Love the location a block and a quarter from the F train. A bit tricky to locate since there was a huge scaffolding in n front (I was actually across the street) and passed by it because I saw a logo that says SONDER in front. When I get inside my check in went very quickly and I was sent a code via text that would open the front door to the room. I enter the room, which was spotless and very clean....thank you housekeeping staff. I will say I chose this hotel because in the description it said under amenities "bathrobe".....I didn't see one called the front desk to get two set up and was told, "they don't offer robes anymore" :( The room had a king size bed with ample pillows (6), mini fridge, tv with Roku, coffee maker and kettle with an assortment of coffee pods and tea and condiments (stirrers were missing). Fully stocked bathroom. Happy to see an iron and mini ironing board. The water pressure in the shower was excellent and temperature of the water was stellar. If you sign into Netflix or Hulu with your login and password all are automatically deleted at 11am on the day you check out....how many of us have checked out and forgotten to sign out of these apps (as I raise my hand). There is a $150.00 security deposit required that is refunded once you check out and the room has been checked that you left it in perfect condition. The only thing (other than the robes missing) was this hotel didn't have a mini writing pad, pen or usb ports (luckily I had an adapter with me to address my charging needs) but other than those minor items I enjoyed my stay very much and would surely stay here again. Don't fret if you forget a much needed private item (shampoo, deodorant,contact solution, etc) there is a CVS right around the corner from the hotel. Restaurants and places to shop are all within a short distance so get out and explore the area. read more

Staying at a motel 6, super 8, or any motel out in the sticks would be better than staying here. For the love of God do not stay here This was my first and last time staying at Hotel Henri. By far my worst experience at any hotel The first night I was there the shower drain was clogged and flooded the bathroom, and thermostat wasn't working. It was stuck blowing super hot or super cold. I went to the front desk to ask if they could clean out the drain and fix the thermostat. Maintenance wasn't there as I'd checked in pretty late which was perfectly understandable, so they said they'd take care of it the next morning Next morning on my way out I mentioned it again to the front desk bc a dif person was manning it and a guy in an echo shirt and high tops shot me a dirty look. Turns out he's maintenance, but prefers chatting up the girls at the front desk. I wish I took pictures of this but I was so disgusted I forgot. I came back that afternoon to shower and change before dinner, but I couldn't bc the shower and bathroom floors were covered in the black drain muck and dirty gloves from maintenance. Wth???I go down to the front desk and guess who's there chatting up the girl working the desk? Echo shirt maintenance man! I confirmed he was maintenance before asking why he didn't clean up after clearing the drain. I got a dirty look and "that's not my job. I'm not the cleaner". All the wet towels were all over the floor. You could've at least tried to clean it up dude. I got a little angry and asked if he leaves his house like that or if someone else cleans up after him. Wrong of me, but still. Then he starts talking s*** about me to the guys next to him. I'm seething at this point but I'm not causing a scene bc there aren't any other hotels rooms in the city for under $1000 a night bc of FIFA. I asked the front desk girl if she could send up housekeeping to clean up my bathroom and restock the towels. Housekeeping comes and only cleans the bathroom floor. Not the shower, so I had to do it. The drain was clear, but the bathroom still flooded. Whatever. I'm done at this point. Last night I'm there I come back to my room not having been cleaned, and all my pillows were stuffed over the AC/heat unit. I did get a picture of that. I went down to the front desk to ask for pillows or pillow cases bc that thing was dusty as heck bc it had a cover and hadn't been cleaned in years. Also in picture. My friend is actively staying at this hotel currently and has had problems since day one. The shower is not properly sealed so the bathroom floods every time he showers. He works in construction and notifies the front desk in person. The engineer was present and said he would go up to fix the issue. When my friend got back to his room, maintenance had only cleared the drain but left all of the debris in the shower. My friend went down to discuss with the front desk. He saw the engineer and asked why he would leave the drain debris in the shower. The engineer proceeded to scream and curse at him that he is not a cleaner and that is not his job. My friend then found that the shower issue was not fixed. He just returned to his room after a full day in the city and found his pillows and sheets thrown around the room, all towels removed from the room and some of his belonging thrown on the floor. The AC is also not controllable with the only options being ice cold air or hot air. I had another friend book there for this weekend but, her flight was cancelled so she called to cancel and had a hard time getting through to anyone. They were able to cancel her reservation but, she has yet to receive her refund. I will update if anything else changes but do not stay here! Their customer service is terrible and their engineer is rude, aggressive, and unprofessional. read more

