Fast and efficient. I was at the dentist office and remembered I had to get a smog check for registration and used Yelp to find somewhere local with high reviews. Made the decision to come on the dentist chair and drove here right after. The total cost is $45, there is a $36 coupon in their site and then $7 to send the certificate to the DMV. My car is 22 years old and has two catalytic converters that will probably fail at the same time. Luckily, it was still good this year and the amazing thing about Fremont Quick Smog is I was in and out in 9 minutes and I had no appointment, I would have been out faster if a van wasn't blocking the exit. The owner was not fazed at all by manual transmission and expertly drove my car in and out of the testing station, I've been to smog check places where I've had to move my car myself. There is a small waiting room but there is also a gas station convenience store right next door and the small Taco Los 3 Pasias food truck if you want something more filling but if there is no one at smog check you'll probably be waiting longer for food than you are for your car.

Their services -- although to note, their prices have increased due to inflation in the past couple of years

Very useful service! I do my smog every two years now and Jitander is very efficient at how he inspects every detail of the smog process. Price is rather valuable and cheaper than other places. I was in and out of the smog check within 15 minutes :) PLEASE NOTE THAT THEY DON'T DO OIL CHANGES HERE. ONLY SMOG CHECKS. Whoever pinned that they did an oil change here you probably should reconsider your comment LOL.

I did not have to wait anytime. Jatinder got my car smogged in no time and the rate was well below what I paid before. It's also the only auto repair/ smog shop I have seen that follows Covid precautions. Everyone wears a mask at all times which is assuring :) Bonus: This shop is right inside Fremont Gas which has one of the lowest gas prices in Fremont (comparable to Costco). read more

Every time that I get a registration renewal notice for my car, I put the paperwork on my desk and promptly forget about it. Then a week before the registration is due, I get a reminder email from the DMV and I go into full-on panic mode. I have to find the paper, get a smog test done, and submit the payment - but the only time I can do all of this is on the weekends! I got the reminder email last Friday, did a Yelp search, and found Fremont Quick Smog and saw the coupon on their website. The next day, I got the smog test done, and they definitely deserve the "Quick" in their name! I left home at 3:15pm, arrived at 3:25pm, had my car tested at 3:30pm, finished by 3:35pm, and was back home by 3:45pm. When I walked through the door, my wife asked why I was back so soon and if I forgot the paperwork. This was the best smog check experience I've ever had, and I hope to continue using Fremont Quick Smog in the future. read more

Time to get my car tags and this time I had to get my car smogged. Someone I know suggested a spot in Newark that would have charged $70. I was talking to a friend and she said she went to this location, it was close, fast, reasonably priced and the owner was really nice. I decided to give them a call to ask what time they closed & see if I could I be seen that day? The owner was very friendly, I was in and out in no time & best of all, it was only $45!! There was a small but clean office to wait in, a convenience store and gas station. It is just over the freeway from Auto Mall Parkway shopping. I definitely would recommend this place if you are in need of a smog check! read more

Easiest, fastest, and convenient. After picking up the car from the dealer on Automall I drove by here to get a smog check. My car was immediately smogged and waited less than 10 mins. Paid, paperwork complete and I was on my way. I called a couple of places and some did not answer the phone or went to vmail. Fremont quick smog answered on the second ring and told me to stop by whenever convenient. wow. read more

My car was due for a smog check and spotted this place a few days back. Stopped here last Saturday. Like their name, the service was super quick. The person who helped me that day was Jatinder. He didn't take even 10 minutes for the check to be done. Very friendly and great service. He also explained me the next step and when to pay the registration after smog test etc. It cost only $40. I am not going anywhere else for the next smog test. Highly recommend. read more

