We have been coming to Fremont United Auto Service since they were still at the Thornton location and have had a great experience due to their dependability, workmanship, fair pricing, and quick service. This family-run business will give you an honest take on your automobile issues and give it to you straight as to what the solution looks like. I don't claim to be a car expert by any means so I appreciate when they explain the issue, the potential solution and associated costs and their personal recommendation based on the status of the vehicle and your financial situation. We come in at least twice a year due to oil change which is a quick service and decently priced compared to competitors. We come here knowing we aren't getting gouged with service fees and hidden costs. Everything is spelled out on the invoice and if you have questions beforehand, they can walk you through it. For more complicated repairs, it may require them to order parts which could be backlogged. But fortunately, they will keep you informed and make sure expectations are set before moving forward with the orders. They don't typical do any body work but they'll have recommendations on where you can go to get it done. Be sure to call ahead to set up an appointment, however. They can get quite busy and due to their business hours, it's best to call ahead to ensure they'll be available at the time you intend to come in. There was one time I had to get some tires changed and the owner Alex, recommended that I order them during a certain time because there was a rebate deal going on where I can save $. Another time I wanted to install a catalytic shield for a Prius and he quoted me a few hundred bucks cheaper than going to a Toyota dealership for the same exact job. Friendly and professional, with great workmanship and fair prices! My girlfriend's family, her, and now I come here for general servicing and repairs on our vehicles. The prices for regular maintenance (oil changes, tire rotations, mechanical inspections, etc.) are very reasonable given the thoroughness and transparency that they are with their service. Their garage is super clean and well-equipped, so you get peace of mind that the job is done properly. Also, the trunk/gas cable on my car wore out from regular use and needed to be replaced. The breakage was hidden under a few interior panels; the mechanic was super friendly and showed me the issue, explained the repair process, and was able to get me a quote right away. Although there was a supply chain delay with getting the part, Fremont United Auto was very communicative and called me frequently to update me on the status. They did not upcharge me for the part, and the installation labor fee was more than fair for the time and effort involved. These guys are the best! I am always leery of getting my car repaired. We have taken all our cars here and Alex is honest with the best prices. The extended warranty on my Ford expired and went for a final check with Ford. They said my shocks were leaking and needed to be replaced. They quoted me $1900 for new tires and shocks and alignment. Fremont United Auto Service were the mechanics that many Chinese families passed amongst each other. It was like a well kept secret. Every one I know used them. In the last few years, the shop has been poorly managed: 1.) Poor concierge- difficult to book appointments 2.) Price Gouge- oil change prices have gone up tremendously. Alex blames recession 3.) Closed on weekends now 4.) Sloppy service- I went to get my car smogged and was told whoever that changed my oil spilled it all over the engine cover. I had to go home and wash the engine cover. Fremont United Auto Service used to be an honest business for Chinese families who spoke little English and who knew little aboutcars. I dont know if Alex is still taking care of matters, but now its the pits. A couple days ago i called them to ask how much would it cost to do a B level service on my civic. The female on the phone hung up on me. Thinking it may be a mistake, I called again. She was rude enough to hang up on me again before i could finish my sentence. I text Alex to let him know what happened. No response. Bottomline. If you want service. Forget it. If you want price, they aint cheap either. Took my car in for smog check. Waited 30 minutes to be served. Then was told there were 2 cars in front of me but it would be "real quick." Waited for another 40 minutes to check in how much longer. The receptionist kept saying it's first come first serve and it takes about 30 minutes per car and there are 2 cars in front of me. Then I asked her how much additional time and she said about 30 minutes. Let me do the math. 40 minutes ago it was 2 cars and it would be quick. 40 minutes later it was still 2 cars in front of me and 30 min/car but it would be additional 30 minutes. If the first car is almost done and it takes 30 min for each car to complete, it would be at least an hour for me to pick up my car. It does not make any sense how she comes up with the time. This place offers high quality, good service at a reasonable price. I don't need to go anywhere else now that I found this place. All I did was call ahead of time that I'd like to bring in my car for 100k service. They told me an estimated range of how much it would cost, and I was scheduled to go in the following week. They called telling me a few of the big issues and whether I wanted it repaired or not. I told them yes for brakes and rotors and no for battery. I heard about this place from my uncle. I usually take my car to the dealership for any repair or maintenance, but after coming to this place once, I am never going back to the dealership again. Alex is a great manager and the staff are extremely friendly. They are always busy, but they will try to fit you in if you are not doing a major report or anything. I do recommend try to book a week in advance. The first time I went to Alex was for fixing my engine. There was a major oil leak in my car, and I took it to the dealership for a diagnostic, and guess it, it would take over $2K for repairs! Damn labor. There was no way I would pay for this. My uncle recommended Alex and I called to make an appointment. One week later my car was fixed and it was just roughly $800! I started taking my car here for oil change afterwards. Also, this one time my battery died and I desperately needed someone to change it for me. It was a Saturday at 2 PM. I called and they were able to fit me in at around 4 for a quick change, and the labor $$ was very reasonable as well. I highly recommend people to come here. read more

