We have 20' high ceilings over our outdoor patio with tongue-in-groove soffit. Due to the harsh winter and warm moist Spring and Summer, the soffit began separating and sagging. The day after we received the quote, and before they could get the job scheduled, several large planks fell from the ceiling, creating a serious hazard. Just this week our neighbors had their roof done. Full disclosure the neighbors and my family are not on speaking terms. While i was informed that the roof would be replaced and that durring the process we would have some roofing debris in the back yard. My wife was shocked that the roofing material had come down on our plants and damaging the fence. While i understand gravity and that the shingles would fall into the backyard i was not expecting fence damage in process. About a month ago I needed work done on our flat roof and I called them and they came out and looked at the roof and talked to me about the work they would do and they spent time telling me about how good a job they would do and how they wanted my business, and said he would send me a quote.  But he never did send the quote, and they didn't respond when I've tried to contact them to get the quote. Recommend MK Construction Specialists without reservation! For several weeks, we had water streaming in through one of our windows and the ceiling every time it rained. Michael's crew replaced the flat section of roof above the room with the water damage and properly sealed and framed the window. We had a 15 year old roof with all sorts of issues. We spoke with 3 different roofers and ultimately made the easy choice of using MKCS Roofing. He was a recommendation from a contractor that we know and trust. Out of the three roofers that we spoke to and got quotes from, MKCS were the only ones who offered to put a temporary barrier over a leak in our roof the day they inspected. Everyone else simply noted the quarter sized hole and said they would fix it when they replaced the rest of our roof. Michael the owner was very nice and also much cheaper than the competition. They removed our old worn out roof and put on a new top of the line GAF roof in one day. They even replaced multiple decking boards because of rot caused by the damaged old roof. HI, MK Roofing just finished reroofing the 25 year old roof section under our deck. They recommended a commercial grade silicon sealant since it was a flat roof (slight grade) and would be covered by the deck. The silicon coating worked beautifully and we are very pleased with it since there was no debrie or waste that had to be discarded (i.e. they covered the old roof with the coating and it was substantially cheaper than standard reroofing. Michael and his crew are my "go to" roofing guys. I wont call anyone else. I have used him twice. Once for my personal roof at home and another time for commercial roofing at the shop that I manage. At my house, I thought I was due for a roof after several storms that had recently hit. Some of my neighbors had replaced their roofs and I only assumed mine was due to be replaced as well. Michael came out right away and assessed my roof and could easily have said, yes that a roof was needed, since I was going through my insurance anyway, but instead he informed me that it was still in good shape for the time being, but in a few years, it might be time. The best experience I've ever had in dealing with roofers! My sister needed a whole new roof for her every old, old house. She had two rooms that leaked like a rain forest. She is also a somewhat vulnerable citizen. My wife and I stepped in to get a good solid roof over her head and we had to do this from a thousand miles away. I was able to make a trip to Texas and quickly arrange a meeting with Freetail Roofing. As I said, it's an old, old (pre-Civil War) house. Freetail inspected it inside and out and gave me three excellent options. We were put on their list and within a month they came to replace her roof. They finished the roof in just three days! But here is the difference between really good and beyond excellent -- my sister had broken her hip and was in a difficult state. The foreman, after finishing up for the first night, came to tell her they were done for the day. And then he asked her if there was anything he could do for her-- pick up something for her anything he could do that might help her. It was such a kind and decent offer. And made all the difference to my sister, who is as I said, dependent on the kindness of strangers. Yes, the roof looks beautiful -- the work is excellent. Michael came out when I had a water issue in my bathroom that a plumber had checked and suggested could be a small roof leak. He and Kendall, one of his employees, spent an hour and a half spraying water at every vent, weep hole, window casing, and crack in the mortar or flashing they cold find. They crawled into my attic, lay on my bathroom floor, and generally looked for leaks in any place that water could possibly be getting into my bathroom. That they didn't find a leak is not because they didn't look! Both Michael and Kendall were so kind and personable. They took the time to walk me through every step of what they did, as well as explain exactly what they had looked for and did (or didn't) find. I cannot possibly recommend them more highly. I had a small leak that was apparently caused by too many leaves caught in a valley of my roof. He told me he normally doesn't do small jobs unless he would be assured of doing a new roof in the future.