Overall, we had the best time staying here. It was in such convenient location in Manhattan in walking distance to many attractions. Not even a ten minute walk from the Empire State Building! The only downside is that if we didn't stay on top of cleaning, it didn't get done. They also only get towels once a day so if you need more, you definitely need to give them a heads up. read more

My parents recently stayed here for this visit to NY and had a horrible experience that they had to checkout early to go to another hotel instead. Terrible experience. Arrived shortly after 11pm to only a sign at the front desk stating they'll be back in 30 mins but they never came back. A guy also waiting in the lobby said he heard the leave at 11pm. So I called support and they did a mobile checkin for me, which took about 30 mins of my time. I get to my room and it's freezing -- and none of the climate controls work nor do the instructions they email me align with the climate devices in my room. I can even manually turn off the air given the jobs are pulled off (?) of the air conditioning unit and it's clear it's from the 80s -- it's cracked, a dingy yellow and terrible. I'm again calling into support to get help and have 12 minutes into a call while standing in this freezing room. It's just terrible. Would have been better off in a hostel or something. read more

PLEASE DO NOT STAY HERE!!! My best friend booked a stay here for my birthday on Feb.27- March 2nd. While the stay was fine when we were there, immediately upon returning we were overcharged $1000+. Even though we already paid for our room which was $500. It is now May 5th and they still have not rectified this problem. We have contacted the hotel multiple times and Management has come up empty. No response, no apology and no fix. At this point this isn't a mistake it is a purposeful attempt to scam 2 young women out of their hard earned money. We are not wealthy and we budgeted accordingly. So an extra $1,000+ is detrimental to our livelihoods. The management here should be embarrassed by their incompetence and worthlessness. Please save yourself from getting scammed by this hotel, there are hundreds of hotels in NYC that won't try and steal from you. read more

We had a good stay until we were leaving and had to interact with the manager. We had a good stay the entire 4 days and with all of the staff until check out time and that was entirely due to not having to deal with the miserable, short, bald manager. He truly hates his life and is taking it out on everyone around him, especially young women who otherwise wouldn't look at him twice. We were late checking out and he decided that this warranted banging on our door and yelling at us (2 girls alone in our 20s) even as we continued apologizing profusely and left immediately after. He continued trying to berate us and claimed he was going to charge us and proceeded to yell at us in the lobby during checkout in front of the whole staff and guests. I didn't know this was his personal bed he was waiting to sleep on and that we'd personally insulted his entire lineage because he was truly crashing out and not in a guests checking out late kind of way. The interactions were so unprofessional, incredibly disrespectful and entirely unwarranted. I feel so sympathetic for the other hotel staff because they were so sweet and even apologized on his behalf after and offered to help us with our bags, they do not deserve to be represented by this 'person' and the reputation he's giving to the hotel. I have travelled to over 30 countries and stayed in dozens of hotels and he was by far the most despicable and unprofessional. Sonder needs to rid themselves of this man before he continues his reign of terror, harasses more guests and further tanks the reputation of this hotel. read more

Bedbugs and No Accountability - Avoid This Hotel We stayed at the Sonder Henri in NYC on October 24, 2025 and discovered bedbugs in our room after one night. We immediately notified the front desk, showed them photos, and sent the evidence to Sonder, Airbnb, and Marriott Bonvoy. Instead of quick action, we spent days trying to get our refund. We found the bugs just minutes before leaving for our daughter's engagement party, forcing us to pack in a panic, check out, and find another hotel across town at the last minute. The rest of our trip was spent cleaning and worrying about contamination. This was one of the worst travel experiences we've had. The property needs immediate inspection and treatment. The hotel is in a great area, I would recommend staying here as it is the cheapest hotel in the area. The bed was also super comfy and the room was big for it being a boutique hotel. That being said it's not cheap enough for there to be pubic hair from other people in my bathroom every time the cleaners come to the room to clean. I'm not sure if they aren't changing rags or mop heads, but every time they came to clean the room there would be a different type of grime left over by the rags. Also, the grout in the shower has not only mildew but also serratia marcescens (pink mold) which is easily removed with a scrub. The brand of soap that's on the bottles in the shower are not what is actually in the bottle, they refill them with cheaper soaps, which was not something I was prepared for. I'm a soap person so I was excited to see they had the herbarium only to realize I should've packed my own. The hotel clerks are nice if you don't need anything from them, if you do need something though be prepared for them to give some pushback and a judgmental glare as they don't really want to do anything but say hi and check guests in and out. Also, do not go to the restaurant connected to the hotel (they are not affiliated even though it seems like it) unless you want a mimosa or something; the food was god awful and air-fried. I would not stay here again as I love a clean place with super friendly staff. But if I was in a pinch and wanted a nice bed and a good location, this is the one. read more

