Fast and efficient. I was at the dentist office and remembered I had to get a smog check for registration and used Yelp to find somewhere local with high reviews. Made the decision to come on the dentist chair and drove here right after. The total cost is $45, there is a $36 coupon in their site and then $7 to send the certificate to the DMV. My car is 22 years old and has two catalytic converters that will probably fail at the same time. Luckily, it was still good this year and the amazing thing about Fremont Quick Smog is I was in and out in 9 minutes and I had no appointment, I would have been out faster if a van wasn't blocking the exit. The owner was not fazed at all by manual transmission and expertly drove my car in and out of the testing station, I've been to smog check places where I've had to move my car myself. There is a small waiting room but there is also a gas station convenience store right next door and the small Taco Los 3 Pasias food truck if you want something more filling but if there is no one at smog check you'll probably be waiting longer for food than you are for your car.

Their services -- although to note, their prices have increased due to inflation in the past couple of years

Very useful service! I do my smog every two years now and Jitander is very efficient at how he inspects every detail of the smog process. Price is rather valuable and cheaper than other places. I was in and out of the smog check within 15 minutes :) PLEASE NOTE THAT THEY DON'T DO OIL CHANGES HERE. ONLY SMOG CHECKS. Whoever pinned that they did an oil change here you probably should reconsider your comment LOL.

Went in today to get a smog check as recommended by family. Honestly I was a bit skeptical when they said it'll be 10-15 minutes, but wow, they were right. I was in and out so quickly that I barely even got to sit in the waiting area. The all-in price of $43 is an honest price. read more

Update COVID Review for Fremont Quick Smog. As always, I come to Fremont Quick Smog whenever I need a smog check because the experience there is such a no-hassle and quick affair. Big shout out to Jatinder for always taking care of me. Quick observations during COVID: 1.) Still very fast I was In and Out in around 10 minutes even without an appointment and doing a walk-in. Love how fast they can service a smog check so you can go about your day. 2.) COVID precautions observed Everyone wearing masks and they have the barriers when talking/doing the transaction. Sanitizer is also offered in case you want to use it after you touch anything 3.) Cost is the same. As always, it is $27.99 with the coupon on their main website + $8.25 for the certificate. The total will be around ~$36 4.) A/C Cooled The Bay Area has been super hot lately and it was nice that the AC was on inside so I can enjoy the coolness. Came for a smog check, without an appointment, on a Monday afternoon. Great experience. From start-to-finish the process only took about 15 minutes. STAR Certified. Pro-tip: Fremont Quick Smog's website has a coupon for a $29.99 Smog check, for vehicles year 2000 and newer (still available as of July'22). After shopping around - this price cannot be beat. This place is very efficient. It only took 18 minutes to complete the smog test. So it is "quick". I lost the coupon and use the Yelp instant rebate. The owner said it's not updated. But in the end, he gave me the discount like last time. Obviously inflation is everywhere. So just be aware the Yelp instant rebate is no longer valid. read more

Called up the place and asked for a quote over the phone, was cheaper than other places, headed there and waited only 15 minute and my car was done. Owner/ worker is very friendly and courteous, recommend giving this place a try for your quick smog needs! Nice little a/c powered office to sit it and wait while your car gets smogged or you can go get some tacos at the little taco truck in the same parking lot. read more

Short Story: A nice and cheap place to get a smog check. Long Story: I came here on a Friday afternoon to get a smog check because I was selling my car. There was two people ahead of me but the attendant was still nice and greeted me. The place is co-located with a gas station off Auto Mall Parkway in Fremont. I waited about 10 minutes and it was my turn. The attendant drove the vehicle into the shop and plugged an adapter into the OBDII port and another into the tailpipe. After the inspection completed which took about 5 min, I paid $40 and got the certificate! Verdict: It was fast, easy, and cheap! read more

I called for a smog test, got a confirmation there was no wait time. There was plenty of space to park. The smog test went smoothly, and they honored the Yelp discount price of $34.75 ($43 with fees and taxes). They have a nice waiting room where my toddler was able to have a snack. Overall great experience. read more

The service that they provide is stated in their name: Fremont Quick Smog-- because it literally took less than 10 minutes to get the work done and the fastest service I ever received. I came in after procrastinating on getting my car smogged and the renewal for my car was due. I had to get it done fast in between my classes and meetings and I was able to so by coming here. Prior to coming in, I looked around Yelp to see the best options and this spot is the cheapest with only paying $40 for the service compared to the $48 that another spot quoted me for. I didn't have my paperwork for the renewal with me, but I guess it is not needed. The person helping me had me sign papers for documentation, asked me for my keys, and in less than 10 minutes, it was ready to go. He gave me all the paperwork that I might need and I was done for the day. Overall, great experience. There was no line on a Monday afternoon so I guess that's the best time to do it. read more

Needed a quick smog as I was selling my FIL's car. Didn't want to drive to my usual go to. Found this place by work. They even have coupons online: smogtips.com For about $38, I was in and out in literally under 8 minutes. So good price, fast service, and the pleasant surprise, a nice clean waiting area with air conditioning!!! I'm sure I'll be back. read more

I got my smog check here and they're true to their name, they're indeed quick(...and they're a smog place in Fremont lol). I called around 1pm or so asking if I could just drop by, I went there, did the form fill-out, luckily had nobody ahead of me, and I was out of there as soon as I could have been. There was also a nice air-conditioned room for me to be in while I waited. :-) Because it was so quick, I can't comment on much more. But that's the way I'm sure we'd all like for it to be. read more

