I wouldn't recommend Freeway Insurance to anyone. They overcharge, make frequent mistakes on your policy, and unless you catch it, they won't fix it. It feels like they're more interested in taking your money than providing quality service. Every time I've had an issue, they take forever to respond or give you the runaround. Around 4pm Thursday March 24, 2023 I called Freeway Insurance because I was Interested in shopping for an SR22 coverage. John was the agent who initially answered the phone, he asked me what I needed, & then he asked me for my number, name, birthday, license number, email & address. He then transferred me over to a sales agent named Fatima, who did a great job communicating with me explaining to me how they differ from other companies. She did a great job searching up an insurance coverage I was looking for. The deal she found me was great, for a year of coverage $576 dollars. I was sold. As usual I was expecting a contract , but the first thing she asked me was for my card information. I questioned her why the card information if I haven't received paperwork, and her response was, that she needed to hold it? I didn't questioned her as I believed she wouldn't charge me without me signing the documents. Long story short, she sent me a DocuSign via email while looking over it. Some of the things I didn't agree to and I questioned her on some of them. I felt her demeanor change and asked me if I finished signing, I told her no, that I read every page before signing any documents. Sure enough I got the vibe, that I needed to check my card account and guess what, she charged me the $576. I was disappointed and felt I got played. I asked her why she charged me, and she said she thought I was going to purchase the yearly insurance. I told her, I never authorized her to charge me, and in addition to that, I never signed the documents because of my concerns. Fatima then said she will void the payment and that it will be sent back to me either end of day per our conversation Thursday or by the Friday 03/24. I thought, okay, that is fair. I asked her what if it doesn't get voided, and asked her if I could get a confirmation on the voided payment. She said there is no confirmation. After that response, she gave me the address to her Norwalk and Imperial office in suite F. And I again, trusted her integrity. Sad to say, she charged me, and now I have to report it to my bank, cancel my card to get a new one reissued, all because her dishonesty. Such a pain and time consuming, not to mention how much of a fool I feel. Please learn from my mistake whomever is reading this review; don't give your card information before signing the documents. It's not a wise move. I hope Fatima learns from this just as much as I did. Its not right in so many levels. STAY AWAY!! Scheduled for a quote online and got a call from Norwalk, over 100miles away for a quote. I get it okay they hustle/finesse in order to make a commission but I'm not rocking with the disrespect that the underwriter did. The broker Kenneth hall was okay, he gave me a quote of $490 for the first month for the minimum liability and I told him that's way too much and he told me he will talk to his underwriter to work his magic. He then came back with $410 and it still doesn't sound right. He then brought his underwriter which was a lady with a sleazy attitude and was trying to convince me to gouge me for the pricing and finally I brought them down to $260 (brokerage fee-$88.87, where originally was $315). Bringing that down made her mad and told me "Be honest, what is it that doesn't want you to accept our price?" "We have over 100s of carriers so we can get you the cheapest price" "Okay finally now your being honest, you don't like the brokerage fee okay, I'm only doing this one time discount for you!" "Let me ask you a question do you work for free?" "Oh look at this the next company we're looking at would charge you $200/mo, your lucky we saved you per month" "no other company will give you this price, if you don't get it with us now the price will be more" what???? How could an "underwriter"/upper management talk like this?! Very disrespectful, they pressed me into purchasing there policy and not only that I felt very uncomfortable talking with them overall. The disrespectful lady will guilt shame you and suck you out of your money dry. They don't care about their customer as long as they get a fat commission. I had an EXCELLENT experience signing up with Heidy Gallegos Molina (Broker) she was the best ever. Competent, professional, efficient and honest. Got me sorted out and put on autopay. HOWEVER, once signed up in January, I received a NONPAY notice just today and I have been dealing with this for the last 1.5 hours and ended being on hold as of now. I am told that the policy was paid for by a card ending in a number that I have never had. So, please do what you can to resolve this as I am understandably frustrated. !. The agents i spoke to were ALL not willing to get to the bottom of how my policy was paid for by a card I have NEVER held. But yet somehow I do have a policy. Hmmmm. 