Joey came out to do the quote and was quick, efficient, and explained what to expect. I received the estimate later that same day as promised and the price was fair. When I approved the quote we talked about color options, and he recommended the "Native" color. I wanted something neutral but with a little character in a herringbone pattern, and I'm really happy with how it turned out. He also mentioned darker tones tend to hold up better in the Arizona heat since lighter colors fade faster. The only hiccup was the scheduling process. They require a deposit before scheduling, which made me a little hesitant. I was told I'd get a call later that day to set the install date, but it took a couple follow-up calls before we actually got it confirmed. The office staff was always very polite and helpful though. On install day, I had given instructions on where materials could be placed since I live in a townhouse complex, but the pavers ended up being left in the grass overnight instead. Luckily everything was fine. I later found out the superintendent originally assigned to my project got sick, so another team member stepped in and didn't have all the details from our earlier conversations, which probably explains the communication mix-up. That said, once the work started the crew moved quickly and finished within the expected timeframe (about three days). The final result looks great and I'm very happy with the finished project.

The crew's craftsmanship on the travertine was genuinely good, but everything around project management and communication fell short. Owner Kendall repeatedly gave us specific dates and times for work to happen, which were then missed without proactive updates -- we had to chase him for status on nearly every phase. Demo also ran long, and the crew failed to clear debris from our driveway in time for Easter; we ended up using Facebook Marketplace to get people to haul away leftover materials ourselves. The turf installation has been the most disappointing part. For what we paid for a premium product, the seams are visibly poor. It took five weeks just to get a crew out to attempt a repair, and that attempt made the seam lines worse. We now have a tentative date for another repair, but given the pattern of missed commitments, we're not confident it will be honored. At one point we went over a month without any contact from them - until they called asking for payment, and we had to push back to get anyone out to the site. The project started before Easter. It's now nearly August, and it's still not finished. If clear communication and reliable follow-through matter to you, I'd be cautious about pursuing CitiScapes.

The work was to complete implementation in both back and front of our property and James's quote encompassed all the work we wanted without cutting any corners. He was incredibly easy to work with, flexible and always responsive to any questions we had. He came up with a creative design for our backyard that provided more privacy; an entertainment space with a bar, tv, fire pit; and an outdoor kitchen. He asks questions to understand what your needs are and how you envision yourself using your yard to come up with a 3-D rendering of your ideal space. Sean has an eye for design and thinks of the big picture and the small details. We had to wait several months for the crew to start, but in my mind that was a good sign that Envirogreen was well sought after. They were worth the wait! Envirogreen has their own crews, instead of a bunch of subcontractors. Their crew, led by Abraham, was punctual, reliable, and hardworking. They showed up 5-6 days a week and worked long days until our project was complete. This kind of work ethic and reliability is so rare these days. Project scope was multi phase: landscape lighting, some plant installation, and replacement of grass in front yard to corapia to align with city of Phoenix program of replacing grass. Landscape lighting went very well - work was done expeditiously and end result was great. The cutover from grass to corapia started out great - team did good job of removing the grass and doing the install. While things looked good during the first few weeks, I then noticed that I had "nut" grass growing rapidly. I contacted Dave, he popped by within a couple of days, assessed it and said he would try to figure out how to get rid of it. That was in March. After numerous texts and emails the past few months, nothing has been done and since my yard started to look like a jungle, I began using my old landscaper to at least cut things back so as to not have the city fine me for violations. The plant install, which I had not paid for, has yet to be done even though I was told order for those plants was done in the spring. Gerson offered to come by within 24 hours of contacting him and spoke with us about our (very loose) vision. Our yard is large, full of dirt, and we have some awkward spacing because we built a stand alone office in the back between the house and another shed. We wanted something minimalist, clean, and easy to care for. He took measurements and gave us some suggestions. He even took the time to meet and walk us through a nursery to help us choose plants that fit our vision, and his recommendations turned out perfect. The crew worked fast, even in the Arizona heat and a few days of rain, and the quality of their work really shows. They absolutely transformed our backyard with new irrigation, pavers to lengthen our patio area, new rock, a small grass for our dog and baby, and landscaping, and we couldn't be happier with how it turned out. Prior to starting he confirmed multiple times that it would be a two-zone setup, per text messages. After the installation, I found out from a different landscaper that only one zone was actually connected. So now I can't control how much water my trees versus smaller desert plants get. I reached out SEVERAL times over SEVERAL weeks to give him the chance to come back and check it, but he completely stopped responding. He claims he stands behind his work with a 2 year warranty, but so far that is false. This isn't the only issue either. We have dying plants because the drip lines barely reach them. Plants and trees falling over because of not enough support and also slowly dying from improper watering from not having a 2 zone system. AND a few days after the job was complete I noticed he cut up my backwash hose line for the pool pump. He claimed he didn't see it at first but him and his crew were literally the last ones in that area. He reluctantly shipped me a new backwash hose but didn't want to come install it so I had to do it myself because he stopped responding. Yes, maybe it's easy to install but why should I have to fix your mistake??? Promising one thing and delivering something different is completely DISHONEST. Now I'm stuck paying another contractor to fix all the other problems. I've been patient and gave him enough opportunity to resolve any issues before leaving a review, but being ignored for weeks leaves me with no other choice. I hope this helps others when deciding who to hire.
