Great service from Bianca. This salad is sad and extremely overpriced. I found a couple pieces of bacon.

Great atmosphere inside away from the kids/families if you're an adult that wants time away from the children! Lunch special is good. I ordered the turkey club with "southern coleslaw," and it didn't have bacon on it as listed on the menu. I'm not sure what southern means with the coleslaw, because it tastes like Kansas slaw to me but not cold enough! The slaw was warmer than the meat on my sandwich, which lowkey freaks me out. I liked my visit and the service was fantastic! The small menu is nice in my opinion as I get overwhelmed by too many choices. Can't wait to return.

In my opinion, this place lives up to the hype! Arriving around 5 pm on a weeknight was safe for sitting on the patio, but by 6 it had filled up. Parking will be your biggest challenge. Our waitress did an amazing job with recommending things and bringing food out quickly. We ordered extra crispy cauliflower wings with hot honey and the rosemary focaccia. Both were fantastic! I also had a cucumber cooler mocktail. It was nice to have so many options on the menu. I'll definitely be back!

The food was good here! The service was great and the outdoor area was amazing. Especially for families! My wife and I came for lunch after yoga. The restaurant itself is great it was a bit pricey for us! My hamburger was plain yet delicious! I thought that a two patty would be too big for me so I got mine with 1 patty. It was a simple patty with cheese and homemade pickles - which were so good! The selection of beers was nice and my mocktail was also very fresh and delicious!

I sat on this review for a bit now trying to figure out how to write it. And finally decided if I don't let them know what is broken they can't fix it!! *I gave two stars because I understand they recently opened and I like their beer. Otherwise it probably would have been less!! I went here at 8pm on a Sunday, my first impression walking up is they had a big outdoor area that opens up to the bar, However they also set themselves up for failure here. With having a wide open patio that opens up to the inside there were tons of people bypassing the host/hostess stand and just walking in from the outside. There is not control of entry. As I walked in the front doors the bar area to the right is very large as well as the actual seating area. about 20 feet in you get to the stand. I was told at that time that they were not taking anymore walk ins the rest of the night!! I even joked do you have an app that I can reserve a spot. Which I was told they don't. Somewhat disappointed I headed out to the parking lot. When I got there I wondered what time they closed. So I walked back in the 2 mins between they were seating people. (I was told they closed at 11PM) After turning myself and several others away. I ended up finding a place at the bar and sat down. The bar was packed with workers 6-7 people working the bar. Shortly after seating a bartender came over took the check left by the previous people and wiped down the area. I watched 3 other groups get taken care of after I sat down, an older couple sat down about 5 mins in, next to me and got taken care of right away. She had to flag someone down for me to get a beer and food order. They were also out of two of their most popular beers, again recently opened so.... Food wasn't a bad wait since the place was busy and new. I ordered the burger and fries. Since the couple next to me had it a few days prior and said it was good. It is a bit pricey even for bar food, it looked good and was a good size double patty when it was delivered. I got about 1/2 way through the burger and found that the top patty was cooked fully the bottom was still bright pink. And no I was never asked how I wanted my burger cooked. I did point it out but the bar staff just went on about their work. I had super high expectations for this place since I had heard how good the food was going to be and all of this to get service like this is horrible, McDonalds would have been better!! I will come back at some point with some friends and hope that it is a way better experience!!

Loved this place!! Prairie village desperately needed something like this. Great vibe & only waited 30 min for a patio table which is not bad at all considering they just opened, super busy, Friday Juneteenth where lots of people have off, and right before a USA world cup game, Great space, good drinks, and food was amazing!! I appreciate a brewery that actually has good food & cocktail options since I'm not a huge beer gal. Green chile queso fries were delicious 11/10. Cassie was our server and she was so sweet and very attentive! Will def be back!

I'm sure you've already heard... but it's true... Big Grove is THE place to be this summer! They have a great outdoor area for families to play (no reserved seats). The inside is huge and has such fun vibes. As an Iowan, this is a dream come true to have one of my favorite Iowa City (and Des Moines) spots so close. Couldn't recommend it any more!

They had a face painter there for the kiddos, it was so fun

I went on opening night and it was super packed, as expected! The service was exceptional and the food was delicious. They had a great beer and cocktail selection as well. I ordered a margarita and it was great, but when my second came it was extremely sour and tart. I did ask a server about it and he explained it's been an issue with others as well and offered to bring me something else instead. I appreciated that and fully expected there to be a few kinks to work out within the first few weeks of being open. The kids play area and patio is really nice for families. Again, super packed with kids and a bit chaotic, but that was expected and my kids had a great time.

Great first impression. Stopped in for lunch and had one of the best Poke bowls I've ever had! Great outdoor patio with plenty of space. Great service, great place, great food. We will be returning to give it another try!

