Came in to buy swim trunks that were on hold from 7/11-7/14 employees told me to come in the next day because that's when they were off hold . I came in on 7/16 to buy them and they said I couldn't because an employee friend wanted them . Employee was completely rude about it and I will never come back to this establishment ever again after this incident and I had been coming here for years and sad to see this place going down hill especially since their new wave of employees being completely incompetent and rude. I brought in a bag full of stuff and for some reason they don't accept clothes unless they're in your finest designer bag! They graciously gave me a laundry basket and after going through my things, they decided to take 3 things and gave me $13. I asked why they didn't take a SKIMS item with the tag and 2 girls behind the counter proceeded to talk shit about me while I was standing there. I have brought items to sell at Freestyle several times and the staff are always very pleasant to work with. The selection of clothing they buy is seasonal but it always helps to ask what they are buying. I don't go in with expectations of making a lot of money for the items I bring in but every little bit helps! It was nice when there was same day drop off available but now only next day pick up is available. The parking lot gets a bit crowded but I have always been able to find a space. There are sometimes sidewalk sales which ate priced well. The hours recently changed to open later (please see picture). read more

The one thing I like about this place is that they will give you a certain amount of cash upfront. You can either take it or get a little bit more percentage to use in store.. so I gotta go early in the morning. Drop off a bag of super cool cute clothing next day you go back around 1 PM to pick up what they didn't take and find out if they offer you anything for it. They have really cute fines that you probably will not see anywhere else and the customer service is pretty cool. I like their stuff. read more

Pretty disappointed in the quality of service at this establishment. Last night the fitting rooms were closed, but the employee assured me that my items would be put on hold for 24 hours. I called the next day to let them know I would be coming and to make sure my items were still on hold. The employee on the phone confirmed that my items were still on hold and would be waiting for me. I get there and only two of the six items I placed on hold were on the rack. The employees, including the young lady who placed them on hold for me, had no idea where they went. I found two more of my items randomly placed on the rack behind the fitting rooms, but the two pairs of jeans I wanted were gone. I didn't feel like shopping for them around the store as they should've been held properly so I took the items I wanted to the counter to purchase. The employees apologized for the inconvenience multiple times, but that's all. I would've hoped for at least a 10% or 15% discount for the inconvenience, but whatever. However, when I went to count my money to pay, I was short of the 22 cents I owed. I told the employee that I might have an extra dollar since I don't have the 22 cents and she placed my money to the side and waited while I was scrambling to find the remaining balance. Like GIRL, after all of that you couldn't AT LEAST cover 22 cents????I'm still annoyed as I type this. It's so hard to find nice jeans that fit my body right so I was mega disappointed. A discount of some sort or even a COUPON would've made me feel like anybody genuinely cared. Do not ever sell your clothes here, 15 pairs of 80-150$ pants for 50$ this is the most laughable scammy bs of all time. There clothes are overpriced and they rip you off when you sell. My rating is as a customer only; I've never sold or traded in clothes here. As far as gently-used clothing stores go, this one is pretty decent. They're located right next to Trader Joe's, which is probably the main reason I've been in so many times. In general, I'm not a fan of buying used clothes. I would usually only go to a thrift or consignment store if I need something unusual to wear. I think the first time I ever came here, I was looking for something weird to wear to a themed Yelp event. I've been in many times over the years, and have ended up finding a few of my favorite items. For example, I have a pink dress with a Siamese cat pattern that I bought here nearly ten years ago that's still in good shape. I also got one of my favorite gaudy chunky necklaces here. On the other hand, a lot of their items are overpriced. I barely even look at the shoes or the purses anymore, because, when it comes to those specific items, I can usually get something new for cheaper elsewhere than I can get something used here. Last night, while looking through the dress section, I saw some "dresses" that I know for a fact are from last year's Wal-Mart pajama line. They were priced higher than their original prices at Wal-Mart were. It kind of threw me off, because this is usually my favorite section to look through. So, I guess it's a little hit and miss, but, overall, they have better finds than any other clothing consignment store I know of in the Folsom area. HUGE rip off. I brought in multiple new name brand items many of them w the tag on not worn. Out of the items I brought they took 21. Looked at the tag when I was cashing out to see they valued my items at $420. I only got $100 in cash. Doesn't seem right to me. Seriously, take the time to do Poshmark or Depop for items that will sell. You will absolutely make more that way. Have to say staff was very kind tho. read more

