accommodations were offered. 3) A HUGE THANK YOU to Chuck and Kofi for making every exit and entrance to and from the hotel such a joy. They have been so unbelievably warm and friendly!!!! Since this was our FIRST TIME in NY, they set the tone for how we saw NY throughout our entire stay. Came across this place while searching for a decent priced room that had good reviews and no reports of bugs. The rooms are rather small, but the hotel is clean (thank god). I checked the room extensively to make sure there weren't any unwanted visitors, and it passed. We paid about $750 for a two night stay on a Wednesday and Thursday, which was half the price of every other hotel we considered. The staff here is nice and give good recommendations for places to eat and rooftops. If you don't want to go far, they have two restaurants located inside the hotel. Our stay included two glasses of wine for happy hour at Covina restaurant. Although we didn't make it to the happy hour, it's s cute add-on. Not much around aside from a ton of restaurants, but located conveniently next to plenty of public transportation. read more

I was extremely disappointed by this hotel. I really don't understand the strong reviews. The only plus I can give is that the staff was extremely kind but other than that I found the hotel overpriced and just not worth while at all. Luckily I stayed here on business so I didn't pay for the hotel myself or I would have been more upset. First off I would say this hotel is definitely more on the outdated side. The lobby is mediocre and lacks any style. I flew in from CA and after 10 hours of travel I was anxious to get to my room and relax. After checking in I was very disappointed when I arrived to the room to find it so outdated. On-top of that there was an overwhelming smell of cigarettes on the floor I was placed on, and the smell was seeping into my room. I called the front desk and complained and again the staff could not have been nicer. They attempted to spray the floor but the smell was too much and I asked to move which they accommodated graciously and quickly. They moved me to a new floor and room which luckily did not have that smell but again the room was sooo outdated and just gave me icky vibes. The room was carpeted which grosses me out so bad in hotels and just overall I did get the impression that the room was super clean. The bed was also SOOO uncomfortable, the air didn't work properly, and there was one teensy tiny window that made me feel like I was in a jail cell. It was not a hotel I could relax in at all and I looked forward to checking out. My advise is to look elsewhere! read more

Had a great experience at the Park South Hotel. Had an executive double room, which I thought was a good size. They made good use of the size of the room by things like a sliding door for the bathroom. Nice robes, small safe and empty refrigerator to chill what you want. No room service, which I don't mind. Covina, the in-house restaurant is excellent. I did not try the Japanese restaurant, O Ya (pricey with a tasting menu), but I think it is supposed to be quite good. They have a "facility fee," which is $23.95 +tax a night. It includes wi-fi and not much else. A way to pay for the fitness facility (did not use or see it) etc. I know many hotels have these fees now, but they are annoying. My experience at Park South was good enough that if I get a good rate, I will forgive them the facility fee. read more

Smaller hotel near Park Avenue. The rooms are a bit small, but average size for NYC. Rates are cheaper than most hotels in the area, has a nice rooftop patio and has a central location and you can walk anywhere. Didn't see any bed bugs, which is a good sign and staff was very nice. You should stay here if you are looking for a more reasonably priced hotel and want a central location. read more

I came here for a Pregame birthday party. It's dimly lit and small but if looking for somewhere in the city to sleep (or pregame) this is fine. The room I was in had two queens sized bed, a huge tv, and was spotless (aside from the confetti and alcohol placed all over the room in honor of the birthday girl). The bathroom was big and the mirror was perfect for photo ops. The lobby area is very dark. Like extremely. We stepped in there and had to keep our hands out to make sure we didn't run into anything. The guy at the front desk was friendly. It was also very easy to catch a cab out front. I don't think we were that loud but of course you can't trust my judgement on that. Neighbors or some other losers complained, so they called us and asked us to keep it down (just as we were signing happy birthday. How rude!) The employee that called was nice about it and polite. Anyways everything else here was pretty cool. I'm not sure about pricing but if I was trying to stay somewhere in the city for a nice night out I'd def look into this place. read more

Awesome hotel! The nicest place we have stayed at in a great location with friendly staff. We were sold on this place right away when we checked in at 7 am (after an overnight flight) and our room was ready and we were able to check in. In our 35+ years of travel all over the world this is the first time this has ever happened!! We will definitely stay here again. Also the Roof which is their bar, is a really fun place to hang out. This is my second time at Park South Hotel and each time I have been checked in by the incomparable Rachelle. I first found myself here in March. Where I was trapped in the city due to cancelled flights with 10 high school students for a school trip. Everyone was booked and rude, but not Rachelle. She saved the day. She was calm and composed as I called frantically trying to reconfirm rooms that apparently never got booked in the first place. She is why I am back. Service so great means so much when everyone is frantically losing their minds. The rooms are clean, tastefully decorated, and simply lovely. The lobby is so comfortable. Our students sat around at night and played card games in March. This time around, I simply unmelted in the back by the free water due to the excessive heat outside. This place is also near so many train lines and a 15 min walk from Penn Station. It's a great stay for a great price and I am so glad I've had Rachelle greet me each time! read more
