Fast and efficient. I was at the dentist office and remembered I had to get a smog check for registration and used Yelp to find somewhere local with high reviews. Made the decision to come on the dentist chair and drove here right after. The total cost is $45, there is a $36 coupon in their site and then $7 to send the certificate to the DMV. My car is 22 years old and has two catalytic converters that will probably fail at the same time. Luckily, it was still good this year and the amazing thing about Fremont Quick Smog is I was in and out in 9 minutes and I had no appointment, I would have been out faster if a van wasn't blocking the exit. The owner was not fazed at all by manual transmission and expertly drove my car in and out of the testing station, I've been to smog check places where I've had to move my car myself. There is a small waiting room but there is also a gas station convenience store right next door and the small Taco Los 3 Pasias food truck if you want something more filling but if there is no one at smog check you'll probably be waiting longer for food than you are for your car.

Their services -- although to note, their prices have increased due to inflation in the past couple of years

Very useful service! I do my smog every two years now and Jitander is very efficient at how he inspects every detail of the smog process. Price is rather valuable and cheaper than other places. I was in and out of the smog check within 15 minutes :) PLEASE NOTE THAT THEY DON'T DO OIL CHANGES HERE. ONLY SMOG CHECKS. Whoever pinned that they did an oil change here you probably should reconsider your comment LOL.

In and out in 5 minutes. Coupon on their website, turned out to be $35.xx total. I would highly recommend Fremont quick smog for anyone who wants a no nonsense smog check. They have a nice little waiting area to get out of the weather. But otherwise, the shop is run by a nice guy who used to work at a Porsche shop. This place is in a gas station. Get in get out. read more

The staff here was great and the appointment was fast. I brought up to the staff that my registration was past due and that I was working to get the registration sticker as quickly as possible. The staff recommended getting my sticker from the DMV kiosk in the Safeway at the Fremont hub. I did this late night and received my sticker on the spot. As good as it gets. Took my BMW M3 to get smog checked here twice. Jat and his team will get you in and out in minutes. Liked the service so much that we brought my parents' Lexus SUV. I can't say I'm eager to go for another smog check but I'm definitely looking forward to seeing Jatinder again, haha. Will be trying out their DMV services to get a move permit as well. I needed to do a smog test as my renewal was up and I was running out of time. A quick search on Yelp landed this place right on my way to work. Jatinder was courteous and quick. In less than 15 minutes I was in and out. As a former technician for high end cars, Jatinder knows his work well and will tell you if there are issues. I would highly recommend this place even if it is a little out of the way. I've been stuck for close to an hour for smog checks previously even with an appointment, so it's worth making that detour. read more

Quick, affordable, and painless! I came here twice. The first time I showed up he pointed out my aftermarket product and said he didn't want to test it in fear of failing me (which meant I still would've had to pay). Needless to say I appreciated his honesty and advice! I went back the second time with the stock parts. The test took no more than 10 minutes and he rang me up and I was on my way. I would highly recommend this place to anybody needed to get a test done! read more

Similar experience as others; quick&easy. Would recommend to anyone around the proximity. Location: Right off Grimmer/Automall Parkway exit on 880. Right inside 76 gas station which makes it easy to find. Parking could be tight if there are more than few wait in-line for smog check and the tacos. (See the "Plus" part ;) ) Price: Yet to find one that beats it. Remember to check their website for coupon or use the one on Yelp. Service: No wait on a weekday around noon time. I had a terrible time with the gentleman who owned the shop in front of theirs, who lied and told me I was in the right place, which wasn't corrected until I called Fremont Auto Center looking for an update. Jack personally went next door to check on my car, and offered me 10% off repairs. I was told I could drop my car off the next day without needing another appointment. I met Sal, who has such a wonderful and charming personality, and it was great to meet Jack in person, too. Within an hour, I had the full analysis and estimate, and around 2:30, a couple of hours before closed, I was called and told the car wouldn't be finished, and asked if I'd like to come pick it up for the weekend (which I declined, we didn't need it!). The prices were fair, and their system of telling you what absolutely needs work versus what they recommend to be worked on was so great in helping me understand what was wrong with the car. My experience with them made me tell my husband that I'd drive to them if we ever moved out of the area. I can't recommend this place enough (just make sure you drive all the way to the green building and dont let anyone stop you like I did!)

Worse smog check ever, and I have been to many places in my 40 years of smog checks. One, the guy and his partner (family member?) who runs the store are racists, when I was getting my car checked they hurled some racist insults at another lady there to get gas. She was talk trashing back so good for her, but not so good two guys bullying her. Note to those who have modded their cars, be aware this guy will check and not know what he is doing, wasting your time and then placing "tampered" on your check so you can't take it anywhere else and then you will end up having to deal with a referee, who will then tell you are correct but you have to go through the hassle instead of getting it done the first time. There are many other places for the same price where you don't have to deal with a racist and incompetent business. read more

I tried to go to Fremont Smog Star center on 40648 Fremont Blvd and even after calling ahead to verify they could do my car they told me their "machine was broken" when I showed up. Ironically, I am glad this happened because I found this place! JT was awesome. There were 2 people tested ahead of me AND I have a 1999 car so it needs extra testing and it still was only 15 min. He also helps people understand how the DMV works to make sure you are taken care of. On top of that this place charged $60.00 while the other one quoted me at $83.00. They also have a $27 coupon for the 2000 and newer cars. Also you can trust they will not try to find "problems" to fix on your car since they only do testing and not repairs. read more

What a refreshing experience! This is the cleanest, most well run Smog Check place I have Ever Seen!! Unlike many of these shops I would feel comfortable sending my Wife, Daughter or Sister here because am sure they would be treated with respect as a valued customer as I was today.
