I contacted Blair to come out and give me a quote on a new A/C system at my house. It was an easy process to get something set up and Joe was sent over the next morning. I was getting a couple of quotes so I could understand the costs and the process of getting the replacement. Joe came out and gave me a lot of information and we talked about what I wanted to achieve. He put total quote of three different systems and showed me difference between the units. I will explained to him that I was expecting to meet with two other companies and would not be signing with him at this exact moment. Joe then started his strong arm tactics trying to get me to buy immediately. Again I told him what I was going to do for this process and this made him mad. He slammed down his I pad on the table, started to talk down to me and berate my decision making process. He told me the first company that came out was lying to me, even though I never told Joe who they were or what units they quoted. He then grabbed all of his materials and stormed out of my house, rudely leaving the doors wide open when he left. His quote was $3,000.00 higher than the quote I went with and I got the same exact ac unit as was in Blair's quote. I caution others that have Blair out to bid their projects to be mindful that they will try to bully you into buying a system that is overpriced. read more

We had our semi-annual HVAC tune-up this past week with Blair Air. Our service tech was Alfonso. I am extremely pleased with the techs that Blair employs as they are always polite and knowledgeable. Alfonso checked our entire system and documented all of the meter readouts with pictures. When he had finished he explained each step that he took to be sure that our unit was serviced properly. Sure did make it much easier for me to understand. He showed me capacitor readings that were out of range and replaced the part under warranty. This place will upsell you things you do not need for a one year old AC. One young man quoted us &2000-$4000 possible repair. Another guy came from them and said no we did not need further repair. We had another company come and they said the guy had attached the cables wrong giving an inaccurate reading. Service guy was nice and friendly. Called, let me know he was running late. Cleaned outside of swamp cooler, and inside the base, also change the water filter that I provided. Diagnosed that the pump had failed, wanted $300 to replace it. He thoroughly discussed how to replace it. (I had done it before with our old cooler), I went to Lowe's and bought a pump for $40, then replaced it myself. Working good now. He did not replace the pads as I requested in my quote request. Still paid the $120 amount of the quote. Swamp cooler is in our 3 car garage, just for keeping it below 90 in the summertime, we just run it on a timer for about 7 hours a day read more

Firstly, they sent three men out to a small job and recommended a bunch of services and products I didn't need-- replacing the blower, cleaning the blower, cleaning the air ducts, then i had to wait a few days for an estimate which was astronomical. I called a few other reputable places which were all 1k less and didn't even ten steps. i finally decided on Timos I believe who did the work for a 100 dollars on the spot. I'm a younger woman with a lovely Midcentury house, and I'm very used to contractors trying to overcharge me because they think I don't know anything. It's actually a great way to weed people out. This seemed to be another example. There are many reputable contractors in the desert and I've noticed they generally charge the least and do the best work. Blair was willing to come out first and faster than anyone, but I think this is how they get unsuspecting customers. Just bought a home in Rancho Mirage. Although we had a home inspection that said the five (5) AC units and two (2) heating units were in good condition, we thought it prudent to have Blair Heating & Air do a full inspection and tune up so that we didn't get any surprises later down the road. When we called, a very professional and kind woman took our call, listened to what our needs were, and put us on the schedule the week we were available. The day of our appointment, Curtis arrived at our home. He was wearing a nice Blair uniform that was clean and pressed. He was masked-up (for Covid abatement) and even wore rubber gloves. We showed him around the property and turned him loose. Curtis put down a Blair Heating & Air doormat to wipe his feet as he came in and out of the house and took his time checking all five units. As he was working I interrupted him by inquiring about wireless thermometers. He listened carefully, and gave me a ton of great information and various options. None of which I was ready to do but great to learn more about. Once Curtis was done he let me know he was going to replace all the ceiling filters, write up the work invoice, and he'd be done. He was able to take a credit card and the invoice and payment were all done electronically. Lastly, Curtis told us about a preventative maintenance program that Blair offers. Twice a year they come out (before the cold season and again before the hot season). They do a full check and maintenance and offer a discount on service parts as well as offer fast response in emergency situations. The program sounded great so we purchased it as this was easily one of the best service calls we've had since we moved into our home. read more

And we did have a couple dampers installed for the A/C-Swamp Cooler situation to prevent flow from one going into the other's respective vents so maybe that was why, but the workmanship seemed perfect and we're very happy with our new Bosch HVAC unit, just like John D. from the previous review. Our upper HVAC attic unit needed repairs and we contacted Blair for service. I was initially impressed by the same day response time and service on a Saturday. Unfortunately, the unit needed more assessment and further repair due to poor installation. The plan was for Izzy to get a bid out to me by Monday/Tuesday as my unit was leaking in the attic. Wednesday came and not a word or a bid from the company after several calls. Finally the decision was made that the unit needed to be replaced altogether, a quote was asked for an estimate cost breakdown. Not a single email given.