In and out in 5 minutes. Coupon on their website, turned out to be $35.xx total. I would highly recommend Fremont quick smog for anyone who wants a no nonsense smog check. They have a nice little waiting area to get out of the weather. But otherwise, the shop is run by a nice guy who used to work at a Porsche shop. This place is in a gas station. I brought my white Audi Q5 in for heavy water spots/etching on the hood and front panels. The owner, Perry, personally inspected the car with me before starting. He walked me through what the process would involve and initially quoted just over $500. After I mentioned that was a bit outside my budget, he adjusted the price to $450 and explained clearly why he couldn't go lower given the labor involved. No pressure, just transparency. I dropped the car off at 8:15 AM and it was completed around 1 PM. When I returned, Perry again personally inspected the vehicle with me and showed me the results. The paint looks dramatically better -- smooth, uniform, and restored. The heavy spotting is gone and the finish has great clarity. What really impressed me was the integrity beyond the paint correction. Perry noticed uneven wear on my front right tire. Instead of trying to sell me new tires, he explained tire rotation intervals (about every 5,000 miles) and recommended simply swapping the rear right to the front right for now. Given that I replaced all four tires at the same time a few years ago, his recommendation made sense. They completed the swap in about 15 minutes for $39.99. No upselling. No scare tactics. Just practical advice. Overall, I left feeling that I was treated fairly, educated properly, and given honest service. That combination is rare. Highly recommend.

I had a terrible time with the gentleman who owned the shop in front of theirs, who lied and told me I was in the right place, which wasn't corrected until I called Fremont Auto Center looking for an update. Jack personally went next door to check on my car, and offered me 10% off repairs. I was told I could drop my car off the next day without needing another appointment. I met Sal, who has such a wonderful and charming personality, and it was great to meet Jack in person, too. Within an hour, I had the full analysis and estimate, and around 2:30, a couple of hours before closed, I was called and told the car wouldn't be finished, and asked if I'd like to come pick it up for the weekend (which I declined, we didn't need it!). The prices were fair, and their system of telling you what absolutely needs work versus what they recommend to be worked on was so great in helping me understand what was wrong with the car. My experience with them made me tell my husband that I'd drive to them if we ever moved out of the area. I can't recommend this place enough (just make sure you drive all the way to the green building and dont let anyone stop you like I did!)

Worse smog check ever, and I have been to many places in my 40 years of smog checks. One, the guy and his partner (family member?) who runs the store are racists, when I was getting my car checked they hurled some racist insults at another lady there to get gas. She was talk trashing back so good for her, but not so good two guys bullying her. Note to those who have modded their cars, be aware this guy will check and not know what he is doing, wasting your time and then placing "tampered" on your check so you can't take it anywhere else and then you will end up having to deal with a referee, who will then tell you are correct but you have to go through the hassle instead of getting it done the first time. There are many other places for the same price where you don't have to deal with a racist and incompetent business. read more

I tried to go to Fremont Smog Star center on 40648 Fremont Blvd and even after calling ahead to verify they could do my car they told me their "machine was broken" when I showed up. Ironically, I am glad this happened because I found this place! JT was awesome. There were 2 people tested ahead of me AND I have a 1999 car so it needs extra testing and it still was only 15 min. He also helps people understand how the DMV works to make sure you are taken care of. On top of that this place charged $60.00 while the other one quoted me at $83.00. They also have a $27 coupon for the 2000 and newer cars. Also you can trust they will not try to find "problems" to fix on your car since they only do testing and not repairs. read more

What a refreshing experience! This is the cleanest, most well run Smog Check place I have Ever Seen!! Unlike many of these shops I would feel comfortable sending my Wife, Daughter or Sister here because am sure they would be treated with respect as a valued customer as I was today. As a Test Only station they have no reason to recommend repairs that may not be needed as many combined Repair and Smog check shops are prone to do. Went on Saturday afternoon in-and-out in 15 mins. Very quick and professional with warm welcome by jatinder. Fast, clean, polite, knowledgeable and friendly. Waited less than 5 minutes and was done within 10. They also provide DMV services, which I didn't need. Smog certification was a good price and I'll be sure to return the next time I need to do it. Recommended! read more

Easy, Clean and Quick smog testing station. It is very close to Grimmer / Auto Mall, close to a gas station and a nice taco truck! The owner is a pleasant guy to talk and work with. My Seanna was done within 15 minutes! Will be back!! read more

Quick, Clean, Efficient. I arrived at 9 AM for Smog Test, drove away at 9:08. Is that quick enough?And the cost is about half what Toyota dealer charges. The reception/waiting is very clean, too. read more
