I feel so sorry to have to do this. I don't like to rate 1 star but my experience yesterday was a nightmare. I mean, the girls who took care of my sister and I were nice and sweet but what they did was horrible ( going to post pictures). 1st: I think they are super pricey $10 to remove shellac? Usually is nothing or $5. 2nd: How you have single colors, meaning shellac you have one color and regular another color. There is no matching colors. Usually women matches their manicure color with their pedicure. We spent literally 15min trying to figure out what color to match. We had to pick two different colors. 3rd: I don't see the tools coming from the sterilizer. 4th: They cut our cuticles way too much! (See on pics) we were bleeding and we still have pain when we wet our hands. I could keep on going but I feel bad doing this. Would I come back? NO! I am so upset!!!! Money wasted. read more

I love coming here firstly... I live across the street so I first stumbled upon this salon after living across for years and never having gone in. I have been hooked ever since. I started off with manicures and pedicures (they do excellent shellac) with jihua and sometimes alva when jihua wasn't around and later started using Sasha, Manuela and Sebastian for my hair color, cut and styling. I can honestly say I fe completely comfortable with all of them! It's rare and somewhat unheard of to be able to feel "safe" using any stylist in a salon last time I checked! I think prices are on par with the area and still less expensive than major salons in other cities like NYC or LA. I come here regularly and the cleanliness, polite staff and accommodations they make for my schedule make it a no brainer. The first time I went, Gad started the transformation to go from foils to balayage. He said the process to get where I wanted to be would take several visits. Fine. A few months later, I went back for a cut and to tone down the yellow that had happened to my hair. No idea where the miscommunication was, but he dyed my roots, added no highlights, and told me that he decided to go with "his own vision"! The cut is AWFUL, looks like a child did it. My friends and family actually felt bad for me. The color on top is so red and already showing gray (after only about 2 weeks). I went back to him to see if he could help. His answer: I don't see red. It must be the lighting in your apartment. ". I'll now need to go somewhere else and pay to fix this horrible mess. The cut will just require a lot of time to grow out, but the red on top has got to go. What the hell happened to the balayage transformation? Who asked you to go with "your own vision"? Thank you for having me pay almost 200 dollars to ruin my hair. After I correct it, it'll be close to 500 Gad needs to learn what customer service is. That the customer isn't "wrong", and to want his clients to be happy. It's too bad. I really like the location being so close by! read more

I am in Miami for the week for work and staying in the Brickell area. After work today I wanted to make a nail appointment, I called the nearest place which happened to be the French Hair Studio as it came up on Yelp under "nail salons". I made an appointment at 3pm for a 5pm mani-pedi. I showed up at 5pm and was told to take a seat as the only woman doing nails was occupied currently with a pedicure. This was by one stylist. There was another stylist on the phone. I took a seat and the stylist on the phone, after hanging up, asked me if I had an appointment, to which I once again repeated that yes at 5pm for a mani-pedi. I then proceeded to wait for 30 minutes The stylist previously on the phone sat at the reception desk doing nothing, just texting and playing on her phone. After 30 minutes another woman came up from the back, apparently she was the nail technician. She said nothing to me and disappeared again. Then the stylist went after her and a few minutes later came back to tell me that the nail technician was still busy doing a mani-pedi with another client and that she had tried to call me to tell me that my appointment was cancelled. AFTER 30 minutes of sitting in front of me doing ABSOLUTELY nothing she then decides to share this information with me. AFTER asking me if I had an appointment and AFTER me telling her that I did at 5pm. Clearly these employees have ABSOLUTELY no communication skills. I am not upset that my appointment was cancelled, sure that was not ideal, but the fact that I sat around for 30 minutes while an employee of this salon sat around with her thumb up her ass before informing me of the fact is intolerable. I cannot even begin to understand how this place is still in business. You couldn't pay me to go back there. read more

I came here after having a total disaster hair cut and color some where else. From the moment I walked in I felt very welcomed and well accommodated. The wash and dye was done very nicely and included a great head massage! Sonia did a WONDERFUL job not only fixing it but making me look 100x better than I ever expected. She took her time to listen and understand why I was upset with my hair and did an EXCELLENT job with my dye, cut, and style. She also gave me great advice on how to manage it on my own, and plans for future styling. have never been happier with my hair! I almost cried from happiness. Walked in on a Saturday afternoon in desperate need of a pedicure. They were able to fit me in right away, which is somewhat unheard of in Brickell. $35 is a little pricier than other places but convenience was a factor. My nail technician Jihua was awesome. She really knew what she was doing and my feet looked and felt great. Her personality is equally refreshing. The name French hair studio isn't just that- I felt like everyone around me, the hairstylists as well as their clients, were speaking French. I'll take that any day of the week over Rik Rak's overly dramatic Spanish banter. Will be back, asking specifically for Jihua, so we can continue our conversation about rice noodles and dim sum. read more