Looks like my review is the most recent since a lot of reviews were years ago! Checked in this past Sunday around 5 pm after a 5 hour flight from California and the front desk wait staff were so accommodating in helping me get situated with checking in, what amenities I had, and what spots to visit nearby. Great service from high quality people who are friendly and outgoing! On the lobby floor, there's cabinets with extra amenities if you need extras like toilet paper or towels. My room was on the 9th floor, so I had a nice view of the city. My room was clean and prepared well by the housekeeping staff. The decor was homey with a hipster aesthetic. Great ambient lighting all over the room. Nice amenities of a mini fridge, coffee maker, and microwave. The closet had extra towels too! The bathroom had excellent lighting for those bathroom selfies! The shower unit though had some wear and tear on it, with some damage on the tiling as well. The beds were super comfortable; room was equipped with centralized heating and air conditioning. One thing to note is that the housekeeping staff don't clean your room each day, but you'll have to talk to the front desk to request your room to be cleaned. Overall, my stay at this hotel wonderful! I enjoyed my trip to New York, felt so safe at this hotel, especially when I left my luggage to self explore for a few hours after checking out. read more

Longtime Sonder guest--this experience was inexcusable. I regularly use Sonder when traveling--especially in Chicago--and have never had an issue. But my stay at Sonder | The Henri on 24 in Chelsea (NYC) was deeply disappointing and genuinely unsafe. I woke at 4:30 AM to find the entire floor of my room wet. Not damp. Wet. There was no leak from above or appliances--just condensation across every inch of flooring, enough to soak through socks and pose a serious slip hazard. I contacted Sonder through their app. The response: "I reached out to onsite security to see if they can provide towels. I just checked the property and unfortunately there isn't anyone on site until 7am nor are there any other rooms available." No escalation. No alternative. No human contact until morning at 7a. This is not a sudden, one-time problem. Condensation like this doesn't form out of nowhere. The room was set to 68°F when I arrived, clearly to suppress a known humidity issue. When I adjusted it to a normal 73°F, moisture appeared almost immediately. Turning it back to 68°F slowed it--but that's not a solution. That's a cover-up. This isn't just about discomfort--it's about health, safety, and basic accountability. Sonder's tech-based model offers no real-time support when something goes wrong. In this case, I was left alone in a flooded room with no help for hours. I've trusted Sonder for years. But this experience was inexcusable--and needs to be addressed at the operational level. If you book at The Henri on 24, check the floor the moment you arrive. If the A/C is set unusually low, raise the temp and wait--if condensation appears, request a new room immediately or leave. Do not let the professional photos fool you, this hotel is not as nice as it appears online. When we first walked into our room the first thing we noticed was mold on the ceiling, dust on most surfaces, broken/battered light fixtures, and the room door didn't close all the wall unless slammed shut. When we used the restroom and flushed the toilet we noticed water would spray out all over the floor. The sink plug was broken and just thrown in the sink. The shower smelled like mold, not like any kind of cleaning product. The shower door was also broken causing crazy flooding of the bathroom floor. There's only one person working front desk so if you call down for extra towels and that person is busy, it can be up to an hour wait. Our key card continuously stopped working so we had to keep going down to get them re activated. The one pro was the bed was comfy and sheets were soft. They waved one night hotel fee out of 3 nights. This is not a 3.5star hotel in my opinion. It's a solid 2star. Would not return. read more

