When I booked my trip, everything was simple and clear. The climbing instructor and guide, Rick, who also runs the school, was very professional and knowledgeable about the area and the rock. He was both directive and encouraging. Safety was the number one priority, with the second being having a great experience. I was definitely challenged and felt really accomplished at the end of my half-day. Getting one-on-one instruction was the best way to improve and climb on rock I had never climbed before. Thank you! Met up with Rick (owner/operator) and Matt (guide) at Castle Rock state park as instructed. Pretty easy drive from downtown SF to get there by 8am on a Saturday. Rick was great. We showed up somewhat less than prepared, no snacks, limited water, forgot the waivers and no bug spray. Between Rick and Matt, they patched us together and we had a blast. We're from IL, so clearly Novice level, but the location offered a variety of climbs to broaden skills while keeping it fun. Excited to get to Bend, OR and look Rick up again as he has a new location that just opened there!

The last time I took the kids it looked like so much fun I borrowed my kids tiny board and rode in a skatepark for the first time in 25 years! The park is a perfect mix for beginners and pros, with easy roll ins and gentle humps all the way to bowls, stairs, and gaps. We've been to some other skateparks that have steeper ramps and feel much more closed in, we end up coming back to this one because it's more spacious with plenty of room for everyone. The snake run is really fun for beginners and you can learn to roll in here and ride some banks. The negatives of this skatepark are sometimes people that live in their cars will park out here, there used to be a lady with a full on garden outside of her car and sometimes people will hang out in the grass nearby and smoke weed. Haven't seen it in awhile but we started coming early morning. The closest bathrooms are at the park so a pretty far walk if you need to use them. There is also no shade don't gets hot during summer.

Imma and my friends were attacked, and harassed by the park ranger (also a skateboarder) the ranger kicked my friends car, a dad got furious with rage and ensisted on fighting until we left the park. I don't understand where this hate comes from, we had common skatepark etiquette, as we always do, I was even giving the angry dads son props prior that day. The ranger here is out of control. I was completely dumbfounded by his behavior. As sloppy and unprofessional as it gets. This was over a year ago, and I hear he still works here. FIRE THE RANGER!!!!! 2017*

During busy tournament weekends, they do a phenomenal job coordinating strip coaching. Even while juggling multiple events at the same time, they never miss a beat. What I appreciate most is that they take the time to actively mentor the kids both on and off the strip. They are always right there to keep the kids' spirits up whenever they are feeling down after a tough bout. Another huge advantage of AFM is the size and depth of their classes. They have enough fencers in each age group to ensure the kids get to practice against a wide variety of fencing styles. Because of this, every group class feels like a mini competition, which is fantastic for their development, all while the coaches ensure they are still focused on learning and applying targeted techniques. Beyond the exceptional coaching and training environment, the club itself is highly organized and incredibly responsive. Communication is clear, and you never feel left in the dark as a parent. What truly makes AFM special, however, is the welcoming atmosphere. It feels less like just a training facility and more like a tight-knit community. Everyone is incredibly friendly, and both the kids and the parents are building lifelong friendships here. Above all, it is so apparent that the staff genuinely wants their students to succeed and grow as athletes and individuals. You can tell they care deeply about the kids' personal development, rather than just focusing on medal counts. This review is for the badminton summer camp. The camp was run by a few teenagers, and the actual…read moreamount of badminton play time was about 20-30 min per 3 hour session. There were about 3 instructors for about 25 kids. The rest of the time was stretching and drills. They didn't have enough rackets for all the kids who signed up, so they rotated the kids to do other things like stacking up birdies or coloring/drawing. Several kids age 6-9 who signed up for the full day camp were left completely unsupervised in an unlocked facility during the one hour lunch break all week long. The facility owner/supervisor was notified, but nothing changed. On one day, one of the teenage instructors asked a parent who happened to be there if they could watch the full day kids while they left for lunch, which was very inappropriate. Super disappointed with the quality and safety of this camp. It was a waste of money and I definitely would not recommend it.

He explains each step in his instructions why he wants students practice certain move; meanwhile, he also encourages students to challenge some advance techniques making sure students won't get injured while do so. Quickly I could do my first kick turns, drop into light banks and do wide turns into quarter pipes. Then I got into steep banks & some transitions, and worked on my ollies, fakies, perfecting balance and polishing steep turns. Mark lacks basic knowledge regarding client safety and clearly cares more about collecting fees than protecting his students. Furthermore, he and his staff lack formal training; they started as a group of friends meeting at a park before turning it into a business. I highly advise against taking classes here. I am seriously concerned for the safety of others, especially children. "Only one coach seems to care about teaching. The rest just socialize--for example, one coach only seemed interested in chatting with young girls--while others simply ignore students during open gym, despite the promised professional guidance."
