We are excited to try their food from the dinner menu since we enjoyed the baked goods. While the food itself was delicious, the server was not timely with her check-ins. I know she meant well, and was friendly, but she often interrupted us in the middle of conversation and when she came to ask if we wanted a dessert while I still had almost half my dinner plate in front of me and actively eating, I knew she was not ready for working at a high level restaurant. Not sure why she was trying to rush us out, but it unfortunately took away from the experience and we may stay away from having a formal dinner here if that is their norm. read more

Second - Saw the newer dinner options with small plates/entrees/sides - options galore. Third - Opted to start with the Marinated Olives (insert dirty Martini craving here) and they were plentiful for the price and yummy, though non pitted. Main course - Steak and Frites (aka fries). The hanger/strip steak was phenomenal! Especially with the Pesto Chimichurri sauce. BTW (my preference for any steak practically, is Med.Rare). Even the fries (copious as they were) got to bathe in the Pesto sauce and the steak drippings. While it was too cold for me to even think about sitting outside, there were a few tables inside and seating at the bar. I'd consider it moderately priced considering it's a small, specialty business which I like to support but it's not inexpensive so plan to spend a bit more than other generic places. My husband and I ate here for dinner for the first time as we had started buying their to-go items recently. For an appetizer, we ordered the Vol-Au-Vent: "puff pastry filled with bay scallops in a white wine mushroom cream sauce, comté cheese." Talk about comfort food: this tasted like a meatless pot pie!!! The scallops were cooked to perfection, complimented by the sauce, and the puff pastry was very flaky and buttery. For entrees, I ordered the fromagier and my husband ordered the saumon d'automne. The fromagier was a very gooey and rich grilled cheese sandwich made with three cheeses: Boursin, Gruyère, and raclette. It is at the top of my list of best grilled cheese sandwiches! For a side, I ordered the Hannah fries, which were seasoned with curry and smoked paprika and served with pesto aioli. The fries were very crispy and, along with the pesto aioli, very addicting. I tried my husband's salmon. It was flaky and delicious, with the blood orange sauce giving it a nice citrusy flavor. The rice pilaf with almonds, cranberries, and butternut squash was a perfect side for the salmon. My husband said he really loved his entree choice. Finally, our waitress was amazing. I remember my first experience with French Market last year-- it was SO good! Their steak with chimichurri sauce was one of the best I'd ever had. Unfortunately, after having had spoken very highly of them to a friend, I revisited only to feel like the chef had changed. The flavor of my meal was completely different. The food is always great - the salads, sandwiches, soups, and of course desserts The patio is always great even though a seat is hard to come by sometimes. With that said there's almost always a spot indoors though. The order at the front system allows speedy service.