I want to preface that I didn't actually stay at the hotel. I was eating at the restaurant on the first floor of the hotel. It was a really hot day and we had walked around a bit and by the time we sat down and ordered food, I was feeling extremely nauseous and dizzy. Wasn't sure what was happening or if I needed to throw up, I got up to go the the bathroom (you have to cross the hotel lobby to go to the bathroom). Once I got to the lobby, I was so dizzy that I felt like I was going to pass out it I went any further, so I sat on the lobby chair and put my down to get some A/C. There was a lady at the front desk, and instead of coming to ask me if I was ok (I clearly looked sick and that I was suffering), she starts yelling at me: You can't stay here! You have to go outside! She also stared me down like I was a rat. There were no patrons anywhere and she just had no compassion that this person, who clearly looks sick, would need some help. So I drag myself back to the restaurant and a waiter came to help me get water, she got me wet paper towels to cool down, offered orange juice and kept refilling my water for me. She even got me a cup of water to go once my Uber came. I would not recommend staying at this hotel if hospitality is not required of employees. I had a heat stroke and needed somewhere to rest for a couple of minutes until my Uber came. But instead, I got chased out like a homeless person in my most vulnerable time. read more

Staff was beyond nice and answered all my questions. The room was enough space for anyone sleeping in NY because you shouldn't be spending a lot of time in your room! The TV had a sleep button option, V important. The beds were comfortable and while the bathroom isn't large, I had a great shower. The rooftop bar also has happy hour M-F 5-7 and Sunday 5-9...don't miss it! read more

As it is mentioned in another recent review below, this hotel is not as nice as it appears online. Unfortunately I did not see that review before booking. We checked in after 4pm (so there should have been plenty of time to prepare the room), and walked into an 81 degree room that was extremely muggy and uncomfortable. We then had to leave the old and loud air conditioner on for hours for it to get to a comfortable temp. This was a slight annoyance compared to the state of the rest of the room. There were stains on the comforter. The bed was made incorrectly so that the tags were all facing the top and getting in our faces as we slept. The bedding also was just cheap and rough. The room was very dusty and you could see the dust floating around when you turned the lights next to the bed on. The bed side table was all cracked and their solution was to put masking tape on just one edge of the broken glass. The fixtures were also missing light bulbs and multiple light switches didn't work. On top of all of this, Danielle at the front desk who said she was the manager was extremely rude. When bringing up just a few of these concerns, she said she had inspected the room twice and became aggressive. Quality and service were both bad and definitely would not recommend to anyone. I stayed for a work trip in Feb 2020. Nice and central spot in the middle of Manhattan. I was able to check in early after coming off a red eye flight which was ultra appreciated. I was on the top floor (just under the bar) and didn't notice too much noise at night - but I also slept with the air on for some white noise and to help drown the sound out. The upstairs bar is a nice, quiet spot for drinks early in the evening or to end the night. One of the nights during our stay they had a mixer up there, so it was busy but the service was still great even for how busy they were. Overall service from the staff in the hotel across all levels was really great and staff were helpful with any questions. Pricing was also not insane compared to a lot of the hotels in the area. Comfortable and would stay again. read more

Don't expect open doors at night, this place is locked until the front desk opens it. When we got there, several hours early, our room which likely no one was in was not available. Jet-lagged and exhausted we sat in the small, gloomy, dimmed light lobby stumped on what to do. My friends and I had to order a smaller room which the 3 of us had to share a bed. We were able to switch back to the room we reserved in the morning. The restaurant Hole In The Wall has several menu options, not so much a kid would eat perhaps. My friends and I tried the burgers that would taste rather fine if you are a meat person. Or the impossible burger which my friend didn't even notice was meat! There are two elevators that can take you up to your room which are rarely packed with people. When you enter your room it will seem pretty cramped, there is barely any room to walk. There is a desk with a telephone near the window which if on the front side of the building, you can see people working. There is a mini fridge in the entrance that keeps things cool, it wont have it super cold but shouldn't melt anything you put in there. Above the mini fridge is a coffee maker that I liked to use to make myself tea with my own teabags I brought. The bathroom is unique, it has a sink with high pressure that splashes everywhere and a shower that leaks outside onto the floor, and a regular toilet. When we wake up in the morning and leave to explore the city we expected to come back to clean rooms but the hotel housekeeper hasn't even touched our floor. They only came at 4pm while I was taking a nap. We even tried to tell front desk to tidy up our room and they said they would but when we came back around 2pm to our trashed still filled and dirty towels we were dissatisfied. If you are looking for a couple nights in the city, you can walk to the empire state building or the worlds largest Macys but other than that its a regular hotel. read more