I've done my hair three times at French Hair Studio, first time not bad, but A/C wasn't working. Second time a lady from Panama did a great job but once again A/C wasn't working... I went back this month and the owner took care of me and guess what... A/C NOT WORKING!!! June, July and August without A/C??? Not the first time I hear that Europeans don't like air conditioning but come on...!!! IT'S SUMMER MONSIEUR!!! Your prices aren't high enough to pay for A/C??? There's no question about it--French Hair Studio is pricey. That's why I deducted a star. But I've been coming here for years, and they always do a great job with my highlights and my hair cut. Sometimes they aren't the most punctual (you can definitely expect to wait ten, and sometimes twenty, minutes for your appointment), but that's probably just symptomatic of being in Miami. Manuela has a great eye for hair color and styles. My crazy curls are hard to manage, but she gives me a really nice layered cut every time, getting them somewhat under control. If I could give this place 0 stars I would because of only one employee. But since Yelp doesn't have that option I have no choice but to leave at least one star. I moved from Manhattan to Brickell and I was very scared about doing my hair with the stylist that I don't know. Since French Hair Studio is in my building I decided to try it out. I made an appointment just to do the roots , since I have blonde highlights. The lady that makes appointments told me it will be between $60-$70. My appointment was at 1pm with Manuela. I came at 1pm and they told me to have a seat. I was waiting and waiting aaaand waiting. 1:30 pm and I'm still waiting. I was about to go home and then somebody finally came to take me to the stylist. I explained to Manuela that I'm doing the ROOTS only. She did something for 20 minutes and then she took me to wash my hair. She left, so the assistant can wash it and put the conditioner on. That never happened in New York, but okay. I got back to the chair. She asked me : " what do you want me to do now ?" I said : "No blow dry, just dry my hair and use flat iron and make it straight." Soooo she dry my hair , pulling it one way, another way, not asking me if it hurts and not being patient at all. She ironed my hair and thats the only part she did right. *** Time to pay - $140 for the ROOTS. SAY WHAAAAT ??? I asked them to explain the price and Manuela said : $90 for the half head and $50 for the blow dry ? WHAT THE ... ? HALF HEAD ? Blow dry ??? WHAT ???? I said - She never did the professional blow dry, each part separately , she just dry messy my hair. All together she took one hour, instead of 3 hour that I would get in New York. And she only did little bit on the front, my roots are all dark. Jesus !!! I didn't want to be a drama queen so I left home. When I got home my husband got so mad and disappointed so I called the salon for my money back. She got offended, saying thet "she put even conditioner for free." Ha ha ha , I said of course , you are supposed to make my head look nice , not let me home with a wet hair looking like a Tarzan. LOL I came back downstairs and she gave me back $50 for the blow dry she actually never did. WHAT A SHAME !!! I still wasted $90 for the "roots", not the price I was told at the beginning. Horrible experience TWICE( in two different service!!!) I visited this place with my mother in law to get her mani pedi done as her anniversary gift for her. I wanted to make it a good experience for her. The biggest mistake! There is a chronic problem here is the lady (can't remember the name) doesn't speak a word of English, believeme not a single word, she speaks only spanish. I had such a hard time asking her anything about french manicure, or even a simple question like from where should i pick up the polish from? nothing! The lady at reception also didn't bother to help.as she knew English , the' only spanish speaking' person who was doing the mani then ran to her colleague who was doing some other customer's hair to help her translate( i tried Google translator, but in vain) while this person helped her in translating, i wanted to quickly ask her one more thing to translate but she rudely responded to me i am doing a job and have a customer and I can't keep waiting .( rightfully so!) I was feeling like I am was being treated as if I am asking them for some huge favor and as if I am not paying them. Cherry on the cake, the polish came off the nails the next day in like full one piece like you can pull polish off your nail as if it was glued. I have never seen or used such a cheap nail polish!! I was embarrassed since i wanted a good experience for my mil and I was angry also since I made great deal of efforts to ask them what nail polish i can pick up. Of course I tipped her. I felt cheated and humiliated for not knowing spanish. second time I went yesterday for full bikini wax, biggest mistake!!! Same spanish only lady, they don't use hard wax to do it( i have always got it done at European wax center, awesome experience) but since they are right in my building and charge the same and it was raining so hard, I thought to go here, again biggest mistake!! The whole process was more painful than my earlier experience, it took her so much time, and whatever question i asked her got no reply , including if they use hard wax. I was frustrated using my phone for translation and she kept typing her response but that delayed the whole process so I just gave up. I was so used to the feeling of not being understood at all and in so much physical pain of going through the waxing, came out and paid, I asked the guy if I can tip through card, he kept saying debit card, just one word! I tried again can i include tip in the card, again debit card, so when I asked one more time, he rudely i understand what you are asking you can only include tip in debit card. I was like really you understand, coz none of the other people here understand English. But I tipped cash and just wanted to be out of there to never ever come back again but alas, in all this i forgot my keys on the counter when I was paying, I came back to pick up the keys, to only find out, they were all giggling seeing me, guess they enjoyed my ordeal!! But not anymore, horrible horrible service, high prices and no respect for the customers! My favorite saloon in Miami by far. All professionals are very nice and really good. I am Brazilian so I am very picky when it comes to doing my nails. The only manicure I have come to like in Miami is Solander. I started going to french hair studio to do my nails with her and never stopped, she is the best. This year, I met Gad there as well, who cuts my hair and does A M A Z I N G blow dries. He is really nice, and is able to work fast and give you great results. I just moved to Miami and happened to walk by the French Hair Studio, and I couldn't be more happier that I did! I have had a cut and color done by Sacha and was beyond impressed by his work. I have long thick hair and he gave me beautiful layers that shaped my face perfectly, and he turned my dull color that had an awful red tint to it - to a beautiful blonde/light brown ombré. I went in to get home highlights with Sasha and I explained to him that I wanted something very natural. When I got out of the salon the color came out way too bright. I waited a week to see if it would calm down but it looks yellow to me. There's also blonde patches that were tinted wrong in the bottom of my hair and on the sides by my ears. A lot of people noticed it and pointed it out. Instead I went to another hairstylist on biscayne that fixed my hair beautifully and did just what I asked him. I'm very disappointed as Sasha had cut my hair before and he's always done a great job but I do not recommend him for Color. read more