This was our first time there and will be the last time too! 1. My husband called to make an appointment for oil change and tire rotation. They told us no appointment needed, just dropped our car. So when we went to the shop, they told us they were busy, couldn't do tire rotation. They could only do oil change. Very disappointment ! 2. When we paid, they asked for cash. They told us if we pay by credit card, they will charge $10 more! This was my first time heard that credit card charge cost $10! 3. So we paid cash and asked for receipt. They said cause we paid cash so there is no receipt for us ! What the excuse it is ?! I think they try to avoid to pay tax ! Very bad !i wish IRS should have caught them ! read more

My friend recommended Fremont United Auto Service to me. She has been taking her cars in for repairs for many years. I have a 1998 Toyota Sienna. When one has such an old car, there is a tendency not to want to put too much into it anymore. As long as it's still drive-able, why spend more on it? Recently, I broke down and decided it was time to do something about the loud clanking noise being emitted from the Sienna every time anyone turned on its ignition. I called and asked for Alex the Monday after Thanksgiving week. A lady picked up the phone as I explained to her that my friend XXX XXX had recommended I called the shop. She said something to the effect of "it doesn't matter who your friend is, Alex is very busy right now and is on a call with another customer. He will have to call you back." I proceeded to give her my number and asked when I could expect a call back. She said sometime that day. I can understand that after a long holiday week, projects definitely do pile up. I wasn't expecting a call back immediately. But.... Fast forward to a week later (this Monday), I still hadn't heard back from Alex so I called again and received the same response (from someone who sounded like the same lady from the previous Monday). Finally, after giving it one day, I decided to take my business elsewhere. It is now two days after my second call, and I still haven't received a call back. The moral of the story: In a customer-oriented business, service is king. Even if you can't accept more business, a courtesy call from any staff member to a potential customer like me is a must. I would have appreciated even a simple "Thanks for thinking of us, but we currently have more than we can chew." That would be a mere 30 seconds call but would have meant a great deal to me. read more

Alex is the owner and he is an honest guy. I have been coming to him for years since the old location. he told me they had to move since the land lord was raising the rent considerably. I used to be able to run to and from the shop, but the new location is quite far. That is my only gripe. On the plus side, the shop is bigger and they can accommodate more work. It used to be about 1 week wait to schedule and appointment, and now I can get my car worked on the same week. I've been coming to Fremont United since I was a Junior in high school when I first got my car. Not this location but the old one by Thornton. Alex is the owner and a really good mechanic that knows all the ins and outs of cars. I get my oil changes here for my Camry 13 that uses synthetic oil and the price is only $55. If there are any other problems with my car this is my first stop. The employees and mechanics are all very nice and will do the best to fix up your car. They are very busy so come early! read more

I have been coming to Alex's Fremont United Auto Service for 8 years. He performed oil changes, 15k minor maintenance, 30k major maintenance, tire replacements, batteries replacements, alignment, accelerator repair, passenger window replacement, smog, and brake pad replacement, etc for all three of my cars. My 12 year old CR-V is in great condition because of the services he provided throughout these years. Alex is honest and always provide accurate diagnosis. He always provided me with price differences between different parts and allow me options to choice from. However, they do mess up appointments once awhile. So I usually call two times to confirm appointments. They are usually pretty busy especially during weekend, so do expect some wait time for walk-in. read more