Dropped off some clothes for resale here. If you leave your clothes for longer than a day they will donate them which seems a little extreme to me. I had previously dropped off another bag for resale around 11am then came by the next day around 12pm and they said they weren't ready. The return ticket I was given said to return in between 1pm-7pm the following day after I dropped it off. It seems a little ridiculous to have such a strict window. You're also only allowed to drop about one laundry baskets worth of laundry. They tend to only take a couple items and it doesn't matter the quality because there's so much Shein and other cheap brands they keep in store. When I brought in the laundry sized basket they only took maybe 5-7 items and I was given about $21. The second time I brought in a smaller basket they took around 4-5 items and still only got $21. This Location is VERY well organized , maintained , staffed , stocked , and operated. The customers must also be excellent , efficient , and well educated to the benefits of reselling and up-cycling. cant say enough about the ebb and flow of this store the employees + sellers + patrons + clothing here feels very genuine , old school , small town , mid 90's type of vibe , been selling for around 20 yrs. i work and buy most of what i end up selling either website direct or in store direct. i resell to supplement next years/ next seasons items. its been a long time since i was treated fairly and respectfully most of the time i guess other places just think everyones a booster so they give u bare minimum/ next to nothing sometimes dont even make back the cost of gas it takes just to bring my stuff in. will return. would recommend. read more

This is hands down the worst freestyle clothing company location I have ever been to since 2007. It's a shame because I always thought highly of the clothing being selected at each location. This one in particular was very dirty, not welcoming, and the amount of clothes I went through were soiled and in the wrong place. Such a disgrace how much downhill freestyle has gone. The service from employees were none existent. Instead of up keeping the store they were more interested in not really working. I highly recommend to the owner to do some serious quality insurance at this location at difference times. Or have a friend check it out for you. I honestly don't know what happened but employees use to know a lot about what clothing comes in and could offer in sight on other styles. That alone it's hard to even want to come back as there are better similar stores around that deserves my money from working hard and great hospitality. read more

Walk in, staff was friendly asked if they could start room. I loved the different variety of clothes. There were lots of different areas to look at whether it be new clothes, used clothes, purses. Mostly I appreciated that it was clean, organized , easy to get down the isle. Not chaotic like some other consignment stores I've been to. Great sales and finds. I've been doing the in person consignment drop offs for about 10 years now. I was big on Plato's, Buffalo Exchange, etc. until I started doing online sales via Poshmark, eBay, Depop & do not go to these clothing exchanges anymore, simply because they are high risk low reward. Knowing this, I made sure I only packed items that were "trendy" and popular on the e-com sites as well as social media. I included some Paige jeans, Hollister Chino Shorts, some Levi distressed high waisted shorts, some stella McCartney joggers, and a few other tops from some boutiques. I was shocked they didn't take the name brand items, as girls on Depop are selling "early 2000s" hollister and Abercrombie fashion literally for $60 a top. I actually asked why they didn't take at least the shorts, and the guy got a bit stiff and said "we have too many shorts right now" .. OK. we are nearing summer in Sacramento. shorts will be selling, especially levi, and hollister . while I expected this - I couldn't help but ask if they're still a booming business with Depop and Poshmark being peoples first choice for resale. he said "yes - on weekends." anyways - I initially was told that 4 items were purchased from me, come to find out that there were two. I used my store credit to purchase some cute Levi shorts, and a very cute Khaki Zara dress with the tags still on (LOTS of NWT Zara btw..) and received the remainder of my store credit ($3 USD) on a card... I think the mandatory 24 hour wait period to pick up remaining items or cash/store credit is the cherry on top. I asked since when they started doing this as I've sold here in the past, and they said it was new. big mistake. you can go to to any other consignment store and have your answer within a few hours. we all know that consignment stores aren't the first choice these days when it comes to reselling - but this should be the last on your list . happy selling read more