Hotel Henri is ideally located between two touristy hot areas. Walkable to the Empire State Building and a stroll from Union Square. If you are looking to travel a bit further it is a short distance from the PATH, as well as the orange line and the yellow line. As with everything in NYC, space is limited - and with what space there is - they capitalize on it and ensure that it is taken advantage of. Our room had 1 king bed - not sure what else they offered, but for our family of 4 (2 adults and 2 munchkins) it was just right. The majority of the room was taken up with the bed, but there was room alongside the perimeter of the bed for luggages. Tucked off in the corner was a small closet that was pretty sizable. There was also a tiny bar area and a small refrigerator near the door. There were a ton of tiny little snacks ands drinks that were available for purchase. Unfortunately, the snacks and drinks take up the majority of the space so if you are looking stow things in the fridge, you will need to employ those Tetris skills. Surprisingly the bathroom was quite large. They took advantage of all the spacing on the wall so there is thin shelving alongside the sink and bathroom. My chief complaint about the restroom would be the ancient plumbing. We had a lot of issues with flushing the toilet, sometimes the water would just run on end or simply would not flush. We had to call the front desk a few times to get them to help us but it took a good 4 days until we figured out the trick - it's all in the flick of the wrist. Honestly, that alone dinged a star for me - I shudder to think how much water was wasted due to a lapse in judgement of plumbing equipment. And lastly, the design of the shower door is quite poor. After each shower a puddle of water forms along the exterior of the shower, and the little towels they provide don't do much to help with the situation. The hotel is a bit on the small side but they do have a small bar on the ground floor and a roof top bar that seem quite popular. We stayed here right before Christmas and it was shut down a few times for office parties. The staff was nice enough, although we did have a few issues when it came to housekeeping from time to time. There were a few days where it was not done completely or they simply did not come and we had to call multiple times before it was done - not the greatest. A few things to note: - Important. Hotel Henri is 1/2 a block from Shake Shack - you're welcome. If you have fancier taste its even closer to Eataly. - Water bottles are complimentary for their guests, which in theory sounds great. But again, not exactly eco-friendly. - We stayed during the winter time but hot cider, cocoa and tea were also available in the front for guests. This hotel is one that probably had a 4 or 5 star rating once upon a time. However the stars are falling. New York is a tough place to find a good hotel at something approaching reasonable. Generally I have found that either you are having to donate a body part, or sell an offspring, to afford a room or you are getting a broom closet. I was therefore surprised when I found this at a price that was not completely outrageous. The pictures seemed to indicate that the rooms were of reasonable size and the location was close to where we wanted to be. On the good side, the room was indeed as advertised and even the bathroom and shower was perfect for needs. Downsides however were plenty. Only two elevators for 17 floors means you will wait to get up or down. The restaurant is there but not operational. No food and no drinks. They do have something on the rooftop, but we did not check that out. The service was the real downer. Although they did clean the room, they did not replace the towels. They took the old ones away but did not leave new ones. I had to go and ask for them the next morning. Also the did not put new coffee pods. Basically I think they just made the bed and that's it. The place has great potential but basically do not think the management is very good or cares. I was torn between 2 and 3 stars. Gave them three to be nice because the space was good. read more

We had an OK experience here, but NYC boutique hotels are plenty, so I am sure there are better options. The bar downstairs was okay, but super pricey. It was $10/wine glass for their happy hour special (!!!) Don't let NYC fool you: yes, the city is expensive but NO, $10 per glass of wine is not a good deal. I think they bank on 'tourists' who don't know any better. You can go to so many different restaurants for $6/glass specials. Imli is an Indian restaurant I love (on 63rd and 1st) and it is just one of the many spots with real happy hour specials. Trust me: I know. I lived in the city for years up until very recently. The dang elevators here are super small and, because there's only two, it can take 10 minutes to wait for an elevator. When we finally got on the elevator (which can probably only accommodate 4 people), it stopped on every floor. Major traffic jam. That said, the folks working here were pleasant. There are just so many options in the city that I'm not sure i'll return to Hotel Henri. There wasn't any 'wow factor'. Rooms were clean, people were nice, but any 4+ star hotel should also be able to provide that, plus more. read more