I went in for a smog today after another smog shop that owed me a free retest wasn't there for the past week. The first shop told me to replace my coolant thermostat, and he referred me to another shop that was charging me $300. I was able to get it fixed for $180 from the shop I get my oil changes from. I'm glad I came here as a second option because the guy who did my smog found something wrong which the first smog shop labeled as "pass". I have a crack in my air intake boot and if it wasn't for this shop I would of damaged my car even more since I commute. The gentleman was very friendly and charged $31 only because it failed but offer a discount for the retest. I honestly cannot thank him enough for double checking everything. read more

The service is dishonest, and rude. 1. The worker gave me an invoice with default 50$ price and quickly went away so I didn't had time to check things carefully. When I later check the itemized price, I found that that number is different from Yelp price, which is 43$, I then ask why the price has mismatch. The worker complains about why I don't tell him earlier and now he has to redo the price. But the fact is that the worker has to change the price anyway even I told him earlier because he has already put 50$ without asking me. 2. Furthermore, when I pay the worker with cash, the worker asks me to change 100$ to a new one, I am happy to change. However, when I ask him to change the 20$ with blood on it to a newer one, he argues about "that is the same. It's from previous person, I can't do anything". When I tell him "but we give you a brand new 100$", he then has to give us a newer one. read more

I brought my white Audi Q5 in for heavy water spots/etching on the hood and front panels. The owner, Perry, personally inspected the car with me before starting. He walked me through what the process would involve and initially quoted just over $500. After I mentioned that was a bit outside my budget, he adjusted the price to $450 and explained clearly why he couldn't go lower given the labor involved. No pressure, just transparency. I dropped the car off at 8:15 AM and it was completed around 1 PM. When I returned, Perry again personally inspected the vehicle with me and showed me the results. The paint looks dramatically better -- smooth, uniform, and restored. The heavy spotting is gone and the finish has great clarity. What really impressed me was the integrity beyond the paint correction. Perry noticed uneven wear on my front right tire. Instead of trying to sell me new tires, he explained tire rotation intervals (about every 5,000 miles) and recommended simply swapping the rear right to the front right for now. Given that I replaced all four tires at the same time a few years ago, his recommendation made sense. They completed the swap in about 15 minutes for $39.99. No upselling. No scare tactics. Just practical advice. Overall, I left feeling that I was treated fairly, educated properly, and given honest service. That combination is rare. Highly recommend.

I had a terrible time with the gentleman who owned the shop in front of theirs, who lied and told me I was in the right place, which wasn't corrected until I called Fremont Auto Center looking for an update. Jack personally went next door to check on my car, and offered me 10% off repairs. I was told I could drop my car off the next day without needing another appointment. I met Sal, who has such a wonderful and charming personality, and it was great to meet Jack in person, too. Within an hour, I had the full analysis and estimate, and around 2:30, a couple of hours before closed, I was called and told the car wouldn't be finished, and asked if I'd like to come pick it up for the weekend (which I declined, we didn't need it!). The prices were fair, and their system of telling you what absolutely needs work versus what they recommend to be worked on was so great in helping me understand what was wrong with the car. My experience with them made me tell my husband that I'd drive to them if we ever moved out of the area. I can't recommend this place enough (just make sure you drive all the way to the green building and dont let anyone stop you like I did!)

Worse smog check ever, and I have been to many places in my 40 years of smog checks. One, the guy and his partner (family member?) who runs the store are racists, when I was getting my car checked they hurled some racist insults at another lady there to get gas. She was talk trashing back so good for her, but not so good two guys bullying her. Note to those who have modded their cars, be aware this guy will check and not know what he is doing, wasting your time and then placing "tampered" on your check so you can't take it anywhere else and then you will end up having to deal with a referee, who will then tell you are correct but you have to go through the hassle instead of getting it done the first time. I tried to go to Fremont Smog Star center on 40648 Fremont Blvd and even after calling ahead to verify they could do my car they told me their "machine was broken" when I showed up. Ironically, I am glad this happened because I found this place! JT was awesome. There were 2 people tested ahead of me AND I have a 1999 car so it needs extra testing and it still was only 15 min. He also helps people understand how the DMV works to make sure you are taken care of. On top of that this place charged $60.00 while the other one quoted me at $83.00. They also have a $27 coupon for the 2000 and newer cars. Also you can trust they will not try to find "problems" to fix on your car since they only do testing and not repairs. read more

What a refreshing experience! This is the cleanest, most well run Smog Check place I have Ever Seen!! Unlike many of these shops I would feel comfortable sending my Wife, Daughter or Sister here because am sure they would be treated with respect as a valued customer as I was today. As a Test Only station they have no reason to recommend repairs that may not be needed as many combined Repair and Smog check shops are prone to do. I was looking for a reliable and quick Smog check center in Fremont, previously gone to few other Smog check centers from Groupon but this one was the best. Went on Saturday afternoon in-and-out in 15 mins. Very quick and professional with warm welcome by jatinder. This location is clean and seems to have all required equipment in order, nice/clean waiting area. I highly recommend/rate this one and location is quite convenient. read more

Great fast service!!! Highly recommend! In and out in about 10 minutes or less! Came in on a Monday morning around 9am, when I got there the worker was finishing up with the one person before me but I didn't wait long at all. Checking in with yelp brings your total cost down to $35. read more

Fast, clean, polite, knowledgeable and friendly. Waited less than 5 minutes and was done within 10. They also provide DMV services, which I didn't need. Smog certification was a good price and I'll be sure to return the next time I need to do it. Recommended! read more
