My experience with Freeman Orthodontics has been wonderful! Dr. Freeman spent so much time explaining my treatment plan and making sure all of my questions were answered. The office is always running on time, I ALWAYS see Dr. Freeman at every appointment, and everyone from the front to the back office are so knowledgeable and kind. His staff have all been with him for years (which says so much about a practice). I can already see the improvements in my smile. Freeman is a cattle in and cattle out operation with lots of fun things for the kiddies but no sense of responsibility for their patients. I was an adult patient severely impacted by P.B. Sanderson as a teenager. For ease, four teeth were pulled before my jaw had developed. The old metal banded braces did not move my teeth as a whole. My teeth were "bonsai-ed," with the crowns moved but the roots never moved. By mid life I was in a mess. I worked extra jobs for 2 High End Periodontal Laser Surgeries for Freeman, the Original Doctor, to clear me for his high end kiddie braces. Though the perio man wanted 2 years, Freeman shortened the course to less than 18 months. Freeman, to make it easy, wanted to remove just another perfectly healthy tooth. The Perio man said no. I had enough bone loss. Dr. Freeman claimed to have presented my case to a conference, it was so successful. However, the therapy required a permanent wire behind the upper teeth, The retainers had to be made to fit over the wire. I was told by Freeman I had to wear the retainers for life. Freeman the King then sold his practice of cute young girls who looked at my teeth more than the doctor did. The metal retainer broke. The new owner said, "We can't fix it because we don't use that therapy." This made my retainers useless as well. I was not offered any options or even new retainers. I was a done deal and they wanted no responsibility, using "Dr. Freeman isn't active in the business anymore." In all my expenses were about $20,000 between lasers and Freeman. They could have cared less that I was left up the creek. I have never had a cavity, no root canals- my teeth were essentially perfect and still are except for mobility and spaces, and gum damage from metal bands and the fear I will be stuck one day- now I am 72. But teen orthodontia ruined the teeth I was born with and the Freeman practice just took me to the cleaners and threw me onto the street. Dr. Freeman is a big phony baloney ZERO not interested in delivering patient care, but invoices. It is too bad that teenagers are forced into orthodontia without knowing the consequences mid-life which generally involve major reconstruction, incurable periodontal disease, and emotional stress. I hate dentists. Now I am using a program of Rife Frequencies to save myself. I will never trust another dentist. Freeman Office is a big fun show, but the buck stops there. It is "corporate" orthodontics, like a mass chicken producer, not dedicated to providing a lasting standard of medical treatment and health. I'm sure it looks swell to the parents, and to the kids who get games and prizes, but that is marketing smoke and mirrors. When Freeman's treatment failed and I should have been immediately refitted with new retainers, they shrugged me off with a sorry, we don't do that treatment anymore. The adults I have known who have been through similar risks to their teeth ALL have wire retainers behind their teeth in addition to the night retainers. So Freeman does not have a standard of care which aligns with other adult orthodontics. Adult orthodontics is not Invasalign. It is a course, or medical treatment and in my case a corrective procedure due to failure of the first ortho man my poor father struggled to pay. Both Invasalign and an irresponsible orthodontist can have you in dentures before you know it. I have nothing but the worst wishes for all of Dr. Freeman's own children's teeth. They "quoted me" $1,000 as a new patient to simply help me remove the Invisalign clips glued to my teeth from a previous treatment in 2021 by my out of state orthodontist. Receptionist confirmed the price with the ortho doc too. She told me my other option was to fly back to Maryland and have the original ortho doc removed the hardware from my teeth, as my other option. I'm going to the dentist next door. I have been an adult patient of Dr Chris Freeman since 2016. I found his services to be thorough and exceptional. In addition to the orthodonture work I needed, he was the first dentist to recognize the receding gum issues I had and therefore referred me to a Specialist. Dr Freeman also helped to coordinate the timing of my orthodonture work with the gum surgery I needed. The result is now my teeth have been straightened and my gums have been repaired. I have always hated going to the dentist; however, my visits to Dr Freeman's office were always a pleasant experience. I had appointments at both the Ft Lauderdale and Plantation offices and both facilities were clean and welcoming. I never had to wait long for appointments and members of the staff were always attentive and professional. It seemed everyone I encountered actually enjoyed working for Dr. Freeman. They are unprofessional scam artists. Dr Freeman does not know what he's doing. After I got my retainer, i had to point out that all my back teeth were messed up, even though all that I initially came in for was a slight overbite. So, he tries to fix it. ... six months later my teeth were even more messed up. I now have to see a professional Orthodontist to fix the major problems that he created. I DO NOT RECOMEND!!! I was recomended by Bright Young Smiles in Pompano, I trusted Dr Jared Youngs opinion and went to Dr Freeman to discuss