Weather kept me in town last week so I decided to make a night of it with my friend at this hotel. The room was great, spacious by nyc standards and the beds were extremely comfortable. Had a great lunch at Rodos on the ground floor and at night we watched the snow fall from Sir Henri Penthouse Rooftop over some stiff drinks and small plates. The front desk staff were really friendly which made checking in and out easy. Also loved the fun little extras like the beautifully decorated tree and decal detailing by the elevator banks. First, let me say I never do Yelp reviews as I find them often far too subjective. I stayed there for two night last week, room was fine, staff was great. I check out, all is well. Today I notice I have a charge for $54 on my card. I call to inquire why. I was told it was for "coffee, tea and water in the room, internet, and the complimentary drink I received upon my arrival (which I wasn't told about)." Now I fully expect to be charged a king's ransom if I consume any of those things, but I didn't, nor did I take anything from the minibar, etc. So basically I am being charged $27 a day for ACCESS to this stuff regardless of if I use it? I have traveled all around the world and I have never had something like this occur. It is too bad because the location was good, the hotel room was nice. But I won't be staying at this hotel ever again and perhaps not at any Wyndham properties in the future. At least not without checking to see if this ridiculous charge is a company wide policy. read more

Was skeptical when I saw the yelp reviews. By the time I looked at them I had already booked a non refundable room. Nevertheless, the hotel wasn't as bad as expected. BAD: - Deluxe King room was a lot smaller then expected - "City view" was straight view at an office building separated by an alley - The shower was pretty small - The mini fridge looked like it had been ransacked and wasn't fully stocked so I asked them to lock it because I was worry about being charged - They charge $25 for 2 water bottles, 3 k-cups, tea, and some nearby gym weather you use the amenities or not. *There was no tea in my room. We are two healthcare workers who came into town on a really tight schedule. I spoke with Danielle about our situation about 2 weeks before arriving to New York and from the moment we spoke, I was overcome by her kindness, hospitality, and service. She helped me out and eased my concerns, and was even kind enough to give me her personal cell to assist with my travel plans given that my husband and I were working night shift at the time. Hotel Henri was a comfortable hotel, with nice beds, showers, and location. It was close to the subway, numerous shops, and some great restaurants. My only quibble was the lack of a tub and the thin towels. However, what made my stay at Hotel Henri so amazing was the care I got from the staff here. I was here for a week for a business trip, but became very very sick my first day. Everyone from maintenance on up saw how sick I was and was so attentive and considerate! In particular I would like to shout out the excellent help I got at the front desk. Their attentiveness, compassion, and solicitousness helped me get through a truly terrible time in my life. They tried their best to get me through my illness, checking up on me, sending tea and food, and helping me with any tasks I could not handle (such as calling a car to the airport). I would like to give a special shoutout to the excellent concierge Joaquin (baby Obama!) who really took his service to unforgettable status. I would also like to thank Ellie a the front desk for her care and sunny disposition. I would have never made it out of NY in one piece if it wasn't for the people here. I would stay here again 100%. Here for a business trip for a client that's local. For the price and location, this hotel wasn't bad. It was within walking distance of so many places which probably sounds stupid to say because if you're a local, you're probably used to the cafes, restaurants and services around. The only thing I did not care for was the decor of the room. Everything was so dark and you could tell they were trying to be chic and feel like a boutique. It's fine, but felt a little too hip for me. I just wish it were a little brighter. They do give you free bottled water each night. Bathroom size was ok - it's NY so you can't really expect anything super spacious. Service was fine. On my last day, I was told that I could schedule a car in advance to take me to the airport. The pricing seemed to make sense since it would be about the same price as an Uber/Lyft, but really it doesn't matter. I chose to do it out of fear of rideshares not being available at my beck and call. I don't recommend the car service - you're better off with Uber/Lyft since you can pay by credit card and not walk with some kind of weird card receipt given to you by the driver. There are worse hotels to stay at. This one's fine. read more

When we stayed here the room was dusty and dirty. It's supposed to be smoke free and the person staying next to us was smoking the whole time. Our room reeked and therefore so did our clothes I could barely breathe or sleep. When we told management they just said they would see if they could identify the smoker at a later time. We actually checked out early because we couldn't stand the smell. Definitely would not recommend this place. read more

