I learned about this place, Aztec, when I called Costco's Auto Program. Katie, whom I talked to at Aztec was super informative and helpful. Apparently I was the first who used the Costco Auto program for the 15% discount. I'm pretty happy. I basically needed to replace my air intake boot for a successful Smog Test ASAP, because it was cracked. Katie took my call, and gave me an appointment the next day. She even checked to make sure they had the part immediately so I could be in and out. Otherwise, they'd have to order the part. In this review, I want to mention this was the best place for quick and thorough service. First, I want to thank Roberto and Katie for their service. I had an exhaust issue on my diesel truck and was able to diagnose it to a particular part. Once installed, all warning lights were cleared and they rechecked everything, all good. I also had them replace all four tire sensors as they were not working. I would say they are compatible with dealership/other auto repair pricing. They gave me a 3 year warranty on parts and labor. You don't get that from other places. Roberto worked with me on the pricing prior to making my decision. I recommend this shop for their work. The only thing I didn't like is the cost to diagnose it. I felt it was high. Right before I brought my car here. I had my belts changed a quality auto in Fremont they checked my car and said. Every thing looks good. What they don't know. Is I'm a mechanic for more then 20 years. And my water was already replaced. So leaving there car for a few days, picking up. They damaged my water on truck. This place intentionally damaged my things. Do not go to this shop. This shop is scammers and racism against me. I will call them and demanded my refund on what the damaged. I would like to first off start by saying do your research before you come here I took in my vehicle for a coolant leak and Katie, which is a person in front came out with a bunch of excuses of how my vehicle was old and it had a bunch of rust everywhere, which didn't make sense to me as of that have nothing to do with the coolant leak. Their prices are also outrageous. They wanted to charge me $1200 for a radiator that's listed online for $400. Don't take your car to this place. I would not recommend it to anybody looking for an honest shop and being on a budget, especially from somebody like Katie in the front who has no automotive experience whatsoever but sure talks that she does I took my truck somewhere else and they were able to fix it for half the price I was getting charged from this place. They were honest, but I'm glad I came here because this brought me to an honest mechanic shop that I can trust and bring my cars back to. read more

Both Mercedes and Katie were awesome and helping me finally fix my car back in July the catalytic converter had been stolen right out front of my house. I called Aztec and talked to Mercedes and told her that the situation was bad if there was anything she could do to help me and so she did. It wasn't more than a week right during Thanksgiving and yet my car still was fixed and in perfect condition and she went above and beyond both Katie and Mercedes contacted my insurance company I had at the time and filed extra papers without even being asked so that I can get some money back. My car always pass the smog check but this time it did not, and so I returned for a retest. Lo and behold I have to pay the full price again because I returned more than 30 days from the initial test. The initial test receipt did not indicate anything about the 30-day limit. I went to Aztek Auto Repair for oil change on 01/08/2019 for my Toyota Camry (invoice number 19923) and ended up paying $450. Here is my experience: During the oil change, the staff Mercedes told me that the technician found a bolt thread on the oil pan was stripped when he removed the drain bolt. She told me the possible reason was the bolt being installed too tight from the previous shop, and he had difficulty removing it in the beginning. I got asked to replace the entire oil pan which cost me $450. I discussed it with my friend in the auto repair industry later on. It seems like they didn't do thing right. When the technician found it was very difficult to remove the drain bolt, he should have contacted me and explained the situation. I brought my car in without a problem to their shop. If their technician thinks there is a problem from my previous oil change shop, I would have brought my car back to the previous shop for this problem. Their technician didn't contact me and instead forcibly removed the oil pan. Legally, it's their technician who broke my car. He should have informed me before he forcibly removed the bolt, so that I could have a chance to say I'll bring my car to my previous car repair shop. The staff Mercedes called and asked me to see the oil pan after the damage was already done. I'm not a mechanic and thus I wouldn't know what would be the best option to fix it. She said the ONLY way at that moment  was to replace the oil pan because if they put the bolt back, the bolt would come out any time and my engine would die any time. I was given no option but to pay $450 to fix it. My auto repair friend also mentioned there are ways to fix the the oil pan thread: either through using a bigger drain bolt to fix it or fixing the thread. Aztek should have provided different options for this situation, but they only offer the most expensive one. I was on a trip after the oil pan replacement. When I returned home, I found that there was a leaking form my car. Apparently they didn't do a proper job to replace my oil pan. I needed to ask my wife to take half day off to fix this for me. Considering all the experience and the the learning from my professional friend, I contacted Aztek for the parts they didn't do right. Roberto responded but kept saying they did everything right. Quote from his response "you mention that there are other ways to repair an oil pan damage thread and believe me I know all the tricks, yes there are other ways to fix a damage oil pan thread, are they the best options? no, there is only one way to make things right and that is the one we offer you". So apparently he knows all the ways to fix a damage oil pan but didn't want to provide me options to choose for my car. Instead, he only give the "Best" & "Most expensive" option. He also claimed the free fix for the oil leaks after the new oil pan was their great warranty. Because it's hard for me to communicate with Aztek, I filed a complaint through Bureau of Automotive Repair. The staff from Bureau of Automotive Repair said they got this oil pan complaints regularly and it's hard to get the proof on which shop damaged my oil pan. Technically, it can be either one! They should have offered me options like fixing the thread which usually just cost $40. For SMOG test, the shop is required by law to offer cheap options to fix the problems. For regular repair, however, the shop is not illegal to offer just the most expensive solution. For the oil leak after the oil pan change, Aztek is responsible to fix it at no cost to me. The great warranty Roberto claimed is in fact the law. The Bureau of Automotive Repair staff said if Aztek didn't fix the leaking for free, Aztek would face a serious issue. Sadly, by current law, I can get enough evidence so Bureau of Automotive Repair can help me in this case. Overall, it was a terrible experience. I brought my car in for oil change. Aztek technician found it was very difficult to remove the drain bolt and still forcibly removed it. Aztek then didn't offer me any cheap options but only to replace the entire oil pan. The new oil pan wasn't installed right and it started to leak soon after it was installed. I contacted Bureau of Automotive Repair and learned there are some parts they didn't do right, but it was still legal. I learned a lot from this experience. Aztek earned $450 for my oil pan repair, but my friends and I won't go back for their service in the future. read more