my sons teeth and the sales girl took me into her office with my son. I asked why do we not meet with Dr Freeman first and have him look at my sons teeth, she assured me that once we get started, Dr Freeman himself as well would be looking at my sons teeth, that every step of the way Dr Freeman makes sure my son is getting the proper treatment. I explained to the sales girl that my son is in a private school in NYC and that he would not be able to come to the regular visits, that he could only come on his school vacation breaks, I asked will this be a problem, the sales girl assured me not to worry, we will work with you sons schedule until his teeth are all in perfect alignment and that it would be no issue if he can't make it to each recomended visit, that they will work with my son not living in Florida. I also asked what about when it hurst him so much, we were advised just wait a day or so to subside the pain and then proceed forward. I said ok this sounds great and proceeded forward because I highly trusted Bright Young Smiles recommendation. Dr Freemans office gave me a bunch of papers, sign here it was imposible to read everything instantly and the sales girl was very suave and said you know the standard paperwork, and a huge bill over $5000.00 now your son is all set and ready to get started. My son on every vacation was flying in to Florida to get his Invisaline and in 18 months (we have never once met or seen Dr Freeman) and we have been to all of his different offices!!! As well I can't keep up with the staff turnover, they don't last very long, you are constantly having new people being the ones making the next steps decision, there is definitely something not quite right with his operation. On our previous visit the girl (not Dr Freeman ) told my son ok now you need to wear your invisaline continuously without fail and my son said sometimes its so painful, she replied take Tylenol it can help, I told the girl I dont give my son medications for nothing. I showed the girl his teeth and said they still need time they are not straight enough yet and he has an underbite still, ( my son is young he sometimes forgets to wear the invisaline to school, or it hurts him to much so he would not wear it that night instead of taking Tylenol) I was not concerned because the Sales Girl had assured me not to worry we will work with you until he has the perfect smile but on these last few visits you could sense the pressure they were pushing for visits and I explained hey he is still in school we can not fly him in yet and they were saying oh no worries we are now doing it on the computer by Zoom and I said ok but I could feel how they were so pushy as if they were on a deadline...then the truth started coming out I flew my son in (and again a new girl that we never met before) told my son ok your almost done you wont need anymore invisaline these will be your last trays you need to wear! I told the lady excuse me he still has a little crookedness its not there yet and he still has an underbite he still needs time for this to all come together and she said ok then you will need to double up on the elastics so it pulls more, you could clearly see they didn't care about where his mouth is, I strongly felt they have a deadline to meet and that is what was important to them!! On our next visit (again a new person we had never met before) I said ok my sons teeth straightened out but there is still a slight underbite, my son is doing good unfortunately my sons backpack was stolen and his invisaline was in it and has missed not wearing his invisaline for 7 days, he just needs a little more time and that's when the truth came out, they lady said Oh Im sorry his time is up we cant do anything for him and if he wants to continue its $350 plus $150.00 per month and I said first of all I understand my son missed some days or he sometimes was in so much pain he would take a day off, Im not saying he was perfect but I explained to the sales girl from the beginning that we will not be a consistent customer due to his school schedule and the salesgirl had assured me not to worry we will work with you until we get those teeth right. This company is a SCAM!!! they will tell you anything to get all your money upfront, we never once met Dr Freeman, we continuously had different people for each appointment and at the end all they care about is locking you in for more money. So I said I dont mind paying another $350 for another invisaline to replace the stolen ones but what is the $150 per month, maybe his lower bite will need 6 months to adjust, she said just to be on our program! Not sure who in So Fla is using Freeman Orthodontics, but they aren't the company they used to be. We were disappointed when Dr. Freeman went behind the scenes like the Great Oz, and went through several other Dr.'s that were honestly just not great. When we asked how they handled transferring if we moved, they said that payments would stop and be prorated and we would find a Dr. in GA. We moved but after payments were completed. After months of trying to get $$ from them, they have refused any kind of prorated refund, except for the retainer money. Convenient since we are paid in full. I wonder if it would have been different if we were still paying? And the office manager, who is Dr. Freeman's wife, is the one denying any refund and has been sitting on the retainer refund money for a month. What is taking so long? I had braces as a child and just needed some minor adjustments. I started treatment in May 2017 and it is now Nov 2019. I am now on my 3rd set of trays and they keep saying it is the last. My teeth still aren't where they should be, so it is now onto #4 - ridiculous. Not confident they know what they are doing at this point. Run! Stay away! Terrible is all i can say. If you don't mind showing up for appointments and the door is locked and lights are off, never seeing the same ortho because they quit, having wires pop of off and brackets fall off, waiting 30 plus minutes after you sign in, basically getting crappy care then you won't mind anything. I was fed up and left, even after paying in full. When i asked for money back, it wasn't an issue. They seem to have it down to a science and don't even ask you why you are leaving or have an office manager call you to see what your concern was. They simply don't give a s$%t. The office manager is on the road with dr Freeman pushing their swanky smiles bs. They push invisaline of everyone so they can give you the trays and not have to see you. I had my son come to the Plantation office for his treatment. At first everything was great. Once they changed the materials used to make the trays for "Invisalign " he started to complain and let them know he could not wear them. They were NOT using Invisalign but a sub par product at that point and admitted to changing what was initially used. We stopped coming during COVID due to health concerns and when we did come back seven months later we were told his treatment ended. We would have to start over with a new contract. I declined as we were absolutely NOT happy with the care he had been receiving to that point as ever single time we went to his appointment we let them know his gums were being torn apart. He was told in no less words to basically deal with it and toughen up. His brackets were never taken off his teeth. One year later his dentist told us to come back to the Orthodontist to have them removed. We did ... and the office manager Myra was EXTREMELY condescendin, rude and would not speak with me. I was being told to sign a form that stated I was choosing to end his care early. ABSOLUTELY NOT THE CASE. I let Myra know she may want to close the door as she had left it open and I did not feel any of the patients needed to hear the conversation. She immediately went on the defense, called another lady in the room, refused to allow me to speak to her or her to speak to me. Then left the room and told me I needed to speak directly with Dr. Freeman ... who never came to speak with me and told Myra I did not have to sign the papers. I have NEVER left a negative review. NEVER. I always leave positive reviews for companies. My advise ... just stay away from this office. It is a complete waste of money and time. WASTE! Even the ease of making an appointment and their confirmation system via phone/email/text is super convenient along with the reminder that is sent. My family Dentist originally recommended Freeman Orthodontic in Feb/2017. Made an appt. and met with Dr. Freeman who was super nice and gave us a lot of information. Ended up contracting with them for my child's braces. The first few appt. were great. They were very efficient. Both Dr.'s and staff. My child got to see Dr. Freeman and Dr. McCaffrey. I was comfortable with them. Then things started to change. No more Dr. McCaffrey. Then you don't even see Dr. Freeman anymore. Even after requesting an appt with him specifically. My daughter had brackets fall out literally 2 wks after they were replaced, 2 times. I was told 9 months into her having braces that she would only need them for a few more months. Here we are a year and a half later and still no end in site. They scheduled an appt at an office and when I went to the office it was closed. Then they scheduled an appt and then called me a few weeks later saying their hours had changed. Appts. are clearly over booked as wait times are longer than before. I'm looking forward to the day that her braces come off. What seemed like a good practice is going down the drain. In my opinion, should have stayed as Dr. Freeman and McCafferty instead of going Corporate with Swanky Smiles. The change is noticeable. My family has used Dr Freeman for years (myself and all four of my children). I have referred several friends as well. Unfortunately, Dr Freeman lied to his customers regarding the future of his company and he is actually selling his practice. My son had previously been told that he would never be able to have Invisaligns because of the structure of his mouth. However, one miraculous day I was told that with all of the new innovations and advancements he would, in fact be able to have Invisaligns. In fact, all of the patients would. I kept wondering where he was and why he was never there. I expressed my concern and I was assured and promised that Dr Freeman would personally design and oversee the entire treatment. This turned out to be a lie. Today I actually asked what ever happened to the rubber bands that were supposed to be part of my daughter's treatment. The response was, "ok ok we can do that." What?!!! I asked if there was anything else she needed. The orthodontist of the day assured me there was nothing else. I explained that I was the one who care up with the rubber band idea. He said, "I know, but that's all she needs." What?!!! I'm disgusted. I am not happy with the progress of my son's teeth either, probably because he shouldn't be in Invisaligns. His teeth aren't even all grown in and they assured me that he was ready. All lies. There's no one to even complain to. Interesting we paid in full for my sons orthodontic care and come to find out Dr Freeman no longer sees patients and has moved to only doing Invisalign. The staff is nice but it seems as if the treatment plans has changed of course, the treatment has been extended about a year from Dr. Freeman's original estimate.