Canceled on me the night before at 10:30pm when I had to be up the next morning at 4:00am for a yoga training. Leaving me scrambling to find a new place for the next week since I was visiting from CA! Apparently my money isn't good there since they charged my card the 2k then returned it 3 hours later after they looked at my ID and photo. I guess they don't want guests with long hair and Hispanic last names. Have never experienced something like this in my life. They told me that it was a final decision and I could never stay there and when asked for the reason they said it's between the hotel and their guests... absolutely insane. This is our go-to place when we need a quick overnight in the city. Because of Madison Square park at the end of the block there is never any traffic on the street, which is really refreshing. There's a convenient parking garage and you can get breakfast from the restaurant next door included, which is much better than your standard hotel "buffet" continental breakfast. But the reason we choose this hotel over other similar ones in the same area is because every time we arrive the kids at the front desk are friendly, outgoing, helpful and efficient. Pleasant check-in at hotels is crucial for me. It's the deal-breaker. They were even wearing cute costumes on Halloween. (In this neighborhood you have to know that Halloween is bigger than Christmas.) The rooms are absolutely Spartan but clean. You simply get a bed, a window, a desk, a TV remote control. Maybe a clock radio. Its fine. The bathroom is also completely clean. The room is small but no smaller than any other place. We also get a room in the back (no view whatsoever) to get as much quiet as possible. Rates are very competitive. I highly recommend for basic accommodations in good location. This hotel is in a great location in New York. On a quiet one way street. Felt very safe. Located between 2 subway stops. Very close to the FlatIron building. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. This is a small hotel but tall. The rooms are small also. But clean which is only way to get a good rating. Pretty much just a small room and a bathroom. Good TV nice comfortable bed. There is a restaurant next door that you can eat at. But on the corner of the street there are coffee shops. The bar restaurant next door has happy hour and gives free appraisers. Over all the hotel is very good place to stay. I would stay there again. But the price is 299.00 which is about average in Manhattan. I do not feel is worth that price. You do not get anything special. Just a room, bathroom, and TV. read more

Overall the hotel was great! The reason I gave it 3 stars is because the room was not fully cleaned when we walked in. There was a mysterious pink pill on the ground, along with some plastic wrapper and later on I found an empty bottle of snapple under the bed. There was visible dust in the bathroom, and on side tables. Normally I wouldn't mind, but since COVID is around I would have expected a cleaner room. On the bright side, the bed was extremely comfortable, and the location was perfect ! read more

This was the worst hotel I've ever stayed at. And the service was absolutely horrible. When we first arrived, our rooms was not properly cleaned, because we found food from the previous guests in the fridge. We went down to the lobby and made them aware of it and asked to get a new room, because of COVID and everything, we didn't want to stay in a room that wasn't fully clean. After checking out, we found out they charged us 300 DOLLARS for a room change! Even though it was their mistake! In addition to that we found that the housekeeping was very bad and they did not vacuum or wipe any of the surfaces because there was always dust everywhere after coming back to our room after housekeeping. The housekeeping also TOOK MONEY FROM US, mistaking it for tips, even though it was before the date we even checked out. How stupid can they be?! You don't leave a tip until after you leave and I certainly would not leave tips for that horrible job they did cleaning our room. We also talked to the staff about it MULTIPLE TIMES and they never did anything about it. The housekeeping also touched and moved our stuff around to the point where I had to SEARCH FOR MY STUFF around the room before packing and leaving. Overall, it was just a horrible experience and I would definitely not recommend this hotel to anyone. KEEP OUT! The people working there were just next level stupid. read more

Here's the deal with the Hotel Henri: it's a Wyndham that's acting like a boutique hotel. So they took a Wyndham Garden Inn and remodeled it into Stuff Millennials Like. So even though you might have read on the web that it's an "indie hotel" you'll see the Wyndham Wizard in the lobby and you can earn and redeem Wyndham points. Some of it works. The decor is fairly minimalist, with a faux concrete wall that's been "tagged" with the words "Always Be A Poet" - reality: it's wallpaper. It looks cool, though. There's LED rope lighting around the headboard and base of the bed and there's dim Edison style bulbs in the room to give the place an Ace Hotel appearance. Also cheesy are the words on the wall to make you feel like you're backstage. But the upside is since they didn't put a lot of furniture in the room, this average tiny NYC hotel room feels kind of spacious. The shower is really nice. There's a CVS around the corner if you forgot stuff. The restaurant the website had promised when I booked had changed to a Mediterranean place when we got there; it did not offer breakfast, but there's lots of options in the neighborhood. I was looking forward to a drink at the hotel's penthouse bar. But by the time Saturday night rolled around, they had the EDM cranked up so loud that you could hear it three floors down and a nice quiet drink was not to be had. (Also: my wife and I probably weren't dressed nice enough to go up there/too old based on the people we encountered in the elevator.) Since our room was two floors below the bar, it took both white noise machines that we had packed cranked to the max to block out the bass. If you're not planning to party all night, keep this in mind. If I want the Ace experience, I'll stay at the Ace. I don't know if the Henri knows what it wants to be yet. read more
