Can't find anyone at Freevolt. Looks like they took the money and ran. The answering machine still works, so they were smart enough to make it seem like they are still in business. It's a moot point if you want them to install your panels. Good like finding them. My situation is, they installed a SolarEdge inverter that caps off at 7600watts of real time production. After 18 months of data, my system can easily produce 8600w or more on peak sun days. However, my inverter will only send a max of 7600 to Edison, real time. So, that's literal credit dollars directly out of my pocket. Ineptitude by Freevolt to the max! But good luck finding someone to talk to. Run, and run fast, in the other direction. read more

We had this company install the panels and battery wall partly because of the "30 year warranty " they promised. They do not respond back when you put in a service request after our entire array went offline. We ended up using a different solar company (NeoVolta) and paying their service fee to fix our problem. Almost 6 months after calling FreeVolt several times and putting in a service request we still have not received any type of notification back. We would have been out the solar production after all this time which would have been hundreds in dollars in utility costs. read more

BEWARE!!! What was once a great solar company has turned into a poorly run sham of a company. Under the previous CEO, customer service was tip top, installations were smooth, communication was great and you could trust their word. And highly encouraged referrals in exchange for $1000 were honored and paid in a very timely manner. Now, the new CEO (since February 2023), Marius Olbrych, has been disingenuous regarding paying me my referral fee from a referral almost a year ago (installation was in February just before he took over). He has lied about the process in submitting a "claim" stating a form needs to be completed - I waited 2 months for that form. When completed and accepted in May, he told me they will payout when "cash flow" improves. In June, my follow up inquiry was ignored. Today my follow up inquiry was met with this statement: "unfortunately, we agree still not releasing claims until further notice." STAY AWAY - FreeVolt's word can not be trusted. The current CEO, Marius Olbrych cannot be trusted. They no longer have any credibility. FreeVolt is not the company they were when I first had solar installed in 2018 or when I did so again in 2021 and again in 2022 - 3 installs in 4 years and they now reneg on paying the fee. They are not paying anyone their rightful referral fee and from what I understand, they are not paying their staff either! In the past I've used Renova Solar for my solar. Recently moved to Cathedral City and decided to try Freevolt. Bottom line, should have stayed with Renova. Freevolt is a very disorganized company with bad service and very untruthful and unfair business practices. I would not recommend this company at all. AWFUL EXPERIENCE from the very beginning.. left damage to home (leak in roof) and they owe us money for equipment rentals and hotel because they messed up permits and had our entire home without power for multiple days. I missed a couple of days of work to accommodate their team when they would just show up without any warning because of our dogs etc.. they damaged our interior walls from installing the outdoor electric panel and left our walls falling apart for over a month. They never pick up their phones. They take weeks to respond to emails. They promised to reimburse us on final day of install and never have. (This was back in December!!) Not happy at all. I had FreeVolt install solar in my Newport Beach home in 2021. In 2022, I sold the home and contacted FreeVolt to transfer the solar to the new owner. It has now been several months with no service. I reached out numerous times with no response. I finally got in touch with the CEO a couple of weeks ago and was able to schedule an appointment. Of course he told me there would be a service charge which I was told prior that there was no fee. Whatever, I'll pay it. Just get someone out there. Well, today the appointment was for 9-10am. It is now almost 11am and no one has shown up. This company has changed management since we installed ours and I would be hesitant to use them. read more

On 06-06-23 the new local CEO Marius Olbrych came to my home and did answer my questions about the panel and system and was able to set up monitoring of our system for me, finally! I gave him the final payment owed to the company that I was holding so they would do what they promised. While I am hopeful he can make a difference since we have a 30 year warranty and I would hate to see them go under. I know he only came really to get that final payment of which I don't feel they were owed since I spent months of trying to get them to resolve ongoing issues with the system and getting it up and running and being able to view our monitoring. I am keeping the review as 1 star. I feel it's really sad to have to have gone thru all this and if your looking into solar BE VERY CAUTIOUS dealing with this company. Met Mohammed at a trade show in Las Vegas, 2021. He made an excellent impression and the solar technology was enticing. I appreciated his knowledge and openness with the details of the system. We spent many months tailoring the design of the system to our specific needs. He was very patient with our questions and concerns. Unfortunately with the Ukraine war and pandemic, supply chain issues caused delays. That's the story, at least. Reading other reviews, it is clear to me that we simply got bumped to the bottom of the list. My wife would call once a month for an update and be reassured that the engineers were working on it. Then they stopped picking up the phone. It's now April 2023, and the deadline to be grandfathered into NEM 2.0 here in California was Friday. The last time the County permit office had an update was December 2022. And unfortunately we can no longer contact anyone directly at this company. There is a new "email only" system which filters into who knows where. With no communication other than mass emails attempting to reassure us, we felt we had to scramble and connect with another installer who is more knowledgeable about LA County and SCE interconnect permits. Thankfully they were able to quickly submit all the needed paperwork and plans sorted out within one week. This demonstrated to us that we were being misled all this time. I wish FreeVolt had been straight with us rather than string us along for 18 months. It would have been easier and less stressful all around and demonstrated some integrity if they were able to say that they could not deliver the product they promised. Update: Freevolt contacted me late Friday afternoon (the day of the deadline) to update our account details for the interconnect application. I had to tell them after months of no response that we went with another installer. I also learned that Mohammed is no longer with the company, which was the only reason I gave them the benefit of the doubt. Disappointing. read more