I was in need of clearing my closet and a lot of high brand-named clothes and accessories. Upon entry I was greeted, and the ambiance was pretty. I was really surprised on how clean and organized it was in comparison to other bargain stores. You might even not realize these are used items. My visit was primarily to sell my items. Most of my items were selected but I will say that I only got a small fraction of what I originally paid for. I gave up 5+ designer handbags and received less than $75 total. I wasn't in need of money and primarily just wanted to get rid of them and see if I could at least get something out of it. So if you're trying to sell an item close to retail value, the selling aspect is just okay. *see below for step by step experience* However when it comes to buying items, I will say that the prices are good so long as you're okay with second hand items. They also have high end brands like Lululemon, Michael Kors, etc. * - You will need your ID and a sturdy bag for your items (e.g., no plastic or paper bags; preferably a recyclable cloth bag or laundry basket). - Be prepared to share your first/last name, driver's license info, and phone number. - You will sign in on a clip board as well as briefly describe your items and the container it's in. - Do expect to hand the items for 24 hours so it can be assessed. - You will receive a tag and provided instructions on when to return. - When you return, make sure you have your tag and the associate will let you know how many of your items were approved and the amount you will receive. read more

First off they are so expensive for a thrift store. 14$ a shirt like um??! Second off I sold 1 thing to them and they gave me 2$ which is fine but they didnt tell me what they even bought even when I asked them they said they couldn't tell me.. I brought in so many really good brands like miss me Victoria's secret, , and a lot more really good brands.. great condition never even worn with tags and I understand I'm not wanting to buy stuff because of how much stuff they have on their racks which is also insane but like come on. Their store is a hazard with how much stuff they have on the racks. on it says too many tags. This being the only thrift store in Folsom other than the cave I'm really disappointed. read more

Twice I have taken the time to wash and fold and make sure all the clothes were in the 'proper container' for drop off. These clothes were up-to-date, in good, if not great, condition, and in season. The first time they took absolutely nothing. The second time they took three items out of about 50. I can honestly say I have seen some pretty ugly and cheap clothes on their racks so I'm not really sure what their criteria is. Regardless, I don't plan on stepping foot into the store again. I wouldn't give a very high rating to customer service either. The store is a waste of time. read more

Don't sell here. You don't get much cash for clothes, including big labels. Too many restrictions and when you ask them what items were taken for cash, they say they don't keep a record of those items and can't tell you unless you request for it when dropping off your clothes. They also don't have that great of a selection of clothes to buy from. I've found crossroads and Plato's closet to be much better in terms of selling clothes, as well as buying. They offer a fair amount of cash for what you are selling. read more

I dropped of some jeans and shorts yesterday and came back today hoping I would get a little cash. I had 18 jeans I dropped off, and I didn't count the shorts. So when I came back today, they said they only kept 1 item. When I got home I only had 14 pair of jeans. So if they paid me for 1, that means they ripped me off for 3 pair. They may have done the same thing with the shorts, but I didn't count them before drop off. I will never go to this store again because they are stealing from customers. read more

Walked in tonight and our greeting was a very flat and rude "we close in 20 mins" from the two clerks standing behind the counter. We walked back to the rack of dresses and quickly picked three to try. The dressing rooms were closed. The clerk said the dressing rooms were closed because they close in 10 mins. Wow. Time flies in that store before we had only been browsing 5 mins tops. I tried to promise I'd try the dresses quickly and was met with "you can try on one item but not 3... so no...". There are nice brands I particularly don't like like Shein; more cheaper brands but I found cute, quality name-brand clothes here and I love their prices, most basics are $12-25! the employees at the front are usually very nice and their dressing rooms are clean and cute! Scam. Gave them over 50 items, they only took 1 which was expensive and gave me $4 in return. They turned me back 3 times prior because of the container i brought the clothes in or because of being full those days so I wasted so much time and gas to finally give them what they want and then they only gave me $4 after stealing my $90 piece.
