Without fail, either through lack of sleep, dehydration, the weather, yelling, or earlier bad habits, my voice has always found a way to be thrown off-balance. But those worries are now in the past. I've found a rehabilitation center, in the 45-minute weekly lesson, where my voice enters the hands of a vocal surgeon. I enter with a voice tensed up and short on range, and leave with an instrument I can be proud of. On top of all that, It doesn't hurt that Daniel's an all-around great guy, making lessons not only instructive, but enjoyable. 5 Stars. Highly Recommend.

He's a very good teacher: patient, efficient and has specific, substantive skills to offer. Rather than trying to teach me a specific style, he's helping me get my voice muscles trained up so that I'm more capable of singing in the style that I'm interested in. It's sort of like Physical Therapy for your voice. I've had a lot of music teachers over the years, and I really think Daniel has a strong gift for teaching!

Seeing your child walk onto a real stage, under real lights, with a full band and an audience cheering them on hits you right in the heart. This was not just kids playing songs. It was confidence. Growth. Courage. You could see how much work they put in and how supported they felt by their instructors and by each other. Watching them perform, handle the crowd, recover from little mistakes, and finish strong was incredibly moving as a parent. School of Rock is a truly great program. It teaches music, but more than that it teaches teamwork, discipline, and how to show up when it matters. You can tell these kids are learning life skills along with guitar riffs and drum fills. Hawthorne Theatre was the perfect venue for this experience. It feels real and authentic, not polished or sterile. Being close to the stage made everything feel personal and immersive. The sound was solid, the flow of the event was smooth, and the whole space felt welcoming to families while still giving the kids a true concert experience. As an adult there is nothing more frustrating than a music teacher giving you 'Mary Had a Little Lamb' to practice! I showed up with a Chopin piece at my first lesson and rather than tell me I couldn't play that, she said, 'let's give it a go!' Lani treated me as an adult from the beginning, with adult iinterests. She has always pushed me beyond my abitliy and made piano fun at the same time. When things got a bit frustratiing she sensed the need for a change and a different piece of music was introduced, yet we always came back to the frustrating music at a later date, and as a result I Ihave some wonderful pieces in my repertoire. Lani is the one of the kindest people I know and her love for the instrument is palpable. It's fun watching her nerd out on piano theory and making theory fun for students as well!