I have had nothing but a good experience with FreeVolt from my first contact through the completion of the project. I had been considering solar for my house in the desert and contacted five of the major Providers nearby. I was impressed by many of the presentations, but the presentation by Mohamed and Jeremy from FreeVolt was eye-opening. The first thing that impressed me was that they were both executives at FreeVolt, not merely salesman. They answered many questions on the telephone and then offered to sit down to make a full presentation. In the meeting I was able to ask all of my questions and never felt rushed or pressured to make a decision. What became clear to me was that FreeVolt had some new and revolutionary technology that was not available through any other company. I am anything but an early adopter, so I listened with some skepticism, but in the end was won over. I decided to go with FreeVolt for several reasons: 1. My belief that they would be installing a superior product at a competitive price. I won't to go into the details, but by superior product I mean that their patented solar cells are significantly more efficient than any others available. 2. The superiority of the product means that with limited roof space, I could produce more power and therefore save more money by going with FreeVolt than with one of their competitors. 3. In the weeks before making a decision both Mohamed and Jeremy had been willing to take as much time as necessary to answer all of my questions. Because of the high level of professionalism, knowledge ability and just plain friendliness during all of those contacts I had hope that this was a company led by people who were committed to The same level of customer service after the contract was signed. My experience since signing the contract has been even better than I expected. I was kept informed at every point as the project moved forward. Mohamed and Jeremy continue to be available for any questions I had. In the end the project was completed in approximately half the time they had projected, which is something I'm sure they can't duplicate in every project, but was very nice in this case. And of course the bottom line is, that the system is up and working in the exact manner predicted and promised. I could not be happier with the results and I am very thankful I decided to make one more call, to a company I had never heard of before called FreeVolt, before making a final decision. OVER PROMISED...UNDER DELIVERED We put a large down payment on our solar system with FreeVolt LAST FEBRUARY hoping we would have solar by the hot summer months. Here we are SIX MONTHS LATER - AT THE END OF AUGUST AND STILL WITHOUT OUR SYSTEM INSTALLED. We were very impressed with Mohammed when we first met but have found his follow through lacking. We have been the ones in touch with the city and IID trying to get updates and answers and then we, the customer, update FreeVolt. We have been told by FreeVolt that they will follow up with IID (we were told by IID our system was too large) only to find that they do a week or so later then they promised. At this point we wish we would have gone with another company. I am happy to resubmit a more positive review if we make any progress but I'm not very hopeful. My recommendation would be to do yourself a favor and go with a smaller company who has the time to provide better customer service as well as the results they promise in a timely manner. read more

Challenging review for me to write. I really wanted to do business with this firm. Their technology was excellent for both solar cells and batteries. The were responsive to my questions and provided lots of information along the way. But they were sloppy with the paperwork. I could never get to a clear quote where things like sales tax, installation, and permits were clearly laid out. From iteration to iteration things got dropped or forgotten. A friend has an excellent relationship with this firm. FreeVolt seems to have a different way of doing business and I am surprised it didn't work for me because there is a whole lot I liked about it. I think the key here is to be very specific with what you want. If you don't feel like you are getting it, cut bait and move on. I purchased a system from FreeVolt in April 2020. The sales experience was great, the product reviews all good and the system works well. But, the customer experience is very poor. Techs not showing up for appointments, calls not being returned and a general lack of concern. My Enphase went down in Oct 2021 and scheduled a service call which never showed up. I was told the tech decided not to keep the appointment (?). I scheduled another appointment (12/13/2021) and the tech told me a part had failed and the system was under warranty and a part would be ordered. I have called four times now and never get a call back "We'll look into it and call you back.". I contacted Enphase directly today (March 2022) and was told a part was delivered to FreeVolt on 12/14/2021. So, they have had the part for three months...so disappointed in this company. read more

Our bill had never been $32 a month. We have had to pay so much every month even when using less power and NO its not a true up bill. That has never been the issue. Plus why should we have to pay for them to reconnect to wi-fi? It should be part of the warranty. Other companies never charged my neighbors after a power outage. For 12 months. Needless to say, we are thrilled. As with any new system there were a couple of glitches. My partner and I interviewed several Solar in g companies before choosing Freevolt. Our experience with Mahamad was very positive, he went over the contract with us explained what we should expect and the cost involved. The installers did a great job and were friendly and kept the area around our home clean during the installation. The panels that were installed are generating a good amount of energy and we are seeing the savings in our Edison bill. Throughout the entire sales process I was very careful to identify my concerns about the possible need for electrical upgrades in my 66-year-old house in order to make it compatible with a good solar installation. I was assured over and over again that there were no such issues, that the installation would be smooth and not require any upgrades. Then their own inspector came out for a pre-installation inspection. Turns out I had been misled -- that in order to do it correctly, it would require extensive and EXPENSIVE upgrades, which put it out of our reach, financially. The inspection and subsequent discussion led to me telling them the deal was off. One year later I am still trying to get my money returned. No work of any kind had been performed, other than the inspection, for which I offered payment. $27,000 may not mean much to some folks, but for an older senior who is looking to retire, it's real money. To be clear, I am not knocking their panels -- I am knocking their business practices. But, in the end, it's the business practices that matter most. read more