2. It was communicated that I would have to pay a $10 fee in addition to the balance as per California law, for paying a balance that I had already set on autopay and had been changed through no fault of mine. 3. The last agent I that did not help me in any meaningful way- mind you, he was not rude, he was not sarcastic, but also did not offer any support or helpfulness was named Carlos, agent #5417, as reported to me by him. 4. I have been dealing with Freeway Insurance for several years now so I gave them a call to add the new vehicle. I was please to reconnect with the same broker I dealt with several years ago, Faavela Campbell. As many of you know, this industry is like a revolving door. You don't always get to speak to the same people that just gave you that excellent NORDSTROM type of customer service. If your anything like me, great customer service equals a loyal customer. I was ecstatic to hear Faavela was still around and better yet, providing that great customer service I remembered. She understands and listens to the customer needs and puts there needs first before the bottom line. I was able to add my new car without ever going to the office! She explained the changes, fees, and answer all my questions. As someone that has been in customer service industry for over 20 years, I truly value a good customer service representative that has a comprehensive understanding of the services they offer and solutions they can provide to their customers. So, I came to this company a few years ago. Needed full coverage or coverage car companies require for brand new cars. Alejandro Nunez not only gave me great customer service. But every year I renew he either helps me lower my policy monthly/helps me find a policy I can afford. My previous car was totaled and within a few calls/ emails he was able to score me a great deal on a policy for my brand new 2019 vehicle. I got my insurance policy earlier this month with Fernando and everything he told me about my policy was a Lie. I now have corporate trying to collect the rest of my down payment just a few days after i got my policy, after being deliberately lied too about when i would be able pay it. They knowing lied to me about when i would be able to pay my balance. The associate alfonso admitted to me over the phone that this happens frequently but he can not be held responsible for what their sales associates say to customers. Be smart and dont go through these brokers that are only working for commission. Go directly to the insurance company and you can get yourself a better deal!!! Ruby was very unprofessional and didn't appear to be aware in what she was doing. I came here to apply for covered California temporarily after being redirected three times and eventually ended up here. To my disappointment, she stated that we can't enroll at the site despite being told by corporate that there would be 5 certified enrollers to complete the process. She said we would have to fill out a referral and someone would call me. I told her I did this and no one called. She then was trying to find a flyer with the number to call and inadvertently learned that the referral process had actually changed, despite the fact that she stated and reassured me that what she was initially doing was the right way....just a second ago. She was asking her co workers for help in regards to everything. In the new referral process she ended at the bottom portion where she needed to enter her employee id number and name but for some reason, she couldn't get fill it out. And she just apathetically stated to me, "yeah you have to call them with that number" This was the end result after being redirected three times by corporate, traveling to a commerce site and then commuting to Norwalk. I also forgot to mention she answered her cellphone in the midst of "helping" me. I I'll say this, her skeleton costume for Halloween that night was alright. I'm so glad I got connected to an after hour call center that is located in the city of Norwalk. I was in search of a location that was open late because I had a female from a location in L.A that told me I needed to come inside the store to do signing of paper work since they don't do over the phone sales (BULLSHIT). DANNY from call center in Norwalk save me time from rushing to find a location that was open late. No need for that thanks to Danny. Danny was confused on how someone from a Freeway location would even try to stress out a customer (she was probably in a rush to get home or wanted to earn a brownie point). Danny walked me through the whole processing and pricing to my understanding over the phone. Danny was very polite, understanding, and went above and beyond to help me find the best insurance for me. Worst insurance policy, I regret going to freeway besides that there's no such thing as $15 a month. I have no tickets drive only around my home, have 17 years driving. They have a brokers fee to start you off. There's no brokers fee at progressive,Geico,or the General you can even get insurance over the phone. I got freeway & cancel the next day and the took $300 from my atm card . That was even after they said they wouldn't since I canceled my policy the next day. when I first contacted them I spoke with Fernando Rosero. He was polite and helpful. He insured me that day and I canceled my previous provider. I put a down payment of $505 thinking I was getting insurance . the next day fernando called and told me I was not insured and paperwork would take 5-7 business days to process. I drove home that night and to work the next day uninsured. I asked Fernando to void the transaction as I did not want to work with them. He claimed that I needed to sign some paperwork. I have emailed him several times requesting the paperwork and have received nothing. it's been almost 5 days since cancelling and still no refund.
