They are more focus and been right than taking care of your needs, I guest they are afraid of their boss, I come to return an item that I bought and it did not work as expected, they made me waste over 30 minutes trying to make their point than helping me return it, try to buy local and support my local business but is hard when they more focus on trying to be right in front of regular customers while they can be assisting their customers, for sure not coming back, I been in this store buying since 2023 is their lost as they are better places to get what you needs and when something for whatever reason does not work you return it no questions ask. read more

It seems like the bug spraying chemicals are watered down. The containers always feel like drastically different weights and they don't seem to kill the bugs like the same chemicals from other hardware stores do. I wish the chemicals came with a seal under the caps that way they can't be tampered with. So now I have two gallons of bug sprays that seems to be only useful for bug baths. But I do like the fact that there's always plenty of parking spaces available and not long lines to wait for cashier service. The cashiers are friendly too. read more

I went in to have a piece of glass cut and was told it would be done in the morning so when I called I was told it would be done at 1:30 in the afternoon so then I go in and they tell me another hour whenever I tell them that I really needed to finish a jobthey said everybody's on break lol. I was shopping for a filter for my Pur dispenser, and Sabrina showed my one that could be attached to my kitchen faucet. It was not available at that time. I checked with my apartment maintenance person and discovered that I would be responsible to install it. Anyway Sabrina called me and informed me that the filter was in. I told her I could not have it installed in my apartment. I was extremely pleased that she followed through with my request. I have been patronizing Ace for a long time. I will first day that their staff are right there to assist the mo.ment a customer enters the store. I went to this Ace today to buy a couple of chains for my chainsaws. I forgot my debit card at home and when I counted the cash I had on me, I was $3.00 short. I asked the manager if I could use my rewards to cover the cost of the chains, since I come. Into this store two or three times a week to buy chains, chainsaws, mix, electrical supplies, plumbing, and even purchased an air conditioner here. I spend a lot in this store. The manager was shaking her head "no" before I even asked the question. I understand the crime issue. But when you have me in your store, you have to at least be respectful and explain you. But today the manager was totally rude.? This episode today was the last time I for me. I will never Step foot in this store again. The prices are ridiculously high, it pays to drive across town to buy a single item from anywhere else.

This place is crazy. Apparently they have a no return policy on defective products. I tried to return a hose sprayer that I tried to use one time and they refused to return it because it was used. I always try to support local businesses but I will not go back to this place. The prices are higher than Home Depot and Lowe's but I was willing to pay a little extra because it's close to me. But now I will drive the extra 6 miles because they stand behind their products. read more

I bought five screens from this store and picked them up today. They made them with the wrong color of frame on the screens. When I told them, the response I got from the manager was there is nothing we can do for you. When I asked them to redo or make another set for me with the white frames I asked for originally they refused! I am not coming back. read more

A little strange when you walk into a place and they ask you to hand over your back pack. Let's change the señorío. Would you ask the same way a lady that is carrying a big purse? Does that fall into the policy also? Because weather a backpack or a purse, if you already are thinking a person might take something in a bag or have something in a bag, the rule should be equal. The lady with the purse walking by me should be no different than a man with a bag. Also, there are better ways to ask someone for their belonging. Sr. Madam, would it be too much trouble if we watch your bag for you? Yeah, I know. I agree it is a little different but our store has rules and regulations we must follow as well as enforced. Even us employees... all with a smile. I would have given you the bag simply because you would have made your point clear and took participation by making just as personal for you. Customer relations is very simple, yet complicated when adequate training is not part of a routine, when management is too bz looking at the customer and not studying the senecio to change it and make it more effective and pleasant. Well as pleasant as it can be. We as a society have made it this difficult for our selves and that's a fact. If you never had an issue with a person and their bag, that rule would probably not exist. However, making sure a courteous message is deliver, will go further and avoid any posible misconduct in front of other customers. Remember, someone is always watching . I also felt rush and if I didn't know what I needed, I would have walked out empty handed. One last thing. Closing time does not mean attitude and mode change. A business is open from x time to x time, and it should be run the same the entire time. If there are issues with overtime and things not getting done, time management would be the very thing I would look at as a store manager. Ask questions and make it a team effort. It pays off. Store is a little crowded but it is expected from a small store who happens to have a lot more at times them the big brothers... that's what makes it all worth going. Usually have whatever I need. My only problem is that they are to eager to help and I feel rushed, 9 times out of 10 I forget all I went there for and have to make another trip. Slow down and let a person think a little. If I need help I will ask for it. Customer service here is just about the best I've had anywhere! If you ask at the front desk where to find something, you'll be told an aisle number and then they'll call out on the radios their staff wear, telling them they've sent someone to a specific aisle, so help is there waiting for you! They're also extremely knowledgeable! And, I usually find their prices are better than Home Depot and Lowe's. I like the staff, the selection of goods and the location. On the East side of Stockton, Ace Hardware makes life a lot easier for a lot of people. Its warm family like atmosphere and friendly staff always make the shopping experience pleasurable. On staff member comes to mind when ever I think of this Ace, her name is Carlotta and she is very informative and always a pleasure to talk to. This is one place you are surely not made to feel like a number. I also like that they make keys here as well as do special orders on things you need that they might not have in stock. EXCELLENT customer service. I was greeted as soon as I came in. there wasn't a long line to check out and all the staff knew what they were doing. My only complaint only complain was that there was a 50% off all merchandise thing that yelp had offered and it wasn't valid at the store or they seemed not to know what I was talking about or what the app even meant. I think that's more of a yelp issue though.. nonetheless hands down I'd be going to ace hardware or this location before Home Depot any day excellent excellent excellent read more

They are really helpful at this store. If you can't find something, there are lots of workers around to help you find what you are looking for. I feel they have good customer service. Its a lot easier shopping here than at Home Depot. The prices may be higher but the customer service makes up for it. Checking out has always been easy when I've been here. I've never had to wait long. They do make keys here too and I've done that several times. They may not be as big as the "big box stores" but they do have quite a bit of merchandise. I feel its a good store and the location is perfect when I need something and am in this part of town. read more

Now when you check out, when you pay cash, or use a card, they make you answer a question, whether or not you want to donate to a charity to help a children's hospital. No thank you!
