I have been using Freer Auto Repair for about 20 years now. I will NOT take my cars anywhere else. Tony is a competent and honest mechanic that runs his place that way. Over the last two decades Tony has fixed several types of issues with multiple cars that I have owned (two boys that have cars, my wife's and my cars). And of course the routine oil change & checkout for all of our vehicles. You don't get your car washed and vacuumed - but, you get excellent service and satisfaction that what Tony said he did, got done. Important things like tire rotation and filter inspections are done instead. I have had multiple cars with over 140k of miles that I put on (drive regionally for my job) with comfort in knowing that they were in top shape. I drive places like the middle of the Mojave so it is very important for me to know my car is in top shape. One last comment - The guy takes his mechanics to lunch every Friday religiously. OMG is this place OUTSTANDING!!!!!! I inherited a 1996 Mitsubishi Montero due to a death in the family and needed to get the title in my name. In order to do that I had to have it smoged but since the check engine light was on it would be an automatic fail. Well, I found Tony Freer on Yelp and I could not be happier with his kindness, helpfulness and most importantly HONESTY!! His shop fixed the problem and it didn't cost me an arm and a leg. After all of this was said and done (title in my name etc) I went back to him and asked if he knew of anyone who would be interested in buying the car. It turned out he did and put me in touch with the gentleman and that evening the car was sold. Talk about SERVICE! Now mind you that's not going to happen to everyone all the time, I just got lucky with the timing. (BTW..I'm gonna pay him a finders fee which, I feel he deserves). That very same day, I had brought him a Toyota Tundra to check out to see if it was worth buying as a third car/utility vehicle for my family. For $35 he checked it from top to bottom and told me what it needed (new radiator, spark plugs and battery) but other than that it was in excellent condition and the price the owner wanted for it was fair.....not bad for a 14 year old car with 200k on it. Once again.....TOTAL HONESTY. Folks listen here: In this day and age it's SUPER hard to find someone who's a straight shooter and will tell you like it is...(without trying to rip you off)--especially in the world of automotive repair. Too bad Tony's mechanics are no longer reliable, honest, competent nor professional. A simple oil change on my Sprinter Van cost me dearly. Not only did he deny braking parts, I had to have it towed to somewhere more reliable to have it repaired. $600.00 later I have my vehicle back. Not even an apology from Tony Freer. I am not going to drool over his ethics and skills but your vehicle will be fixed and without any extra bs or mechanic hanky-panky. Now that being said...Tony is not cheap or discount.