It was mostly empty as it turned out but that meant we were able to get prime seats at the bar in front of the tv. The array of German bier offerings is exceptional. I appreciated the lower alcohol choices as well. The interior is, as the name implies, like a small beer hall, with long tables for gathering with new friends. Also ideal for putsches. The outdoor seating is a strong point. Serene, softly lit and spacious. The bartenders were business like friendly, they really don't want to hear your sad stories. The only downside was that they quit serving beer at halftime of the game we were watching. The game that went into extra time and on to penalty kicks. So we sat there for an hour and a half, thirsty, pockets full of unspent cash, watching the game while the neglected taps mercilessly mocked us. It honestly seemed baffling and inane beyond belief. Still, looking forward to a return trip when they're more willing to part with their delicious brews.

While they offer pale lagers they also go deep into other German styles like bock, Dunkel, schwarzbier, and the whole spectrum of German-beer. They offer German food that historically pairs with beer. I've always enjoyed the appetizers. They have a happy hour from 4-6 p.m. In the winter they usually run a special where you get a discount for sitting outside in the cold. I've done that a few times. Their calendar is always chock-full of events, so I recommend checking out their social media accounts to look for something fun.

They also were 'blowing the taps' which meant we get to try many of the beers that they were saying good-bye to. So, a little story. I was one of the first to wander into a place called Brew Lab years ago. I actually found the place because of looking for brewing supplies. There were a good amount of tools here but also these folks were serving their beer! So, what a great idea. I bought some grain... and had a few beers! I visited this place a few more times on the regular. Suddenly one day there was appetizers. And had the most divine pretzel bites that have ever existed. Next time was an amazing club sandwiches. And some pulled pork. All of the food has always been great bar food. And then there was the beer. So many delicious beers each time. Too many to try at once. But, that is all memory lane... Now... here is the news! Brew Lab is changing. The ownership remains the same however they have given up the brewing. They will have a few of their specialty beers that they keep on tap but they will have a lot more taps of beer from other breweries. On this visit they brought out a large amount of samples of the food that they will be adding/altering in the menu going forward. There were a lot of really delicious items and I am excited for when they have the full menu and I can order some of them. Most notably I am excited for the Catfish Po'boy sandwich. We will be back soon to try the all new... Tall Boys. Look for that review coming soonish!

For a brewery with a maximum occupancy of 83 and an engagement party in the back with 70 people scheduled to attend...you can immediately see the issue. Not to mention the number of kids at this place, now I get it, it was around dinner time it wasn't 9pm however, one of the parties seemed to be a child's birthday party, um what? And why? What an odd place to pick for your sons like 5th birthday (excuse me I am not great at determining ages of snot nosed toddlers nor, do I want them roaming around the brewery I'm at). With all of this being said, the beer was fairly decent and the beef sandwiches were divine. If it was nicer outside, it was still pretty nippy outside and spring hadn't sprung yet, then they have a big patio and outdoor area that could have been utilized. Case in point if your brewery only holds 83 people and you book a 70 person party- number one, just don't. Number two, use business logic and common sense and make it a rule that parties over a certain number have to rent out the space entirely for a private party. And number three, most definitely don't double book your business- heck in this case triple book (with the Saul's pop up bound to bring in a tier of customers you don't normally have) The sour beer was our favorite because, it was only slightly tart and zesty with slight citrus notes, it wasn't too sour and sharp. It was easy to drink which sometimes sour beers are not. I would order this again however, both the IPAS I tried were just okay...the New England one I preferred more, the hop profile was more in line with a slightly piney taste, it was fine.

So we loaded up and showed up one day around Noon. Ambiance was really cool. It's in the middle of some sort of progressive looking shanty-esque suburb. The kind of place that does drag queen bingo. I was right at home. Inside was college sport bar, but with a nice, huge board on the wall of all their beer selection. It Was quite expansive. Service was top notch, too. Nice server took care of us, made sure our glasses were never empty. The food came out at a good clips, and we got an unexpected bonus of free little beignet-like donuts with some delicious dipping sauces. As for food, we started off with a jumbo order of the Truffle Parmesan Hand-Cut Fries for the table. We got to choose two from their extensive list of aioli dipping sauces. Fries were good. Dusted with the perfect amounts of truffle and parmesan. And the sauces were my oh my. I recommend paying the upcharge to just try them all. I mentioned the time earlier, because we had no idea we were stumbling upon their brunch menu. Even more options to choose from! I got the Crispy Waffle Smash Burger (smashed hertzog beef patties, fried egg, smoked bacon, merkt's cheddar, caramelized onion, maple aioli, crispy buttermilk waffle). This thing was really nice. Perfect waffle, not too small, not too big, and no oily or anything obtrusive. A nice bun option. Eggs and bacon sometime get lost against giant burger patties, but with these smash patties, the extra accoutrements really stand out and make this burger really stand out in my mind. I also for the try the Smokestack Burger (smoked burnt ends, smoked gouda, whiskey bbq glaze, pickle relish, chipotle aioli & crispy jalapeño straws). Uhhh, as you can read, this thing was loaded with goodness. Fatty burger, smokey burnt ends, sweet boozy glaze, acidic pickles, and texture from that jalapeno. This was the perfect burger. I insist you order this. Overall, my research did not reveal Beer Kitchen to me, locals recommendation did. Shows that you gotta use your street smarts instead of your book smarts sometimes. Best meal I had in Kansas City.