Today I showed the stylist a picture of the haircut that I had in mind - a bob hair cut. What she did to my hair had nothing to do with the picture. My hair is now really short and really ugly. I'm somewhat disappointed with my experience. I went in for a retouch on my colour (balayage), I had already stopped a week before and had gotten a quote from a French guy for about $90, of course that's not what I got charged. The guy who did my hair was extremely nice, chatty and attentive, however not very savvy on doing hair. He did some streaks on my hair, I had already warned him that my base is very reddish, so mainly the touch up I needed were my roots. He didn't do that, they had only shampooed my hair with the purple shampoo, obviously my hair looked exactly as it did when I walked in. He then followed to touch up my roots, it looked better.but by then he left blotchy colour spots on the frame of my face. Again he had to touch up one 3rd time. I spent 3 hours!!!! That's what highlights take!!!! By the end he was nice enough to offer to fix anything that was wrong once I had a good check in my house. However when I went to pay it had been $150 for the colour, claiming that he had done my whole head, which he didn't!!!! And then they were charging me for a $60 haircut when all he did was barely trim the ends. They lowered that to $50..... After the 3 hours the guy spent fixing my hair, for his lack of doing it right in the first place, I felt it was a ripoff. However, Daniel is extremely charming and really nice, which makes me feel bad, but after having to pay 200 for dorm thing that looks a little better than when I came in..... Sorry! read more

I've been going to the French Hair Studio for over 3 years. I highly recommend it for hair cuts, hair color and mani/pedi. I've had my hair cut & colored by various stylist over the years - because they are all equally talented. I started out with Sebastian, and now schedule with Manuela. I've always had my mani/pedi by Jiuah - she is excellent!!! I wouldn't say its pricey, compared to a salon across the street, the French Hair studio offers better service at a much more reasonable rate. If I had any words of caution to say about the French Hair Studio its that parking (on the street) can be difficult to find on occasion.