Came into Aztek for a diagnostic check due to huge coolant leak and I was told that my radiator is bad and needs to be replaced! I am glad to have knowledge of what is wrong with my car but my quote was damn expensive! Although it is expensive I still went ahead and booked an appointment for next Friday 9/16/2016 so I will be back to update my review. My diagnostic check was free of charge so I was definitely happy about that! I will be getting my Radiator replaced, Upper and Lower Radiator Hoses replaced, add coolant, oil filter & engine oil change (quoted $860). Im excited to get my car fixed .. this would be about 6 items of things to do crossed off my Malibu TLC list! Next up - Replacement for Bumper / Hood (autobody work). UPDATE : Currently awaiting in the waiting area while my car is getting fixed! Also just found out that my Waterpump & belt needs to be replaced -_- but that'll have to wait until another week or two! UPDATE (Sept. 19, 2016) : So I ended up having to replace Upper & Lower Radiator Hoses, Radiator, Waterpump & belt as well as getting an Oil change .. its been 3 days since my car has been out of the shop and its driving like new all over again! My brake lights were not working, the bulbs we good (same bulbs of rear light). I replaced the brake switch but still didn't work so I took it to this place. I was told that the brake switch is bad (apparently the one I bought was bad) and the bulbs are blown ( I am sure they weren't as they are the same one for the tail light which was working). I was charged $260! $95 diagnostic, $60 to change the bulb, $60 to change switch and $40 switch and $ bulbs. I was given blown bulb that does not belong to my car! Problem is fixed, however, too expensive and the main thing, not honest. I think trust is the main thing you look for when you deal with a mechanic. read more

By far the worst shop ever. Brought my girlfriends car in for a brakes and rotor change. A simple fix right? I guess not for Aztek auto. I've had the brakes changed before from some 19 year old kid and never had a problem. Now I bring it here to Aztek and it squeals every time I break I even hear a grinding sound sometimes. I brought the car back for them to check it out. They gave a "test drive" and said they hear the squeaking in the rear.... I'm sorry but the rear brakes pads still have 5-6 mm on them and the rotor is looking good. I've researched what could be the problem and it could be brake grease. What kind of shop doesn't know these kind of things? Or bother to look it up? I don't know how they got 5 stars. Seems like a faulty shop that's trying to get your money.
